Ive always been amazed how only 2 guys singing can sound like 5 guys singing.

By far and away the best version of this song, for me. Beautiful, powerful stuff!

There will never be any as good as these two ever again. A tragedy they aren't given the respect they deserve

Such great voices that left us way too soon. There's no duo that has ever taken their place.

Still my favorite duo of all time! I loved them as a kid and have every album they ever made. Heavenly harmonies and a sound unique to only them. Joe & Eddie's appeal crossed all age groups and genres. Sad that the youngins' of today will never hear or even know of them.

One of my favorite "cut out album" finds of the late 1960's was a Joe and Eddie album that likely cost me no more than $2, perhaps less than $1, at the time. Left it and many other treasures behind in Fairbanks Alaska when I had to hitch my way south to answer a notice from Uncle Sam to appear in Seattle for my draft physical. More than forty years later, thanks to CZcams, I was finally able to again begin hearing such fine music that I feared was, for me, lost forever.
"Follow The Drinking Gourd" was my favorite song from that album, "The Best of Joe & Eddie," due in large part to the evocative imagery of the lyrics as well as Joe And Eddie's fine voices, harmonies and inflections. Learning the story behind the song has only enhanced my appreciation. Thank you, to all the content up-loaders who preserve such treasures and to CZcams for providing the forum.

WHOA, MAN! THIS SOUNDS MUCH LIKE A COMMERICIAL FOR THE BOYS SCOUTS IN THE MID -1960s! THE JYRICS OF WHICH WAS "FOLLOW THE RUGGED ROAD\FOLLOW THE RUGGED ROAD\FOR THE SCOUTS OF TODAY ARE THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW,\FOLLOW THE RUGGED ROAD". THE BARITONED-VOICED SINGER SOUNDED A LOT LIKE "JOHNNY WESTERN", SANG THE CLOSING THEME OF "HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL". i'M AMAZED BY ALL OF THIS, TO SAY THE LEAST OF THE "JOE AND EDDIE" DUO, AS I HAD ONLY DISCOVERED THEM HERE ON "YT" TWO MONTHS AGO!!!
