Marko has done music since early 80's and is one of the pioneers of metal in Finland. He released his first solo album Pyre of Black Heart in 2019, you might wanna listen that one too.

Troy was playing a Low Whistle Not a flute, Marco was playing a Bass / Guitar custom made for him by Warwick. he plays only Warwick guitars
Warwick bought Framus Guitar Co. back in the 90's so it is a Warwick Bass with a Framus 6 string combo that they built special for Marco. This show is also the one you have to watch for the Greatest Show on Earth. Only Tuomas can orchestrate Fireworks into a song.

You saw the thumb when you ended the song, don't sleep on the music video for this song with their second vocalist Anette Olzon. You get the story behind the song and while it is recognizable it is very different than the concert version you just enjoyed. Glad you liked it!
Greetings from Tampere, Finland. That was a really great concert to attend. This song is the only one written my Marko and performed by Nightwish that I know of (he has other bands and projects where he has written lots of music, try his solo stuff like the song Voice of My Father or even the Finnish version Isäni Ääni).

That is an old traditional type of flute. It is called a low whistle. a little taste of Nightwish doing some Celtic folk style songs.

Exactly. I remember when even punk rockers were respecting Hietala's boys and their fellow musicians. And that was before NW was even born. (And Ms Jansen was just learning to get rid of the diapers at the age of 1. So, those who are repeating that Marko should have a T-shirt telling something back up singers, perhaps you should consider again. :)
Another Marko tune to check out, in addition to Kiss While You Lips are Still Red, as mentioned, is Master Passion Greed, one of Nightwish’s heaviest songs. It Rocks! You won’t find a live version of it, because they never did it live. So, youll just have to check out a fan video or the audio. Its an angry aggressive song. Keep exploring this Nightwish rabbit hole!

It's TAM (the "a" as in car) - peh- rrreh. In Anette's time they made a video of this song and a docu "Making Islander". I don't like Anette's voice much but this one I like. It has a more campfire-ish vibe (literally) and different harmonies, beautiful. A flute is played horizontally. Troys has another whistle, a smaller one and that is the tin whistle.
In Nightwish, the campfire sits around _you_ :)
If you want some heaviness with Marco singing, check out Master Passion Greed. They’ve never played it live. It’s basically a diss track from the band to the husband of their former singer Tarja.

Thank you guys! Good reaction! The main thing is that you enjoy the music. Marco/Marko is an exclusive Warwick base player. If you like his voice boy you have another rabbit hole to dive in! I saw Marco`s "first" international band (with his brother) called "Tarot" in 1986 or 87? Dementia! They are still playing. And many many other bands/combos and countless featuring performances, world tours like with Delain, solo career etc....He is coming back for the "Raskasta Joulua" / "Heavy Christmas" tour starting here in Finland on 12/4/2021.
