- To keep down weight, help ventilation, and conserve space, we went with a bifold door on the attic bathroom. It didn't fit, but we made it fit.

Great video. Agree with others that the instructions fall short. Appreciated the positioning of the missing part vs the anchor in the track. I was having trouble visualizing which one went on outside edge -- even though the instructions DID SAY to put it in before mounting. Also, your measuring and trimming for height was very helpful. I was putting that cut off because it's a pain... but now I have regained momentum on the project. Thanks! Really worth watching.

Thanks MrSuperSativa! I feel the same way. I could watch someone cut with those saws all day ... but sadly I've been favoring my Makita battery saw lately for ease and convenience---I feel like I'm cheating on the wormdrive.
Good video.... I did the same to re-purpose some louvered bi-folds for my basement re-do I had from a previous owner. I really like louvered closet doors, as they allow air flow in my closets.
Tip... when cutting down the doors, use some blue painters tape across the entire cut line. You can mark it up for the cut and it keeps splintering to a minimum.

Lovin it. Man after my own heart, good music, I use that titterbond wood glue for most jobs (its awesome),better to trim door again rather than dig out the flooring as door is easier to fix/change than finding identical flooring 20 years later when change again? loved the ladder slip ! that would happen to me too. subscribed !

My door opening is 58x80... I want to do tri panel bifolds. How much do you think can be trimmed away from the outside of each door? My understanding is the wood isn't solid

Great video. What size drill bit did you use to make the holes deeper?
Thanks. I just inserted a few bits in the hole until I found one that fit nicely ---not too snug. You can always wallow it out a little if it's too small, but it's hard to go back from too big.
Hey, where did you find the “ missing part” it didn’t come in my two doors but it would sure make it slide easier. Where you able to find it somewhere?
It was in the box somewhere. I just overlooked it when installing. I hope you're able to find one. Might have to call the manufacturer. If it's supposed to have one, I'm sure they'll mail you one for free.
Great video. I was planning on installing in a pocket door on a load-bearing wall, meaning I have to frame out a header. However, this would be much easier, and less costly. Given that a bathroom is a high-traffic room, have you had any problems with using a bi-fold? I'm reconsidering my design! Thanks!!
We haven’t had any trouble, and it gets used multiple times a day.
Hello, how have these held up? I spoke with a handyman today and he says in the long run they will break?
Still look like the day they were installed, J E. Naturally they're not as sturdy as a "real" door, but as long as they're not abused, I don't see why they shouldn't last. Some houses built in the 60s still have these original doors on their closets, and they still work. I had them on my closet growing up. Thanks for the comment!

This was fantastic Dave! Now I’m going to buy a 24x80 door for myself and cut it to size for a closet! Believe it or not was quoted $410/door for a 24x78.

I use blue painters tape to avoid chipping or splintering.
Great idea. I've used it on a few things like cutting laminate countertops, but seems like most of the time I'm too cheap (or lazy) to use the tape. Thanks for the comment, Crimson Maple!

Great video. Having to cut down (2) bi-fold door because of carpet. That Dresden plate quilt deserves more respect!! Put it back on the bed! 🙂
