Thank you so much!!! My husband passed back in March, and normally I’d just have him fix it because he loved fixing things. Now that I’m rolling solo, I’m getting back into it all and your videos are a HUGE help!
Hi Bea.. So sorry to hear about your husband. I'm so glad I am able to help in some way! Thanks for the feedback.. 😀
Thank you for showing me like the beginner I am. I am putting up my doors and I was having problems trying to figure out where every piece goes, so I prayed for understanding and you addressed every piece of hardware needed; and I can now put up the rest of my doors with no problem. Praise God!
That's so awesome! God is good.. 😁
Thank you for addressing hammering the pins into the pre-drilled holes. I thought I was doing something wrong before I watched your video. Excellent detail!
Excellent! I'm glad I was able to help you with this.. 🙂
This video was helpful in fixing a sag issue we've had since we bought the house. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to us in detail.
Great to hear! Thank you so much for the great feedback.. 🙂
This was a great video, thank you so much! I’m a single mom and just bought my first house and the laundry room bifold doors are falling off the track. I needed to understand how these doors worked, and now I’m confident I can fix them!
That's awesome! Glad I was able to help... 😀
Thank you so much. You have definitely went over each step thoroughly, so I feel confident to put a new door in my son's closet. 😀
You are so welcome!
This was so helpful, you have no idea how long i have been trying to reinstall the doors that came out by themselves. I had to elongate the things that stick into the holes and that worked. I also learned the trick about how to reinstall the door by pulling the thing out first then slanting the door.... Thank You sooooo much.
You're welcome! I'm glad I was able to help..
Thanks. My house came new with bifold doors in the wash closet 30 years ago and have since been trashed. I wasn't aware until recent research that i could replace them. Thanks for getting me started.
Excellent! You're welcome. Glad I could help...
Love your energy and willingness to go into those more conversational teaching methods. Feels like I'm working with you. Thanks for the help!
TYSM for the great feedback! You're welcome.. ☺
Thanks for the helpful video! My doors came with really crappy instructions and your video answered all the questions I had after reading said instructions. Much appreciated!
Great to hear! You're welcome.. 🙂
With this video I confirmed that whoever installed the bi-fold doors in my new rental apartment has NEVER seen an aligner.
This person installed them, in BOTH doors, intertwined and bent, like they were some kind of internal latch that didn't do anything but make the doors clash everytime you closed them. I KNEW something was completely wrong with them. I didn't even know what the aligners were, so I took a picture, asked Google Images and it identified the pieces name. With the name I found this video and now I know what they are for and I fixed the doors myself. Thank you!
And yes, these needed AN aligner (not two smh).
Excellent! Glad I was able to help... 😀
Thank you! For someone that hasn't put one of these in, this video helped tremendously!
Excellent! I'm glad I could help.
love it. I bought doors about a year ago and wasn't sure how to install the. now I know. will install them before Thanksgiving. thank you much. new Orleans. God blessed

You're welcome!🙂
Thank you so much for this video. Excellent job, now I’m confident installing my doors!!!
That's awesome! I'm glad I could help. You're welcome.. 😀
Really not a difficult job compared to many around the house, but you did a great job. The camera sort of jumped a couple of important times, but re-playing the scene always makes things clear.
Your honest style ( "oops...wrong way"...lol..) makes things easier for beginners to hear.
Excellent! Yes I try to include bloopers whenever I can. Believe me, i've been doing this for a long time and there's still an "oops" pretty often! 😂😂
Thank you for making this so easy! Helped me out a lot!
You're very welcome!
Thank you! You were so easy to understand; I could relate! Appreciated things to do/check before and how it should be. Video was clear and displayed well what you were doing. Ditto the other comments below. You're a good teacher!
Thank you so much for the great feedback! So glad I was able to help.... 😀
Thank you! I installed my first set of bi folds today but only after watching this video several times. Without seeing the video first the install would have been difficult and full of mistakes. Thanks again.
That's awesome! So glad I was able to help.. 😀
Great Video! Thanks for explaining many of the practical problems!
Excellent! Thank you and you're welcome... 🙂
Thank you for making this video. The bifold doors I bought didn’t have clear instructions. I was able to install my doors very easily watching your video step by step!
Great to hear! You're welcome.. 😊😊
Wow, thanks so much for this. Will be installing one in a couple of days, feel a little more confident now.
Awesome! I'm glad I was able to help.. 😀
aI grew up using tools with my grandfather and father, one a carpenter the other an engineer. So I am used to tools and the mechanics that go with them. But I could not find a simple explanatory video or instructions on which pivot pins to use to fix an old bifold door. Your video was the bomb and just what I needed. thank you so much, you rock. Your video was the best that i found. Thank you, thank you.!!!!
That's awesome! So glad I was able to help... 😁😎
Everything explained well. Thanks for your instruction. Great job!
Thank you and you're welcome.. 😊😊
Awesome video. Thank you for the detailed info. I have to build the header first then I can do the rest. Again thanks for the video.

Thank you so much!
I keep having trouble with one of my doors, bought my first house 18 months ago and I never had them before. I just learned by watching your video that I'm missing a piece! My wheel does not have a pin to attach to in the track and the door pops out once in awhile. Countless times I've checked the track, the hardware, removed the door to add height to the door (like you did at the end to fix the height) so the wheel is tall enough to stay in the track, but now I FINALLY know what's wrong, so thank you!!
Awesome! Glad I could help and You're welcome.. 😀
Thank you so very much for video. I hav learned quit a lot. I am currently looking for someone to install my closet doors, and I thought I should also have a knowledge how it is done. Keep up the great work.
You're welcome! And Thank you.. 😊😊
Thanks! Redoing three buildings(almost complete demo rebuilt from the floor up )as adult foster homes rebuilt all new closets the doors through me for a loop. Bifolds are the one door I have never done. Thank you

You're welcome! I'm glad I was able to help..
Thanks for this video! It really helped me figure out how to do this.
You're welcome!.
Awesome video. I just installed my first bi-fold doors. There was one thing that caused me a problem- I accidentally put the lower pivot pin in the wrong hole. I didn’t notice that until I had hammered the top and bottom pin in. I would suggest that you place the pins where u think they belong then hold the door up to the opening to confirm before hammering all of the pins. It took me quite a bit of time to get the pin out to fix the placement! Thx again.
Great tip... Yes they can be a pain to get back out once you hammer them all the way down.. Glad you got it fixed.. 😊
Thank you so much for the clear instruction iam fitting my first set like those at the weekend. 👍
Happy to help. You're welcome.. 😀
I appreciate you brother..Good looking out..
TYSM! I really appreciate it..
That was great, thank you, Rudy! I need to make two lightwood panel doors for my RV. I'm sick of the one hollow core door that never hangs straight always blocking the stove and too bulky. The bifold will solve the problem. I want to make one door with two folding panels which fold to left side. Ideal for an RV. Not a bad concept for cabinets either.
You explained this very well!
Thank you so much! Good luck with your project.... Is there any way to make a pocket door for the RV? Would take up even less room.
Great job explaining the detailed procedures-
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
Simple and straightforward thank brother now I can do it bro
You're welcome.. 😊😊
Thanks from Texas❤💪🏾
Welcome!!
Great, informative video! Thank you!
YOu're welcome.. 🙂
Your video was helpful. Thank you for mentioning at the end that the springs are useless, I never understood the purpose of those either.
Glad it was helpful! I'm sure those springs have an intended use, but I don't see a good use for them..
Great video that describes how to install these doors.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful😀

You are so welcome!
Nice!!!!!! Thanks, helps me a lot on my by folds doors
Awesome! You're welcome..
Thank you for educating👍🏼Absolutely brilliant video. The only issue I encountered was that you didn't mention that the ceiling has to be in level. I installed the door on an old frame, which was with uneven surfaces, so I removed it a couple of times.
Oh wow! Sorry about that. Usually the top of the door frame or opening is fairly level already. I didn't consider that some weren't... Thanks for the input!
my bedroom closet door fell off the runner and for the life of me i could not get it reattached. thank you for this vid showing in plain language where things were supposed to go. got it back up and alls good! 😊

waiting for him to say 'you have been weighed, you have been measured, and you have been found wanting'
Sounds like what Daniel told Belshazzar.. 😀
Yes thank you very much you make it look very easy I still find myself getting frustrated my opening is like 58 x 82 so that’s where my problem is I know I can cheat on the bottom metal work but it’s the width that’s throwing me off thank you again
Oh wow.. that's a narrow opening. I suppose you could rip each door by approx a half an inch to make up the difference you need. I'm not sure exactly how much you can rip the door before you get into the hollow part, so be aware of that..
Thanks for breaking this down! If there’s already a top track from the previous doors, can we use that? Or do we have to replace it?
HI, you can use it if it's in good shape and it's the same width as the new one that came with the doors. It'll matter since the rollers in the new door are made for a specific width of track. As long as they're the same there shouldn't be any problems.
Thank for this video
You're welcome..
Hi, I have a question: I have a 72"W x 96"H opening. When I go to look for bifold doors, do I get one that fits that entire opening or two that fits half of the opening (36x96)? Thank you so much for a great video!
Hello. Do you have an older house? Sometimes I've seen in the older houses that the opening is full length from floor to ceiling. The ones I did in this video were actually like that originally. I brought the wall down to the opening height of 80 3/4 or so. I did see some 96" doors listed on Home Depot for around $250 / side for the doors, so they're pretty pricey. To answer your original question, yes you would buy two sets of 36" doors.
Thank you very much
You're very welcome!
Hi, thanks for the video. I'm installing these in my basement with a cement floor. What do I need to do differently to mount that bottom pivot bracket when drilling/screwing into concrete? Like you said the screws are pretty weak, so which ones should I buy instead?
Most of the time on concrete the bottom screws are just left out. Especially if you can get a good bite into wood on the sides. If you feel you really need a screw on the bottom, you'll need a hammer drill and some TAPCON screws to anchor it down.. You might try a little longer screws on the sides if you have to go through drywall first.
Thank you so much. My mom's been wanting me to do this but I kept procrastinating (I'm working on that issue).
Lol... You can do it! And you're welcome.. 😀
Great video sir! Thks for posting it! My question is you could bring the door forward about 1/2 or may be even an inch, my washer and dryer would fit better! How could I know what is too much forward I could go? Just guide myself from the wall and making sure the won't stick out??
Yes, you need to be at least 1/2" or so behind where the framing starts. You could do an experiment with some screws to see where the screws are biting good and use that line for your track. The track should cover any misc screw holes that weren't working if you wind up with any. Also measure the door to make sure you're at least back as far as 1/2 the door width to make sure your doors aren't sticking out. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you for this step by step video. This will make the install less stressful.
Can you show us how to install storage in the closet?
That's a good idea! Hadn't thought of that... I'll look into it... Thanks.. 😀
@@TheHomeImprovementChannel The way you deliver the information to the audience, you have us thinking we are builders :).
@@NewFlower82 Thank you so much for the great feedback... 😀
Good job
TYSM!
Awesome video...I have a problem installing my doors. My opening is 80 inches tall can I shave the door down a bit on both ends or is that not recommended. I can't find a door that fits 77inch is to small and 79 seems too tight. Thanks a bunch
HI. Shaving will take 10 years! You can rip the doors with a saw. Just be careful how much you cut off. I am not entirely sure how thick the wood is around the perimeter of the door is. I'd guess 3/4" or so. If you cut beyond the blocks of wood around the door, you will find in most cases the door is hollow after that. So yes you can definitely cut a bit off of there. Depends how much you need. IF you need an inch, I recommend cutting a 1/2" from the top and bottom.
Thank you. Working on replacing my own bi-fold doors. Still having an issue on one side have above fake trim and doors hang up on the trim and left one is the hanger and right side one doesn't close all the way flat . Any suggestions would be helpful.
I don't have a good picture in my mind. If you have access to FB, you can post a picture on my other channels page under "Take a Bath Productions"
Thanks!
Thank you so much for the super thanks! I really appreciate it... 😀
Awesome thanks
You bet!
