This is an incredibly simple way to stop dealing with the horrorshow that are bifold closet doors. I followed the steps and now LOVE opening my coat closet!
Thanks for your great video on how to switch a bifold closet door! I loved how you covered every step from removing the old trim to adding the door stop trim, and I love that you're a mom doing all this work around the house - you're inspiring me to hitch up my pants and do the same! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Aww you are too kind to share this sweet comment! Made my day! I always refer to 'putting on my big girl panties' when I need to do something I might not want to do.🤣You can do it!
Excellent work!!! Your bifold change to open close closet doors. Gorgeous!!!
This is so cool! I really like my accordion style doors for my closets but they just don’t stay on anymore. This is a perfect way to reuse them and make them more functional and up to date.
Just what I was looking for! Inexpensive and a modern update for our lousy, cheap bi fold doors.
Love the end result. I love being able to repurpose wood products. Nice work!
I just took mine off and hung nice curtain up there, so easy and does not take up room in my room.😊
Very nicely done! Super easy on the eyes too!
Oh my gosh I love you with those fancy earrings and nails doing construction haha! Nice work!
Ok. So, this isn't what I was thinking. But, these look amazing. Great job.
Genius. Thank you so much. This is going to help me with the bifold doors in my closet and pantry
Genius idea of using pocket holes for the double bifold!
Smart idea! Thank you
Great job!
Great job!!!
I wish I could do these projects as well as you... Bravo 👍🏾
You did a great job. I love it. I'm having to uninstall what my hubby just did. He will not follow instructions. and you don't reason with this type of personality. Hello
You just wait until they go to work and do it the right way. Your tips helped .thanks again
Hello and thanks for this video! Can this be done on metal doors?
Absolutely fantastic what a great idea and job I wish there was a little bit more explanation and how to go about step by step for people with not a lot of construction experience
Good feedback. Thank you! ~Chelsea
Nice work !! Subscribed , love the formatting of the video.
Whoop whoop! Thank you!!
I’m going to use this. Great idea! The doors look great!
Woo! Thanks Susan!
Yessssss thank you for this video. Thank you thank yooooo
I love you so much! This is the first time I saw your channel! I used to watch you with your dad all the time!❤❤❤❤I subscribed once I saw your face. I can't wait to see all you do!
So glad you found me, again! 🥰
Keep up the good work
Love it! Thanks for the idea, Chelsea you are a Master Carpenter!!
Not quite but I'm working on it!
Love this idea!! If you want a more flush top and bottom clamp the doors together before you screw them together 🥰… good job!!
Thank you ! 🙌😎
So you do not have to create a mortise for the hinges?
Awesome idea!!!! OooMmmGgg! Yassss!
I have watched so many of these videos and this is the way I'm going to do my bifold closet doors thanks for the great video
Whoop! Let me know how it goes! ~Chelsea
You go girl!
Amazing
I like that magnet close very cool
I have one of those nail guns and I LOVE it
What grit sandpaper do you use to prep for paint?
Nice .
Love ❤that new doors
My trifolds do not sit flush against the walls on the side. What do you suggest I add to make them flush before doing this project?
Omg thanks
Dynamite idea, and video. Was looking at CZcams to see how to remove my 1975 birch solid bifold doors. I looked at your video first, so I know what I am going to do now. Did you recess your new door hinges.?? Dummy knobs, brilliant. I love Durham's Water Putty, why do people use anything else. Great presentation by you , Thanks.
Wow, Tom! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. ☺️I did not need to recess my door hinges. ~Chelsea
Nice hen 😍
Also my doors fairly light weight so trying 11/2” mid weight hinges ?
Love it! Sliding door are so annoying. What was your total cost?
Where do you buy the door lock on top ?
😎 cool
Neat idea! **Did u make the trundle? I just made one that looks similar but I’ve like your sons better☺️
What is the brand of the nail gun. I dont see air hoses.
Was it necessary to side leg jams
Your final result looks great! I’m impressed with your carpentry skills! Where did you learn them?
Trial and error and tricks from my dad over the years!☺
What I was looking for! But could have used more details. What size wood strips did you use on the frame?
I include more details on my website!: checkinginwithchelsea.com/video/how-to-convert-bi-fold-doors/
Nicely done, looks much better. I really don't like pocket doors. If you do not have the money to put in new doors, this is perfect. Reusing doors is fantastic.
Reduce, reuse, recycle!
Nice job. Because you used a ball catch, and because it's for just a closet, I would likely not even put on the stop strips, or maybe just a short piece behind the ball catch socket plate. Other than that, the stops aren't needed to stop the door or provide security and privacy.
What is the width of each door? What is the total width of the finished opening? Looks awesome!
You are so cute, dancing with your tools! Haha Doors turned out great Chelsea 👍🏻
what jig system do you recommend for this project?
You could get away with something as simple as this (plus a clamp): affiliate link homedepot.sjv.io/c/1980335/456723/8154?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2FKreg-Pocket-Hole-Jig-KPHJ310%2F310410042%3FITC%3DAUC-129843-23-12140
But if you enjoy doing projects around your house at all, you will get so much use out of a more robust jig like the one I used: homedepot.sjv.io/c/1980335/456723/8154?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.homedepot.com%2Fp%2FKreg-Pocket-Hole-Jig-520PRO-KPHJ520PRO%2F313671513%3FITC%3DAUC-102934-23-12140
Where did u get the storage system inside the closet?
It's made from wood and was here when we bought the house! This video shows you how to build your own closet shelves: czcams.com/video/Y5I9pluECCU/video.html
Water puddy? What is it and where can you get it? I've never heard of it before
It's the best way to patch a hole in wood! Overfill just a tad and sand nice and flush with the surrounding area. You can find it in the paint department! Here is an affiliate link: bit.ly/3QG8N8t
Make sure your doors are solid and not hallow! And that your door will be wide enough... this wasn't so easy peasy for us!
How long did it take?
A few hours if you include dry time for the wood putty and paint. ~Chelsea
I need help!! I'm looking to remove the HARDWARE. im transforming these to headboards.. anyone??
!!
Sweet dreams.
Make sure you have solid wood doors, it will not work with hollow doors!
Good point!
Hello madam, all's contents good idea; new friend from Philippines,,,, visits mang flavs tv.thanks you
This woman has massive SANPAKU ABOVE.
Why?
Also, you gat the crazy eye, which probably answers the first question.
Installing the ball-catch at the end - just shows what a crock this video is !
you put the knobs in the wrong place, they go near the fold in each door, not outer edge
