      @ronaldobrito3607 Před 6 lety +43

      yeah but a lot of fruits are high in antioxidants, which have the ability to reduce any negative effects TABLE sugar has on the body, and since fruits have fructose, the effects it will have on your body if you consume the whole fruit are pretty insignificant. You can eat much more fructose (from whole fruits) than you should eat table sugar, and you will be perfectly fine.

    People tend to underestimate how many calories are in the food they eat. And just because a food is healthier does not mean it's low in calories, a goddamn banana has 100 calories, a pear has 100 calories (well, it depends on the size but you get my point) and before you spread a whole avocado on 2 pieces of whole wheat toast put some boiled eggs on it and drizzle it with olive oil that's 700+ calories ma'am. Assuming food is lower in calories than it actually is may be the reason people eat more than they think they are😂

      Calories ~ energy. Calories are GOOD. There is a 2000 calorie diet (for most people). It's best to not go below that or only go above it if you exercise. For example, Michael Phelps eats about 13k calories a day but trains for hour swimming since he needs to burn those calories that are used for energy.

    • @ProgrammerSockzTTV
      @ProgrammerSockzTTV Před 9 lety +28

      That is simply false. I think you mean fat. Calories are not a physical thing, they are a number representing how much energy your body can get out of food. It can be good if you need energy for a workout or something, and bad if you live a sedentary lifestyle and won't use that energy productively.

      +MaiCohWolf If people were more educated on nutrition and ate better they would become healthier. Meaning they wouldn't have any health problems that are related to a poor diet. Therefore less money spent on medicine, weight loss programs, hospital visits, blah, blah etc.

    • @MaiCohWolf
      @MaiCohWolf Před 8 lety +3

      Adriana Arrriba That would be fine if a tomato and other fruits and veggies were less expensive than a cheeseburger with tomato on it. Not everyone can afford to eat healthy, so many have to resort to fast food and unhealthier options simply due to affordability - thanks in part to our government granting subsidies to the huge conglomerates responsible for producing food. The problem is less the people spending money on health and medicine and more the government's spending on corporations that produce unhealthy products, so that companies can sell those products dirt cheap to those who can't afford to eat better.
      I'll agree that a large part of the problem is a person's habit structure, but I think more people would be willing to cook and eat healthier if the government and food corporations made it easy to do so.

      I completely agree and education is just part of the problem. I also think the fact that fast food and unhealthy food is just arguably
      more convenient then healthy food. Which contributes to the problem as well.

For example, 100 cal of olive oil may seem tiny but olive oil is also VERY GOOD for you and does not fatten you up like trans fats or saturated fats.

      And alcohol sugars are 7 cals per gram...
      Not only that, alcohol sugars will spike insulin like crazy. Then, while insulin levels are elevated, any fats you eat are more likely to be deposited in your organs and visceral fat... which leads to a beer belly, even if you're skinny elsewhere.
