Yeah. One time I ate one coconut in the entire day then I decided to search how many calories on a coconut....oh my gosh I was so shocked! 1,430 calories for coconut meat and 39 calories for the coconut water!!! even my favorite watermelon has 920 calories and I swear I can eat a whole watermelon :( I also once made an avocado dessert...I used 4 avocadoes...I did not know an avocado has 322 calories. :/

Anna Grydzuk Fat is really important for your body, as long as it's good fat. It helps with your skin and stuff, because it acts as an insulator. Btw avacoados are very healthy. They don't have a lot of calories, but they do have some really good nutrients in them. In an ounce of walnuts, there are a lot of good fats, and a lot of potassium and vitamins. Just try to stay away from saturated fats and transfats and you're all good :)

It really depends on what you consider a normal size bacon strip or carrot. A simple Google search shows that yes, 50 pieces of 8g bacon does equal 2k calories, but also says 80 carrots of 61g carrots equal 2k calories. Those in the video must be large carrots.

Pre-packed salads have a lol of sodium to keep them from spoiling. They can also contain a lot of fat in the deli meat and salad dressing. So not as healthy as you might think.
PadeMoro that is true, but the prepackaged salads with dressing you can buy at our standard grocery store are usually around 200 cals so you could eat 10 of these, not 2 1/2..
I think those are literally drenched in Olive Oil, one tablespoon of oil has 180kcal, so put like 6 in that salad and you got 1080 per portion, plus the salad itself!

They take the vegetables, which would obviously not be that calories, they drench it in oils, dressings and condiments like mayo. This then adds up more and more to about 400 calories. Thats why a lot of fast food salads are said to be just as unhealthy as the burger-fries meals. Sometimes even moreso
I swear to you, I was using myfitnesspal and I was measuring everything on a scale and I thought I was consuming around 2500 calories per day. It was so tough to eat that much! However, I feel it had to do with the type of food I was eating as well. Nonetheless, I went to Dairy Queen the other day and easily ate 2 double cheeseburgers and 1 large shake which amounted to 2000 calories from one meal! Damn no wonder why so many people are fat! I never knew it took so little food to reach 2000-2500. Eating 2000-2300 calories is super tough when working out especially which is what I am maintaining at the moment.
I had the same realisation the other week! I try to at least consume 1400 calories of nutritious food on an everyday bases, but I decided to one night get a McDonalds shake as a little cheat meal and nearly died when I found out It had roughly 600 calories in it. If someone was eating food like that daily, they must be exceeding like 3000 calories
GeorgiaHalo Yeah it's crazy! It really hurts when trying to maintain or get closer to that goal of a super lean form. Planning diet is key and takes some time but it is definitely worth it when you see body fat losses and muscle gains.
I agree! it's shocking to find out how many calories and crap there are in fast foods. that's why I always make my own meals with zucchinis, broccoli, quinoa, brown rice, bell pepper etc. I'm only 14 but I'm glad I am not a fast food addict. in fact whenever someone brings over fast food, I can't stand to eat a piece. it's just so oily and disgusting
I wish it was that simple. I've told my mom time and time again to buy healthy foods, but she won't. I've even go shopping with her every time she goes and I still can't get her too. I recently got her to buy some fruit, which we haven't had in probably over a year. As for cooking myself, we still only have unhealthy foods, and I'm not much of a cook.
She doesn't, but it's great that you're trying to get healthy foods. I'm sure there are videos on here of how to pick out good meat.

You gotta cut out animal fat and start eating carbs, man. That's how you get your metabolism to start burning 2000-3000+ calories per day. FRUITS, VEGETABLES, POTATOES, PASTA, RICE. You can have it all, as much as you want. You just have to cut out the high fat, especially animal fat. Check out ***** for more info. :)

That does MAJOR metabolic damage and will end up destroying your health. I know it can be extremely difficult to get on the health journey when you don't have a supportive family, but you have options. 1. You can learn to start cooking for yourself! 2. You can get involved in what and where your parents shop. Right now is a great time of year because all the farmer's markets are opening back up, so you should ask your parents to take you to one! Get them hooked by telling them A) It'll be the best produce they've ever tasted = most delicious home cooked meals! B) WAAAAAAY CHEAPER!!! and C) You will look and feel way more vibrant eating fresh, local food! 3. Tell your parents you are "allergic" to foods like tons of meat, eggs, and dairy. Slowly complain about the way something makes you feel and how you are feeling sick. When it comes to allergies, people tend to have way more compassion and are exponentially more likely to accommodate you and your food needs. ALSO, switching to a grain-based, starch-based, carb-based diet saves your family TONS of money, so bringing that up to them may win them off. Good luck! I wish you the best on your weight loss journey!

I'm checking right now the sizes of pizzas in USA (I live in Italy) and I found that I was referring to a very different thing. In Italy pizzas have a maximum weight 300 g and they are intended to be eaten as a whole, in the USA a pizza could weigh from 500g to 1000g and it's intended to be eaten as 1 or 2 slices. Assuming that, the 2000 kcal figure is reasonable.

I think you should be looking less at calories, and more into what nutrients are in those foods. Almonds are packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, and healthy fats.
You need a big bunch of calories just to stay alive, even if you lay at bed all day long, so calories are only terrifying when you have certain mental health problems. Get it checked.

I always eat whatever I want! How do I do it? I follow the serving size and if you stick to the serving size on the label all the time you can lose weight (you have to exercise for at least 20 min every other day) so far I've lost 9 lbs!

And considering i am trying to lose weight, its fairly difficult and requires much determination. These days, whenever you go out to eat or order food, everything lists calories on. The other day, I was at mcdonalds, and the items added up to 1000 calories so quickly it was insane. It made me think of how easy it is to eat more than 2500 calories per day if you don't count your calories

Not too happy there kiddo, your metabolism is going to slow down as you age. That's why middle aged people tend to be bigger than say, 25 year olds.

So according to this i eat about 3500-4000 calories a day. Not all that surprising actually. Btw, the recommended 2000 calories a day thing is 100% total bullshit. The amount of calories you should consume per day varies greatly depending on how active your living style is. Not to mention the fact that we now know there are different types of calories that our body reacts to in various ways.
Its not recommended that you eat 2000 calories a day. An average adult male will burn about 2000 calories a day, at rest & an average adult female will burn about 1750 calories a day, at rest.... There's nothing recommended about it
There are no "different types of calories", a calorie is a measurement of energy; similar to watts or horsepower.

Your right, but a calorie is still a calorie. Your extra 1500-2000 calories a day is about the equivalent of 1.5-2 hours on a pushbike at medium exertion (assuming that you are of average weight, fitness & muscle density). If you were "burning" fat during that time, it would take more effort to maintain that medium exertion.
I'm agreeing with you but also emphasizing that, other than the effort to "burn" that calorie, 1 calorie of fat = 1 calorie of protein = 1 calorie of carbohydrate
