I’d love the overlap to be a monthly content throughout the season, when you consider how quickly positions change on weekly basis.

Thanks for this part of the overlap guys, I found the debate over the lower ranked teams in the league to be far more interesting, especially the part about Forest coming from the Championship.

Apart from saying he doesn't think Everton fans fear relegation and he's deluded if he doesn't think that's the case. Being behind Frank is irrelevant!! Toffee TV spend the majority of the season knocking out platitudes about just support the team / be positive / let's wait for DCL to show what he can do etc and when, like last season the inevitable happens, you get a flash of realism.
As a fan channel they haven't worked out how to marry being honest with successfully ingratiating themselves with former players and the club. I appreciate it's not easy to do, but some of their reactions to performances at the business end of the season are absurdly blinkered.

From a west ham fan, I find many Everton fans to be fairly realistic and understanding of where they have gone wrong over the past few seasons. A decent set of fans in comparison to many other clubs
Genuinely love these fan debates it’s such a great satisfaction for the football appetite when you just wanna talk opinions and sometimes facts without nonsense

Glad to watch and listen to Carragher and Gary Neville on this Overlap New season edition. The EPL is about kick off and various debates on different teams is welcomed. We should get to hear more of this discussions. As we await the new season and this time it will thrilling.

7:00 I like Nottingham Forest being in the Premier League. I love that the past giants of the English club scene like Leeds and Forest are back. Hopefully, they can both stay up and make the league better.
Think that's why they'll stay up. The spirit and atmosphere of the fans and the city. Everyone will be behind them.

I'm Chels and I love the fact the Prem has all the old boys back. I remember Forest as a kid getting promoted and winning the league, then winning the European Cup and retaining it! I thought that was amazing in the 70's. Yes I know Chels/Leeds hate each other, but I don't want them to go down. I love rivalry, it makes football. I still can see Bremner fighting Keegan on the pitch. I love football with all my heart. Defo got a arse groove on my sofa today!

Teams like Brighton brentford Palace Southampton are just ignored on these. I can accept the top 6 getting most of the discussion but at least give of those I mentioned a bit of time when they outperforming the others

This is what we want to hear! More discussion about the lower and mid table clubs, especially the new ones coming up into the Premier League. As a United fan I'm sick and tired of hearing about the 'Top 6' all of the time.
I wish this was like on maybe like after every 10 match days or something so it keeps updated because I could honestly watch this for hours on end

The VAR point is valid, open up the comms to fans. If I knew why a ref did/didn't give a decision it would sit easier, whereas if they went to the media afterwards they could just say "I can't recall that, I'd have to double check"

Lingard deal is great for both, they free up 200 in wages for season 2, and he has shown when he has space like he will get at forest about 12 extra points this season, I think he goes at end of season even if they stay up
I think it’s a gamble, there’s no guarantee he will reproduce the form he did for West Ham and do it for a season. He’s sat on his arse for another 18 months since that 16 game spell, so there’s question marks weather he is going to be able to hack playing week in week out in my book, it could be an expensive gamble.

I hope forest stay up and think they will steve Cooper is vest of the 3 managers and way he had them playin last season was great. Fulham relying on mitrovic scoring like he did last season and he won't. Bournemouth style won't keep them up either. I worry for Leeds losing 3 best players Everton need few signings too although I don't see richarlison as big loss. And Leicester will struggle if maddison goes and smicheal already gone

Not easy for any of the promoted clubs to stay up, but selecting them as the 3 relegation teams is the easy option.
Forest will stay up, I don’t think they know how good Brennan Johnson is or the impact of the City Ground atmosphere.

They would of if they hadn't totally disrupted the whole team by signing so many new faces. That's usually detrimental to teams when clubs do that.
@@jamesfretwell1511 It’s less the case they disrupted the whole team and more the case they HAD to make the signings to build the squad. Out of the team that started the play off final, 5 are no longer at the club, mainly due to loans, and a couple won’t be starting due to quality etc. So signing 12 or so players might be detrimental, but it was 100% necessary for the club to even try and survive! I also don’t think people give Cooper enough credit, as players are joining because of the project and the chance to work with him. Hoping for the best, but it’ll be a tough season!
@@JGFilms30 very true. I think 9 of the 18 in the play off final squad are no longer at the club due to being on loan, out of contract or wanting to leave.

I like it if the ref, linesman and VAR comms can be heard by fans in stadium and at home. It is like rugby where we can hear ref gives reason why a decision is given 👍👌gives more transparency
The Newcastle, Everton and Forest fans were were the best they've ever had on these shows, the ego and delusion on the fans in part 1 compared to this.

Next time make the 1st part about the top 6 and the second part about the other 14. Instead of 90% top 6 and 10% Everton, Newcastle and Leeds.
First, it was TalkSPORT. Now, it's G Nev and SkySports hating on Forest. We have the best young British manager in the Premier League and we've made some smart moves in the transfer market. It's going to be a tough old season but I think we will finish 16th. Everton, Leeds, Brentford, Fulham and Bournemouth are real contenders to go down.
