- Andrei Vasilevskiy made 29 saves for the shutout as the Tampa Bay Lightning beat the Florida Panthers 4-0 to advance to the second round of the playoffs.

That Point goal- nice pass by Kucherov and what an absolutely filthy move to finish.
It was great to see Point make that goal. He's been relatively quiet so far. I hope that was his awakening for the playoffs.
Made them look like a Jr hockey team with those moves. Ouch!
The way he can cut in on the goalie is beautiful, his edge work is incredible
first pass by #81 was quaterback stuff too

Tampa Bay, no matter the sport, continues to refuse to lose. This was a fun series, hopefully these 2 get matched up together again in the future

Goaltending is only solid if Spencer Knight progresses. Its a lot of pressure to heap on him so early, Drieger is likely leaving as a free agent and they are stuck with Bobrovskis massive contract. Solid team but to expect Knight to carry this team right now might be too much.

After winning last playoff series in 1996, the Panthers won 2 playoff games in 2021. Now that's steady progress in their 25-year rebuild !!
So much outstanding talent on one team. Makes ya wonder how they managed to pick up all this talent, and why certain other teams with money to waste failed to do the same. I guess it comes down to good management and people who know how to keep that talent in check. When players continue to improve beyond anyone's expectations, you know the team is doing something right as I see things.

The lightning Honestly have great scouts and coaches. Got kuch in the 2nd round, point in the 3rd, palat in the 7th Johnson and gourde were undrafted Killorn and Cirelli in the 3rd just to name a few. They find these underrated guys that turn into beasts.
Idk what these guys are even talking about but Tampa is well above $17,000,000 above the cap space. Were all literally witnessing a team cheat their way to the top. Oh well, any true hockey fan can see this and understand that Tampa bay is nothing but a bunch of scumbags

For cats fans, they really didn’t even play that bad, they just got frustrated and couldn’t score. Florida will have to fight their way into the playoffs in the future, but there’s no shame in losing to the defending champion. Good season.

Really entertaining. One of the only series I'd been watching outside of MIN v VGK. Vasilevskiy is just stupidly good, with lots of weapons in front of him.

The set play resulting in the first goal by TB is why they continue to win. Skill players up and down the roster but they play an exceptional system maximizing opportunities all over the ice.

A little annoyed that the end result was ruined by one of the other SportsNet highlight packages for one of the other games because I usually can't catch the games and can't wait til morning to watch the highlights to find out what happened. Oh well, still good hockey.

So glad the Flames got rid of Sam Bennett. Even though they didn’t make the playoffs, they finished the year strong. Next year will be a 2004 rematch since Darryl Sutter is the coach again with Martin Gelinas as an assistant. However Dave Lowry can still meet the Bolts since he’s an assistant for his son’s team.
