As soon as he got free space and gained speed, as if he had beaten Ekblad in training, showed Bobrovsky with all his appearance that he would throw himself, and without looking gave the transfer to Perry to an empty gate. Incredible hockey intelligence!

All these people in the comments complaining about the “goalie interference” goal without understanding that incidental contact outside of the crease doesn’t negate a goal is wild. Even Bobrovsky didn’t complain because he knew his head was outside of the blue paint.

I've watched and played alot of hockey. To me, it was a good goal and a desperation challenge by Florida. They are not calling that goalie interference, not in the playoffs.

I would have been more pissed if the Panthers scored on the Macdonah penalty than if the goal was overturned. Just my opinion. Also the puck going up into the netting, 4 officials on the ice and not a single one watched the puck?
@@jolbertti7421 Cirelli didn’t hit Bobrovsky, he was screening him. Bobrovsky decided to come out of the paint and his head brushed against Cirelli, not goalie interference
When Kuch is healthy and and Vasy is playing lock down goalie, Lightning are nearly impossible to beat. Panthers are a really good team but they just don’t have the experience to match up against the Lightning.

Man I don't know, but Tampa ain't gonna go away quietly. This might not mean much but Vasy's GAA/SV% in 88 playoff games is 2.30/.922. Bob's in 47 games is 3.18/.900. We'll have to see how it plays out hopefully it's a close and great series!

Wow, 2 teams from Florida in playoff hockey, born in Boston in 1960 hockey's in my blood, back then Florida was the last place hockey was even thought about, now it's a great hockey state, Kuch is amazing, lightning are tough, panthers gotta bring it next game, playoff hockey is much tighter defensively, you gotta bury your chances, regular season there's room to make plays, playoffs open ice is contested closely, nothing quite like playoff hockey. 🏒🇺🇸🇨🇦

Can Bob do it again. The first time he almost got pulled but they kept him in net and he shut the door down the rest of that game so the Blue Jackets could tie it and win the game. They would've been eliminated but from there on he was in the zone long enough for them to win the series. Now that's what a elite goalie does. They either bounce back from a bad loss, make big saves at key times, and the best suddenly become a brick wall right when the team needs it the most. Plus, they carry it on and on for a deep run or all the way to win the cup. Jonathan Quick 2012 comes to mind. He was a big game goalie.

Anyone who has been watching/following Hockey for a while...(I started in 93), Knows, nothing is more common in the NHL, than teams that 'Tear it up' in the Regular Season, getting embarrassed in the first 2 rounds. Tampa is a great example from 2 years ago, when they got swept by Columbus in the First Round. The NHL Playoffs is a whole nother game and season, unto itself. Seeds 3,4 and 5, Tend to reach the Final's the most...

Lightning are just the better, faster, motivational, more experienced team. The Panthers did not play like it was anywhere near a playoff game, and there was no drive. I would be surprised if this series even goes past five games at this rate. Unfortunately I see Tampa winning in 5 with all regulation wins. The one win we get may be in overtime.
Nah this is going six or seven games easily. Sometimes more rest can be a disadvantage to a team. I’m a lightning fan, but I don’t think the Panthers will just roll over for us. It’s only game 1. I think they’re figuring out our team and adjusting. I expect them to play better and possibly even win game 2.
I know it's early in this series but after this game at the Panthers I feel good about Tampa winning this series.

@@lidfromla8758 Tampa got called for a penalty on a clean open ice hit when the game was extremely close. It happened right before the Panthers almost got away with the second goal. It wasnt interference, top down angle show goalie was leaning out of the crease.

I had a feeling Tampa was gonna roll in this game. As much as I love my Caps we are old, slow and broken down. And Florida still had some problems taking us out. Tampa and Toronto meanwhile were playing a high level series. And Tampa found their footing late in that series. I don't think Florida has what it takes to beat Tampa 4 times in this series.
