Really would have loved to see the Panthers go on a serious run this season, but Tampa Bay played a perfect series. The shots were there for the Panthers, but not the goals. Vasy, the defense, and some big goals really helped Tampa this series. Best of luck to them against either Carolina or New York. Playoff Vasy is just a lunatic. Unreal game today!

Vasilevskiy is by far the best Goalie in the world. The things he do is unreal. I feel bad for Florida fans but I think the Lightning are not slowing down anytime soon. I could see them in the finals again and possibly winning it.

I agree that some of the things he does are inhuman, but what does it for me is the consistency, with very little to no mistakes at all. It’s the calmness and always knowing the right place to be. A true all star

The Tampa Bay team that beat Florida today is impressive in that they lost the complete line of Coleman-Gourd-Goodrow from last year and replaced them almost seamlessly with players like Perry and Paul. I almost forgot that Point didn't even play in this series and many thought his injury would be deciding factor.

Прошли мертвый Нэшвилл без напряга , сейчас пройдут Сент-Луис , который уже сдох физически к 4ой игре , а дальше будет команда одного звена в лице Эдмонтона , который также 4-1 4-0 разнесут... когда соперники по плей-офф дно , о каком КС может идти речь? Ветка Тампы просто в разы сильнее по командам , нежели ветка Колорадо, ну не поверю я что два звена могут укомплектованную по всем позициям Тампу обыграть.

Насколько мне известно, у чемпионского Бостона тоже было плохое большинство, и тащил кипер. В итоге 4-3 с Монреалем, 4-0 с Филой, 4-3 с Тампой и 4-3 с Ванкувером. В нынешней Флориде проблема даже не в плохом большинстве, а в том, что Барков, Юбердо и Верхеги замолчали. В том Бостоне и Бержерон, и Маршан, и Крейчи играли всё время и с постоянством
Well Tampa was supposed to just step aside for both Toronto, and Florida. I'm guessing the same will be true against whomever they face next. Heck they should just hand the cup over according to all the talking heads.

I'm not sure what everyone else was thinking, but I was expecting the winner of Toronto vs Tampa to make it to the ECF at least; they're both really strong teams, and you could tell just by the hockey they were playing that they wouldn't bow out easily.
Florida just isn't really a playoff team, and even though they beat Washington, you could tell they weren't that President's Trophy team they had been. Plus Tampa had to play much tougher hockey compared to Florida; Tampa was ready while Florida never got the chance to really kick it into gear. By this point I think if Carolina doesn't beat them, they're going to be an official dynasty.

Andrew Brunette needs to go. I think this series and that pathetic pp in the whole playoffs proves it was Q's system that got them the president's trophy. If they're smart they go hard after a guy like Trotz. Are they going to be smart enough to do that? I doubt it.

I know NHL math can be flawed, but it’s looking like the dog fight with Tampa Bay will age very well for the Leafs. As for the Panthers, at least we were able to hang with them and they had Point (which was one of their better players) for the majority of our series.

Panthers played great hockey but were doomed in the playoffs by a powerplay that sucked more than a typical CZcams comment section. Bolts were just the better team and wanted it more. Still a great team with lots to be proud of, and a bright future.

The quality of hockey between the Leafs and Tampa was completely superior. The Leafs were clearly more playoffs ready than Florida this year.

They are going to make it to the finals. I think neither the Rangers nor the Hurricanes will stop them. I don't like the Lightning much because I'm a habs fan and it's hard to forget about Kucherov during last year's final, but they are an amazing team. And they are built for the playoffs. Whatever you see in the regular season is not their best.

Just to add.... Lightning forward, Pat Maroon, has now won 14 straight playoff series going back to 2019 when he was with the St. Louis Blues. The last time he lost a playoff series was when he was with the New Jersey Devils in the 2018 Eastern Conference First Round series against the team he's currently with, the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tampa Bay proved in this series with their stifling defense and unbelievable goaltending from Andrei Vasilevskiy (only gave up 3 goals in the entire series) why they are the 2X Defending Champions and I would not want to be Carolina or the NY Rangers having to face the Bolts in the East Finals
Well, don't forget the series against Toronto. This one with Florida is not just luck of course but it's clearly also not something "expected". Colorado, Blues are definitely even rivals to Tampa. Florida just got unlucky on that game with "beat the buzzer goal".
@@naturalrock5674 honestly? No. Tampa outside game 4 absolutely dominated the panthers. Limited to 1 goal averaging like 20-30 blocked shots a game and scored 3-5 goals a game. Again not including game 4. Game 2 was a moral breakdown for the panthers

I still say pre cap era upsets are bigger like Pittsburgh vs Islanders in 1993. Red Wings vs Sharks 1994. Oilers vs Red Wings 2006 . Montreal vs Washington 2010. Anaheim vs Detroit 2003 . Minnesota vs Colorado 2003 .

For the second straight year the team that eliminated the Leafs in the first round went on to sweep their next opponent.
The Leafs took the Lightning all the way to game 7 and only lost by 1 goal, while the Panthers couldn’t even win one game. Just goes to show what an excellent team the Leafs have. I look forward to them being an even better team next year and I’m not even a Leafs fan. I just think the Leafs were way over criticized for not beating the Lightning. Let’s see if any other team can do better than the Leafs, because it sure wasn’t the Panthers.

Such an empty feeling right now. The Panthers will never have a season like this again (pre-playoffs) - the improbable comebacks, the individual records, the team records etc. For it to not result in even a Stanley Cup Final is incredibly disappointing. I'm sure one day they'll win the big one, but it will almost certainly come after a less eventful regular season.

As a Bolts fan, I wanted this series to be what the TOR series was. It would've been great for building a rivalry, and even better for hockey as a whole in the state. But at the same time, holding the President's Cup winners and highest scoring team in the league to 3 goals in 4 games is quite a delight. Go Bolts!

If you just looked at the SOGs, you would think the Panthers dominated; but if you looked at the actual chances, they maybe had 5 really good shots (triple post included). The other shots were just getting it on net that Vasy was able to stop. VASY is definitely the GOAT or will be.

Since the day the Habs beotched-slapped the Panthers 10-2… The Florida Panthers went on to win only 4 of their next 11 games (3 of which were consecutive) and the 4 wins came against one of the most prolific choking playoff teams (Capitals).

Florida would have never beat Washington if Wilson didn’t get injured game 1. He’ll Wash was one empty net away from 3-1 series lead.
And if the caps had a slightly better goalie it would've been a sweep. They basically gave the blueprints on how to beat the Panthers to the bolts.

Tampa (being a fantastic team too) will take advantage of that and get an early lead in the series. They’ll hang on to win the series in six to seven games. Every team unfortunate enough to run into them on a streak has been barreled through like a canon ball through tissue paper. And lest we forget the cup finals will have Point coming back after missing out for basically 3 entire series, and he has 14 points to score so he can make it three consecutive post-seasons; that man is going to be unstoppable
