This is a great vid, I think my fav so far! Editing and commentary are super polished, the deck is super interesting and the gameplay is a great mix of seeing the deck shine and some of its weaknesses. Always good to focus on the jank working as planned! Thanks so much for uploading, great content as always!
P.S, you might want to try these decks in ranked. I don't find the meta there is any more difficult that unranked, at least in the lower ranks, and I seem to come across less trashy rogue mill decks. YMMV 🤷

My guess is that it is not competitive because you need the Nexus to be good. But it looks super fun.

Ive been playing a lot of Commander lately, and have been specifically trying to make a solid Maskwood Nexus based deck. It's fun to see one pop off much easier than what I'm trying
I made a giant deck and had two calamity bearers in play. Wasn't paying attention and attacked with both for 32 damage.
Seeing you put this together on stream was the highlight of my weekend! Now I get to relive the awesomeness on my lunch break :D twitch notifications are on and I look forward to catching the next rare stream!

Maskwood Nexus is one of my favorites of the set. I play friendly brawl with some folks, and run it with Tolsimir and ETB / death effects, paired with Broodmoth.

what a brilliantly janky deck, i like this one as much as the hoplite/reflection deck (which by the way has been great fun, sooooo many scoops when you drop 70 tokens). you're killing it with Kaldheim, i don't think i've seen anyone else really embrace it's awesome jank potential as much as you have.

Aren't all your creatures Enchanment Creatures as well? I mean Archon + Nexus + the Party guy ... I don't know if Enchanment Creature is an actual type though, it might be worth trying it. I'm so gonna steal this.
Maskwood only gives everything all CREATURE types, not all types entirely. So it doesn't make creatures become enchantments too.

So I was playing around a bit with different color combinations for Maskwood Nexus tribal jank. One of the biggest problems I found is that w/o Maskwood Nexus in play these decks are mostly garbage with no synergy. So the way I see it there are two solutions. Either introduce one or two good sub tribal mechanics that synergize w/o maskwood or introduce a way to get access to Maskwood Nexus more consistently. So I opted for RWU so I could introduce Fae of Wishes and The Raven's Warning. Put one Maskwood in the side board and go from there. Blue also gives access to Nimble Trapfinder which is pretty solid. I think another good idea is to include about 2 copies of Goldspan Dragon. Synergizes great with Magda and Dragonkin Berserker and is really solid in it's own right. Anyway, just some thoughts.

That is a very fun looking deck. I always forget party because i was so underwhelmed by it when zendikar rising came out, i don't think i will make a party deck anytime soon, but this was a fun watch atleast. I'm sure there are more Nexus shenanigans on their way.

Don't have all the cards? There are lots of good substitute cards available. Search for glory (sub in snow lands) to get key pieces. Worthy Knight (all creature spells you cast are knights). Inspiring Veteran (all creatures you control are knights). Kaheera (all creatures are cats, etc). Kargan Warleader (all creatures you control are warriors). Basalt Ravager (deals x damage to any target where x is the number of creatures you control). Goblin Trashmaster (all creatures are goblins, good sideboard against artifact decks). Kargan Intimidator (all your creatures are warriors). Lots and lots of options out there.
If you had blue in the mix, you could play the UNPLAYABLE Serpent Of Yawning Depths and make your creatures unblockable!
It's not unplayable, It is pretty impressive in my shapeshifters simic deck. You built up your board with bears of littjara, bloodline pretenders, realmwalkers etc. and then the serpent becomes a massive threat. If you manage to have Koma as well on the field it's pretty much gg.

I played against it on stream then built my own version. So, no! Lots of my decks are my own creations, but lots of them are actually from opponents.
I would say the stream opponent's was more "lords tribal", whereas this really is "tribal tribal" - a little more variety of tribal effects than just buffs everywhere. Was really cool to see the original inspiration get personalized without losing the core idea.
@@jerodast Yeah it was a different deck for sure (we only saw a fraction of the thing, too), but I still want to give them credit for the idea. It is a brilliant idea.

It won't though! Winota doesn't work at all with Nexus because she requires a non-human creature to attack. And all creatures are humans.
@@AbsurdHeroine oh I meant when putting one in play, but that would never trigger while attacking. Back to the drawing board
