    Best Halloween movies are Army of Darkness and Rocky Horror Picture Show in a close tie. Nice deck ideas - once again, you've put together a lot of synergistic card combinations. The return from the graveyard of the 0/0s that have +1 counters to take advantage of Nethroi - that's really clever.

    That Lotus IS a bit "Little Shop of Horrors"-y, isn't it! Nice Halloween pet. Although I wouldn't oppose the trusty black cat either. Assuming it wouldn't give us all combo deck PTSD...

    I'll just go with a mass market option with Ghostbusters, admittedly not the scariest movie - although some of the bits nearer the end definitely stuck in my mind as a kid - but especially because it doubles as an answer to "Halloween movie" AND "Halloween song" haha.

    Happy to see you return! This deck is really fun, and I so want to build around it. Fun thing, Scourge of the Skyclaves makes a great addition here. It interacts with Nethroi in a weird way; if either player causes it’s power to become negative, it actually adds to Nethrois ability, so you have a higher total power number!

    • @jerodast
      @jerodast Před 3 lety +1

      Woooo cool! I was thinking of the "negative numbers act like they don't exist" rule, but that turns out to ONLY apply to "the result of an effect" (incl. combat damage), not to any intermediate calculations like I was thinking. Rule 107.1b of the 9/25/20 rules if anybody wants to join me in nerd-lawyering :P

    My deathtouch tribal deck from last standard really did feel like a zombie apocalypse, what with all the zombies (mire triton, foulmire knight) and its extreme usage of rabid bite and other bite effects. I miss that deck. It just isn't the same without WotS Vraska and season of growth.
    As for my favorite Halloween movie, its definitely Monster Club. A vampire takes a horror author to a nightclub for monsters, and it alternates between catchy, monster themed, British pop-punk concert scenes and horror shorts (featuring Vincent Price). The whole club is just people in silly masks and the music is surprisingly good
    Its stupid fun and I don't know why it doesn't have a cult following.

    Do you ever have fun guessing where people are from? I do. I've been looking at you and I've been speculating. I'm from northern Europe, so obviously my ability to catch dialects and such is limited, but by your style and demeanour, I figured you had to be from the east coast, probably an urban setting with some old family history possibly. You're a mix of rough and sophisticated. A natural candidate would be NY, but that would just be a wild guess. But then I just now heard your pronunciation of the word "card". Seemed to me like you had some fun with saying it that way but that it's within your sphere so to speak, and I thought aha: Boston! So I checked your Instagram, and there it was; Massachusetts. I took a long time before I got the final clue I needed, but now I am so proud of myself.

      @jerodast Před 3 lety +1

      I find Slitherwisp to be even worse with no removal, because then it's basically "oh...so...you never run out of cards now, okay" whereas at least with the mill stuff they still need to do something to keep the engine running. Long story short I hate that metadeck magic is won or lost by "did you draw your removal", oh well.
