      Hi. Just wanted you to know I built almost the exact same deck here and tried it out for a couple games. First game I won very easily by killing everything he played and Binding put Fynn out and it was over quick, as I attacked with 4 deathtouchers, after they already had 2 poison counters.
      Second game was more difficult, as he played a Skyclave and later a Banishing Light and 1 Ominous Sea early, but Gemrazer took care of Ominous Sea and Blizzard took care of Skyclave and I just beat them down to zero life with only 3 lands in play, as Binding, once more, brought Fynn back.
      Yeah, this deck is ridiculous, lol.

    I make a Deathtouch tribal deck in every set, the poison mechanic is great.
    Also Toski is surprisingly great in a bunch of green/golgari decks. I have a Garruk Trample deck with Garruk's Uprising to give all creatures Trample, letting me get huge card draw even when getting chump blocked.

  • @endlesstidesofphyrexia4357

    Rune Of Mortality on Toski is hilarious. I run that little combo in my version. But I wouldn't know what to cut in your version...

    • @jerodast
      @jerodast Před 3 lety +1

      It's an nonbo for all but one card in the deck since they all already have deathtouch :) You'd have to use more Toskis to justify putting in even one Rune, which means even more cuts...tough fit.

  • @spodbox
    @spodbox Před 3 lety

    A few points:
    - Grimdancer is too slow and clunky. You need something that acts as a backup win condition in case Fynn doesn't show up, and Hooded Blightfang fits the bill, and is easier to cast.
    - Toski is the surprise MVP of the deck. So much so, I've added a second and am seriously considering a third (he does suck hard in multiples, tho). He simply outruns most midrange and can give control serious fits.
    - Chevill is probably better than Mire Triton, but he requires dual lands, weakening the snow aspect. The snow aspect isn't critical, but it can lead to some serious blowouts. Still, the extra card draw and toughness on Chevill just works better in the long run (*cough* Stomp *cough*)
    - Agadeem's Awakening is an easy add once you get past maxing the snow aspect. You have to adjust the curve to maximize it, but once done it makes for huge comebacks against board sweepers. It can easily replace the Binding of the Titans, which doesn't do anything.
    - Gemrazer is good in theory, but I find that it is either sitting in my hand (because Fynn and Chevill are humans) or not pushing through because a Lovestruck Beast is in the way. He also doesn't do much if the target creature is killed before it is mutated. I'm not sure what to put here though, maybe Binding the Old Gods.
    In short, this deck surprised me after the failed attempt to make a deathtouch deck after M21. The additions from Kaldheim really increased its power and I get turn 4 wins quite often now.

    I hope you present a counter deck towards this overwhelmingly boring and annoying meta deck. If your decks don't have a explicit strategy against deathtouch you can quit rather early. It seems 60-70% are playing poison decks at the moment. The only difference in their decks is the CZcamsr Channel they copied it from.
    It might be an effective deck to win but in my opinion it ruins every aspect of fun in the game. With the alternative win condition and cards like ram through there aren't many deck combos that can work against it.
    Ugin is the most annoying card in standard. If you don't hold back a concrete planeswalker removal card through out the whole game.. There are almost no answers to him because with his 7 marks there isn't much that can be left standing on the battlefield.

      The alt win is dependent on a single card, as well as creatures hitting the opponent (the same interaction that also causes regular wins); Ram Through is simply removal, a staple in any deck. What is so terrible about those concepts? If it's annoyingly powerful, maybe the meta isn't balanced, but in terms of basic archetype this is simply...a creature synergy deck, like a million others. There's nothing inherently different about it.
      And what does Ugin have to do with it?

      @@jerodast She mentioned Ugin in the video. I share the same reluctance.
      Yes, it is simple and it effective. But if your deck isn't build to handle this or is build for removal. You almost got no chance.
      And there is no counterpart to deathtouch except maybe indestructible.
