I’m deeply disturbed that Bean would throw away everybody she grew close to just to be with Mora like she easily can’t do both
She doesn’t seem as depressed about Luci dying as she did for Mora and she flat out abandoned Elfo

Exactly! It was so sad to see Elfo not be able to say goodbye to Bean. I thought surely she will come back! And she cared much more about Mora than when her dad told her not to sacrifice herself because he loves her. She cared much more about Mora than her dad, Elfo and Lucy

Crazy how the show wanted to give Bisexual points to Bean so bad with introducing Mora but they sacrificed Bean’s character to make this happen.

You’re right it felt like the show runner just threw the show bible away and said wrap this s#it up. Bean was like an entirely different person and most of the threads that were supposed to connect were just burned. It was giving “our writers are on strike and we gotta finish this show”.
I wondered about the strike for a hot second, but animation takes so long they surely wrote everything ages before the strike started. It’s just really sad that we had the chance for some incredible answers and reveals, and most of them were nothing. We spent SO LONG with the curse and the Steamland intrigue that went nowhere!

It's all on Netflix and its decision to downsize adult animated series due to them being not as profitable as they wish.

I was disappointed with the season but i wasn't mad. it has holes and feels rushed but I'm okay with what we got. It feels like the team got rushed to finish the show.
I had loved this series so dearly that I’m not okay with where it ended. There’s too many moments that brought up issues that it didn’t bother with (Freckles, the talking throne, the Og dynasty curse, etc).
@TheFangirlWatches The thing is it was having a rocky time. And Netflix has been getting trigger happy with canceling shows. I'm happy we actually got a ending. It wouldn't have surprised me if they tried to cancel it
I agree! I have a lot of questions and it definitely was bitter sweet but it’s definitely my comfort show now to watch over again and never get bored of it. I’m just said the friend group went away without any real goodbyes, realistically speaking I guess not all friendships end tht way either
The only reason it seems rush is because it’s suspected this was meant to be a 60 episode show however they had to rush it for only one more season
This is why they won't put in any effort into their scripts. People just eat up the garbage and happily beg for more.
Also Pendergast's head randomly appearing in a jar and coming to life, seemed like it was leading somewhere

Dang, I do wish the ending was better. Or at least a season 6 to make it less cluttered. Oh well, we can only imagine what season 5 and 6 would be like in that timeline
They spread the story out too widely and just couldn't get it back together in time with the alleged season 6 cut. 😑
I didnt get the crown plot. All seasons Dagmar needed Bean so she could put the crown on her head so something could happen (i think to be the most powerful magic user?). But in the 5th season she just wanted to kill her, like she wouldnt need her all of a sudden, even when bad bean (who she planned to crown istead) dies. And then she puts the crown on HER head? Why? Like nothing happend - if she was to screw it on her head why didnt she do it right in the 2nd season? Also what was the crown suppoused to do? I do not know. Does anyone know or have any ideas?
It was something connected to the grandmother MariaBeanie, but, yeah, even at the end of season 4 Dagmar is like "it's fine, we just need the fake Bean's head and the crown" but then they explain NOTHING further!
The reason why gods head was a light bulb is because he’s literally just an idea lol. I think that’s where they were going with that.
Yeah but the effectiveness of that is lessened when we have lightbulb head robots too. That made it too confusing! I thought Alva made God.

Yeah, I was also annoyed that the Og curse and the elf kingdom weren't mentioned. You were right though. There was meant to be 6 seasons, but Netflix only gave them one last season. So, they clearly didn't have time to finish everything.
I've always found the show flawed tbh. Like, a bit too flawed. In season 4, every plot point that was left from season 3 got delt with in like, the first 2 episodes. A but too rushed for me.
I thought Freckles wasn't used to his full potential either and Luci dying was really dumb. Didn't understand that. I thought Satan was gonna bring him back when he saved his tail.
Also, I think it's implied that God is a robot from Steamland? That's what I took from that.
It sas Actually foreshadowed for a long time that Mary would take over Dreamland. In season 3, there a really quick scene when you see her sitting on the throne.
Lastly, idk if you saw the post credit scene, but I actually found that to be the most confusing part. Didn't understand it at all.
I really wanted to like Disenchantment, but overall. I think the show only gets a 5 from me. (Sorry for my long comment)
The post-credit scene was basically a nod to Elfland in the first season and a way to close Dreamland's story.
Although, it can always shows to the guests and people can come and go, so whatever.
For me the show was a 6-7 for how decent it was, but indeed the last seasons and the rushed pace kinda delibitate them.
I'm upset that we never got to see the prophecy work.
Freckles’s backstory was one stuff I wanted to know more about.

Even being completely disturbed by Freckles, I agree, they shouldn't have started that "ma" stuff if they weren't going to follow through!
They need to make a movie for this series to tie up all the loose ends

I enjoy the ending because I understand the show was cut a season short. But I wont act like i wasnt let down by the MANY threads that went NOWHERE
I can be empathetic that they didn’t get an extra 10 episodes like they planned, but, just…. why did the start adding in new issues, like Freckles being Bean’s “brother” when there was no time to hash out any of that?!
This is the classic case of show needing another season to properly finish, but execs just cancell it because they feel like it..
I was also very disappointed that the river of joy in heaven that comes from angel tears didn't change it's effect after this big crying session after God's death

Missed Plotholes: Why was Zog a mermaid at all on the rug hanging in the Dreamland throne room? What about the water trogs? They're just done? Why was the Dreamland castle filled with so many water creatures and whatnot on the walls, etc., possible ties to the mermaid kingdom? I need answers, people.....
I wish we even had clues to offer up for theories, but there's nothing! It's maddening!

It’s so silly that Dagmar only one who uses the magic. I was practically yelling for Elfo and Luci to jump into the pond and start throwing their own lightning instead of blindly, throwing themselves at her knees
I totally agree, she didn’t even say goodbye to elfo after all he did for her, like she said to Mora “before you I didn’t know what it was to be love” … what a full of sh”t , elfo was the first one to really truly love her and give everything for her. Also Luci die because of Bean stupid fault, if she have being there to fight next to his truly friends instead of crying for a girl she only knew for a week max. she only care about Mora Daying but not the people that have being there for her all this time and that have love her truly, even is because of Luci that Mora came back to life but at the end that sacrifice was not need in the first place , Luci didn’t deserve to die. I think this lesbian love was to over made , I mean to the point at first when bean is save by her step mom and thinks elfo has die and didn’t make it but after he survives and come at the end alive when everything falls instead of she being happy she didn’t lose another love one she doesn’t even looks at him

I don’t know but bean was a completely contradiction , all the character development she made thru the series she throw it away in the last episodes specially sense just that mermaid die. Luci, Elfo and mot girl deserve better.

Elfo, Lucy, and Mop Girl spend so much time hiding Bad Bean's body that it feels like a drag. It's ridiculous that they could've used the time to address something more important to the plot. And this season is not funny at all, the only time I laugh is when Bunty says boom boom boom in the first few episodes.
I liked it, considering it -had- to be rushed with the strike. I watched it from start to end having never seen it, and it was painfully funny as much as it is stupid at times. Old Man Touchy escaped, but I think laughing horse got left at the side show in Steamland. I don't like how Chazzzzz ended up over there either, just out of nowhere. I wish we got to see some more of Giggles and his relationship with his several Grandmas.

No, but there is a ride for Dreamland in another city and it is extremely convoluted and confusing. I’d have preferred no set ending than trying to force all these plot lines to converge too quickly.
I'll still take it over Star vs.
Star's logic was like "Wait, if we kill magic, then no one is the rightful ruler anymore" and I was like "That seems to create more problems than solve them..." considering they've never gone without magic...wht was even the point of glossaric trying to keep the magic safe if he was just going to let star do that?
Oooooh was that the ending? I so vaguely remember it as Star and her family giving up the throne, but I couldn’t exactly remember why.

And for some reason...two queens combined with two princesses couldn't defeat her because she was made with solaria's magic.
But Mina technically wanted to end the monster race so that Moon could be the rightful ruler.
In Moon's defence, she didn't ask for that.
Anyway so Star decides that killing magic will defeat Mina.
I think they just wanted season 4 to end.
At least with disenchantment we got...something while star kind of gave us nothing at the end.
I mean sure star and Marco are together but...that felt less important than the queens and the magic ect...
Oh I forgot to mention, star and moon aren't related to eclipsa. They actually came from peasant folk. Festevia was adopted by the kingdom as an orphan to replace meteora.
So that's why moon stepped down.
Only the kingdom was already attached to moon so the mewni broke off into two large groups.
Imo bean and mora didn't go to mermaid Island but the abandoned beach with the little sea shack mora mentioned b4
I loved the ending even with the plot holes. I do believe they could of done a lot more better. The plot holes that bug me is steam land seemed to be hiding secrets, everything felt connected for a moment then it wasn't, and the whole God thing with the light bulb
Mora would’ve come back to life, without any intervention if Bean had put her in the ocean instead of on the rock just above where the magic infected water would be so stupid.
In their defense, I heard they're making a comic that takes place in this show's universe.
this is defiently a interesting perspective. i only liked the finale because it had a lot of hidden meanings in it regarding consciousness and the metaphysical. its littered all over it.

the miri elfo paring was cute, litterally the dream of every guy in a relationship, just supercute and hearthwarming
most of the rest was badly executed like they wanted to cram 3 seasons of content into one,
in fact we had no elfo+miri buildup at all
Hundred percent, there was such a rush to end the show that there was a lot of unresolved plot holes and events that didn't get addressed. Like this was foreshadowed for like almost four seasons of the importance of candy a$$ It literally lights up during the battle and then nothing it never gets brought up. And then the Castle vanishes at the end the post credits. Like this big build for nothing. As well as the underwater Trogg's didn't quite get a good conclusion with that. I also felt like there had some kind of set up for freckles that just didn't get a payout. As well as the ending of the battle , Bean literally had to sike herself up to permanently. Erase her mom from everything. And yet they just stabbed her with a crystal and settled for that. Also for five seasons of Bean ,elfo and lucy being the best of friends and family to each other, Literally all separated lucy in heaven, Bean takes off and doesn't say good bye to anybody. Like elfo was owed a goodbye atleast. Plus I felt that Bean didn't really care about anybody outside of Mora towards the end. The one positive I can take out of this is that they gave Una her moment in the spotlight, Like she was the star at the end she was more of a mother to Bean. And she actually genuinely loved Bean.
Honestly Disenchantment is like a flawed yet beautiful mess somewhat similar to Legend of Korra. There’s Genuinely Amazing potential in this show to be great but much of it is either shoved aside and forgotten or never addressed.
Honestly Owl House Season 3, even when shortened and held back STILL had a more cohesive storyline and enjoyable ending than Disenchantment in my honest opinion.

Im happy that at least we got a final season 😂 Differently from other series from Netflix. But yeah, many plotholes and it was veeery rushed. Netflix wanted to end all the animated adult series, so it did not get a part 6, and they had to end all of it in 1 more season.
And I do appreciate that they're trying to fit 20 episodes worth of story into 10, but there was a LOT they could have cut out to avoid adding in confusion (and use that time for tying up more loose ends!) like the throne seeming to talk and everything about Freckles! 😅

Im not sure what happened honestly. Was 10 episodes not enough time? If not, then storytelling should be prioritized instead of getting lazy.
It very much felt like they had more to cover than they had time to cover it. BUT, there was lots they could have either cut out or just not have introduced.
i think they just stayed with their original plan for Season 5 and made it somehow end (quite lazy, they had the longest production time even despite the end of covid):
1. there are plots who go nowhere (Dagmar crowning herself, Satan being Luci's father, God getting killed, bean wanting to destroy dagmar & the magic)
2. there are mostly unneccary plots (the insane asylum, the heaven scene, multiple quite long battle scenes)
3. some things are just rushed (Freckles being Beans brother, Mop Girl being an orphan & half-elf, the whole brain thing) and no real reveals compared to season 4 (imo they just cut new hints out f the dialogue because there is no season 6)
4. while some endings are quite open (Mop Girl becoming the queen & Zog going into the woods, Dagmar being put in the cage), Bean just leaves and like Luci having an ending which are presented as final
It's incredibly frustrating to think that a show that moved forward so slowly and calmly had to end so quickly
Netflix may not have canceled the show but they still managed to ruin it.
Freckles is basically a deleted character, the Secret Society not explored, the curse on Dreamland not even mentioned, Luci's death was rendered anticlimatically.
I loved season 5 and I loved the finale, but personally I would have rather been here waiting another 10 episodes after another broken season finale
But i'm very happy with the story between Mop Girl and Elfo, they saved the ending
Also can I just add, why was satan so pathetic? like if this all revolves around a deal with hell why would the person with the most power in hell, the ruler of hell, be pathetic? isn't he supposed to be someone who's difficult to contend with?
They were probably planning for him to have a big comeback and regain his self esteem or something but they ran out of time so in the end all he did was imprison Dagmar
Hi. So happy that I found videos about this season. Just finished it and I was so confused. There was just too much going on and it was so rushed... I was thinking most of the same things as you while I was whatching the s5. And now when I watched this video I am even more confused because now I remeber more what happened in previous seasons. And now I am crying for all the plotholes even more.
Also I would have liked to see Bean, Elfo and Luci doing more together. I actually liked mopgirl but she gets too little time and feels like they needed someone to be at beans place while bean is just focused on love.
I mean that series was never my top favaurite but I still thought it was good and had potential. it's sad how it really missed it's potential... Things just got messy and nothing made sence... such a shame... This would have been best season which puts all the wires together but no... just a big wtf.😢

I dont know hkw to feel with season 5 . Realistically this was prob the best we cpuld hope for after cut bad from 6 to 5 seasons but it just upsetting . The show was clearly bulding uo so many good plot threads that would have had futurama level forshadowing and reveals ans instesd we get nothing that makws sense. Im hapoy we got an ending at all but we def missedout on something that was gonna be better
I can only imagine that Netflix cancelled Part 6 immediately after production finished on Part 4, so there was no way to change what they worked on, as there is no way they would’ve set up so many loose ends if they knew the show would stop at Part 5
I love Disenchanted so much, I watch it all the time. The Octopus eat the sea-captain. Stop complaining so much and just enjoy a fantastic show! :D

Her story was set up from season 1.

This was a side note but in a separate video. It was theorized that Alvo/Alva spell check? Was intending to go to a whole different planet. If you look at the moon before they land, there is another earth-like planet in the back. And that's what he meant when he said he needed bean. Her powers could power the rocket to make it there.
I agree with everything you said. Except maybe even as reckless as Luci is maybe he didn't mention the magic ball's ability for time travel because of the risks. Also I can only suspect mop girl got more main stage to give Lauren Tom more of a part. Was freckles alive before amateur wizard did anything? Chaz was too annoying to be in the show in general. Steamland was ridiculous. They should of focused on medieval humor. Not industrial revolution humor. They had a lot to work with already. And they never really explained the relationship between magic and stience. I hate shows that show so much potential and don't capitalize on most of it.

I thought the ending was petty good myself. I can’t say that there were no holes in it, but overall it was satisfying and funny enough for me that I thought it was a fairly alright season to end the show on myself. Its also really hard not to feel for shows that get their episode numbers slashed down, especially with everything going on right now in the industry, so personally I just can’t discount that from my analyses from shows like Disenchantment either. I hope that going forwards you’ll be able to find some cartoons and movies that you actually do like watching though!
Mora was pointless. She was only good as the voice of that crazy squirrel.
I stopped watching around Seasons 3-4 because a lot of the show was starting to feel more disorganised.

I'm so onboard with everything that you mentioned that I'm sure we share a brain. It was an absolute CHORE to get through this last season but I'd noticed a dip in the writing in season 4 but it literally fell off a cliff in season 5.
Your comment regarding a new show runner coming in and discarding the show bible were my thoughts exactly. So many off hand comments relating to things that dreamlanders should have no clue about were just immersion breaking. As for the plotholes, well, I'm just glad the show is over. Sunken cost fallacy truly is a thing plus the desire for answers, many of which remained unansweed is just annoying. Another show i'll never be revisiting

I suspect that those were things that "could have been" but had to be cut for time.
I think the problem is that they ran out of time. The show had to be ended. Hence so many of these unexplored plot lines.
I still think they could’ve made each episode longer to compensate for the lack of a Part 6 whilst giving them an opportunity to tie up loose ends

Yes, the 5th season was a bummer. It doesn’t hold up to the quality of the 1-4 seasons.
But my favourite without a doubt is the 1st. I liked the light vibe of a simplistic story about medieval adventures of the friends trio. What ruined it for me were Maru and Steamland. They were overpowered with magic and science, Steamland was also boring. Nuh, I just wanted a small local sitcom with constant jokes on how everything is retarded.

Yes! I couldn’t get an image but I mentioned that the house symbol we see everywhere isn’t actually the symbol, but the new symbol doesn’t really make sense either and it’s just messy! There was no reason to include that, and it almost looked like the rocket somehow burned the image into the ground (which makes even less sense).
I guess the idea was her being queen is destined 🤷♀️

The only thing that would make sense is if they owe to hell bc they needed hell’s power to take the castle from the elves but I don’t even know anymore
I had some gripes with the show, but I always gave it the benefit of the doubt, but as you blatantly laid out all of the plot holes I just became more bitter towards it. The writers just explained them by the "guy that gets killed with a flaming arrow" and it is so dissatisfying. But I still like the show, even though it's not perfect it's anothet western adult animated comedy series with a beautiful art style and I just wish writers and show runners'll choose animation to tell impactful stories.
In the end the biggest crime of Disenchantment is leaving you with wanting more.

The whole final season is like this rushed ending where everything needs to be resolved. Everything except actual questions that we might have that were setup during the show. It is always like that. What I didnt like is how the main story needed to be wrapped up when the heart of the show was always the wacky adventures of 3 friends. None of the plot made any sense, but it was okay as long as they were having fun. Making them actually go through the main plot to wrap it up was not fun. Plotholes everywhere. All the plotholes you mentioned. We get forced wrap ups when the real questions remain unsolved. The most jarring thing was when woke culture pronounce and anti patriarchy lines were just dropped out of nowhere and out of context in like 0.0001% of the entire content. Nothing in the rest of the show even hints of woke culture nonsense. Like I never questioned Been being in love in a mermaid. I didnt need this sudden awkward cringe dialogue between them about her being half woman half fish. Or the song against patriarchy. I didnt see anyone fighting patriarchy anywhere else in any kingdom. It was not in any plot. Been has always been fighting her father because he is ruling over her life. Nothing to do with him being a man and she being a woman. So why bring in a conflict that is nowhere to be found in the show. It feels like when you prepare a full meal course and someone else just swoops in and sprinkles some unknown spice over everything. The soup, the meat, the desert.. Why did you do that? Why did you think that your spice would just go with everything? And the way everything ended with everyone split up. That was just.. okay I guess. But is that really the only way they could be happy? I would definetely rate the show really high, but also very rushed at the end. It could have easily be going on for another 5 seasons if they didnt chase the main plot about the evil queen wanting some powerful magic. Didnt seem all that powerful to me.

Probably it was due to the cutting of 10 episodes worth of storytelling, but perhaps they just introduced too many plots that they couldn't handle eventually? Like "the very thing", trøgs, crones, secret society, øg curse, Satan's two forms, debt to hell, Alva, Freckles (that one hurt me the most I think), dopplegängers, Leavo, crown... the list goes on and on.
It was definitely messy as a finale season, but I'm not sure if an extra season could have saved it. It's certainly possible that things would have made a lot more sense, but, they went into this KNOWING that there were only going to be 6 Parts, and I think they spread the story out way too much over Parts 3 and 4 to ever get it all to line back up by Part 6. But, sort of like the second season of The Promised Neverland, I feel like a lot could have been sacrificed to tell a better one-season story overall.

I don't think it was the writer's fault but having to tie up 20 episodes worth of loose ends in 10. I think they did the best they could with that - and I hope they can find a way to fill in the plot holes for those of us that wanted more.
Thanks for this analysis. Really precise and deep. So disappointed with the last season, and you pointed out most of the things that I think they didn't manage to make it work. I feel like they needed that season six to tell the story they wanted to. Netflix kinda ruined the show. Hope to ear more from the creators in the future.
I really hope that the creatives who worked on this show are at a panel soon and answer some fan questions about how this last season fell apart. People were strongly against this show from the start, and I advocated so hard for people to give it a chance because it was hysterical with so many mysteries looming, and then I got a dozen or more texts and calls after Part 5 of people upset with me for getting them emotionally invested in this mess.

part 4 was already all over the place with terrible pacing and part 5 really just shit the bed.
i was skeptical of it being wrapped up well when i initially found out part 5 was the finale.
they built up all this lore and hinted and teased it all throughout the show only to throwaway 90% of it in the end with no explanation.
this was one of my favorite shows of all time and now it has left a sour taste in my mouth.
they assassinated beans character in part 5 by making her care about mora at the expense of her friends and family, which is nothing like her. she’s always cared so much for elfo and luci but barely blinked when she found out luci died for good and when elfo was presumably left dead in the collapsing cavern.
they wrote her into this heartless, selfish and immature terrible friend. all for who? mora? the most flat character out of them all. she’s incredibly boring and irrelevant.
when she died i didn’t even care because she’s such a shoe horned in character that never even made sense.
they also did a super half assed job of trying to explain what happened the first time her and bean went to mermaid island and bean woke up back by the crashed boat. “oh a mermaid must have brought me back there cuz they hate humans”.
that in and of itself is a plot hole because they were clearly gone for a full day, yet elfo comes back in what was clearly the same day saying “i asked but no one wanted to help”. it’s like the writers didn’t even watch their own show.
don’t even get me started on how dirty they did luci in the end. i would have been happier if bean had died for good instead of him. she could be in hell with mora. she deserved that by the way she had been so obsessively selfish because of her.
the lazy writing of including mora ruined bean’s whole character and the entire ending as a result. i would have settled with god’s wish after luci brought back mora to be sending luci back and giving him a new body. that would have been a much more proper and happy ending.
she also ran away from her own wedding? no, it was HER wedding this time, not one she’s forced into. she WANTED it this time. so why the hell did she run away? never mind that, the real issue is she couldn’t even say goodbye to elfo.
whether she can visit dreamland or not, it’s still a shitty friend thing to do. how hard is it to just say goodbye to their face? elfo wasn’t even upset that she left just that he didn’t get a proper goodbye. again, bean’s character assassination at the hands of boring ass mora turning her into this horrible, selfish friend. it’s nothing like her.
not to mention bean barely mourns luci even after everything is settled. it just feels like a slap in the face to luci and the viewers.
the whole show was always centered around bean, luci and elfo. it was the unlikely trio that went on adventures and tried to stop bad guys and protect each other. it would only be fitting for the show to wrap with the three of them together in the end.
it should have been them having a drink at luci’s tavern before bean and mora go off to mermaid island for their honeymoon and elfo returns to the castle to be in the throne with miri. luci has his tavern and shenanigans that he enjoys.
though, it really felt like they didn’t know what to do with luci. everyone else gets coupled up except luci, one of the main three characters. it isn’t like he’s never had romantic interest either. he liked kissy and was even hurt when she broke up with him.
they could have given him a proper love interest since they went with the “coupled up” ending. it makes me even more upset realizing how little thought they gave to his conclusion.
oh, and they just killed the jester for no reason in the end? are you kidding me?
such a fun show with great narrative and character development in the first 3 parts and then by the 5th one they shit all over it.

I am also disgusted by this season and the finale in general, and I am surprised by the positive feedback it gets.
It feels like the writers got high on weed and aired all the confused thoughts that seemed wildly funny to them. Like the Throgs removing their brains? Flights to the moon? Unexplained time travel? Clockwise swinging ducks? It was all so out of nowhere that it's unclear why it was added if the writers weren't under the influence of something. I was constantly face-palming.
And yes, I agree about the Junior. He was literally on the screen when the ogres was hypnotized, and I thought to myself, "oh, finally something interesting; now we'll see what Junior will come up with in this situation." But no! He just decided to play along!
And about Dagmar, you just pulled the words out of my mouth. How is hanging her in a cage above Dreamland a better deterrent than leaving her in a cave the castle? Although most likely she would have gotten out of there.But it would take time. And she will get out of this cage on the same day. She doesn't even need to come up with anything - just wait for someone (for example, one not very smart guard) to pass by, and use her manipulative abilities. I honestly thought that Satan would put her in solitary confinement on a lonely island in hell. There's plenty of room, why not do that?!
I honestly expected that everything would turn out to be a dream of Bian, who lies in an opium den, and in the end it turns out that the events of recent seasons were her hallucination, and Dagmar is still in stone, and Elfo never died, etc.
And I do not know what would be more disappointing: a cheap cliche about a dream that devalues all previous events; or the fact that this nonsense turned out to be a canon that was recorded with a serious face in the lore of this world

disenchantment was such a good series. the ending completely ruined it. i think they should’ve just brought back mora another way, keep luci, and then they all live together in dreamland. personally i think bean and moras relationship was a little out of no where because bean was kind of over having a love interest at that point, and before she had something going on with elfo, which literally went no where. i think they should’ve either given their relationship more time to develop or just scrap moras entire story because then they could’ve had more time to develop actual importance to the plot, like more with dagmar and zogs family history. at first i loved bean x mora but now, after that ending, it’s just not it. i feel extremely unsatisfied and disappointed with the amount of plot holes and just the bad ending in general. like why would bean abandon her best friend for someone who she spent a total of maybe a week with? that whole ending was just.. bad.

it was totally rushed yeah but like a lot of the story you know like the first season started out and it seemed very Slice of Life that there might be a sprinkling of plot here and there and then it just got more and more and more plot Centric and I don't know I mean it felt like the first season was a completely different show. and especially if they were only going to have six seasons if that was going to be the case all along why would they even do that why would they have the first season be so Slice of Life comedic?

amazing video. Honestly, I was already mad about the fact that Bean abandoned her friends just to be with Mone. After seeing your video im even more angry because of all these loose threads. BTW you didnt mention the ·"very thing" that the elves were looking for.
I finally watched it (after a long binge watch of the earlier seasons) and I loved every second of it! Yeah, I wish there was more Freckles and a bit more to the Trogg storyline (especially whatever the deal with the Sea Troggs is), but I don't mind that we are left with some mysteries in a show like this.
And apparently Netflix trimmed the episode or season counts down (which explains a lot about how rushed it was), but at least it wasn't outright canceled on a cliffhanger like half of Netflix' shows are (poor Dark Crystal: AoR).
The Bean vs Dagmar battles were amazing, especially the beautiful animation (and in general, the animation of the whole show is just eye candy). Having had to deal with my own narcissistic, controlling mother, the whole thing was very cathartic. And everyone really did get what they deserved in the end, except maybe the poor Jester. I actually got teary during the last 10 minutes, I really love these crazy characters.
As a sidenote, if feels like Matt liked Johnny 2CELLOS theories so much, he decided to force those plot points into the series right at the end, where they didn’t belong just to feed the theory community

Finally, an honest review that isn't just hyping this season for more clicks. Season 5 was so horrible, and so devoid of humor, it genuinely feels like Netflix tried seeing if they could get away with AI generated scripts.

Yes, this last part was very unsatisfying. I really felt that after part 4 we would be getting a few more seasons because the world seemed to be expanding and offering us new plot lines, I feel like this part should have dealt with Bean and her mother and then after she was dead (or perhaps trapped in hell) we could have other things explored like the elves and trogs and sea trogs (I thought for sure the trogs were going to turn back into elves) I would have liked to also see more of the mermaids and all the other things but sadly I don't think we will get it. would love to see you make more videos about this show, i really loved it until the last part :(
I wasn't watching the series too closely, but a lot of things felt 'off' when it wrapped. I theorize that there was a rush to finish. Sometimes, show runners create a plethora of 'set-ups' that they can't comfortably resolve because the series bible didn't specify all the specific beats and developments for characters and plots. By the way, this should be called 'planning.' (There was obviously a lack in this series.) This is made all the more difficult if a show is cancelled prematurely and the writers must resolve things faster than the available screen time allows. It can happen with things such as "The X-Files" kind of 'lucking' into a mythology, which became more convoluted over time since they didn't map out a clear resolution with a distinct end point. It became too complicated to resolve. However, with Disenchanted, there does feel like a rush to a resolution which created so many plot holes and fallacies, that it spoiled my ability to return to that universe. I think the writers even understood their errors when the series heckler, always killed with a flaming arrow, acknowledges this before being killed again with a brick. It seems the writers genuinely dropped the brick in more than one way.
