-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Krátké a kreslené filmy
FINALLY circling back to some Tower! You all said we had to check out this track so here we are! Also get HYPED for the 100k special going up this Sunday @ 12pm EST...! We had a blast filming it and we think you’ll love it, cheers!! 🙌🏻🔥
Time for Jeff Healey
I nominate this one for an album reaction on Patreon guys! It’s a great listen 🔥🔥
Alex....are you wearing a two sided onesie? 😆
Robin Trower ... meh, he's ok I guess. You wanna hear some REAL blues guitar, try Roy Buchanan. His song Pete's Blue should set your hair on fire. By the way, why is Alex wearing two curtains? One curtain isn't good enough for him all of a sudden?
Can't wait for the 100K special!
James Dewar on bass and vocals. He was a beast!
im, 67 there are only a handful of albums you dont want to miss a second of....bridge of sighs.....is definately one of them!!!!
Absolute truth!
At 71, I concur. If I remember correctly 😁
@@deantait8326 sure you do, guys like hendrix and trower you never forget......also alvin lee!!!!
I'm 70 and I do agree with you on this album.
62 here, Trower was always overlooked because of the Hendrix comparison. His tone is how a Stratocaster is suppose to sound. 👍👍👍
70 yo here. When this album dropped in '74 it blasted from every dorm room all day. Those were good times.
The title track Bridge of Sighs is a MUST next.
but only after they react to South Side of the Sky 😀
@@Lightmane Lol. Still waiting for Suite Madame Blue and Sounds of Silence. But of course any YES comes first!😎
I was going to suggest Bridge, but I was thinking they had already done it 🤷🏻♀️
@@Mona.555 Don't think they did it yet.
ANYTHING for Bridge of Sighs! You cannot go wrong.
"Bridge of Sighs" is one of the few LP's I can listen to start to finish since I was 17 (when it came out). 65 now, still holds up. Saw Trower in concert at a small venue in 2010, James Dewar (RIP) (Scotland Forever!) did the vocals. Unforgettable.
Keep up the Good Work Gentlemen.
I first saw Robin in 1974 in Milwaukee Wi when I was 17 yrs old.Have seen him 5 times since. There seems to be a bit of resurgence in him among a younger crowd and among young African Americans as I have seen on CZcams This heavy blues guitar goes right to your heart and grabs your soul and add James Dewars amazing vocals and bass and one of the first great and unknown black drummers Reggie Isadore.
czcams.com/video/0wkkscG08So/video.html Here's a good live concert.
I bought Bridge of Sighs for my when he left home. No one should be without this I said. He loved it and still does.
I can't hear the song over Alex's shirt.
Worse, I think it's a onesie!
Onesie's have feet. That's a romper.
Hoping his entire outfit ends up as merch!
@@hollishamilton3943 you're right, my bad! (romper might actually be worse)
Wanna know a secret... 👀It’s actually a shirt and bathing suit combo
The whole album, Bridge of Sighs, is probably the greatest album nobody has heard. From beginning to end it is pure perfection. For Earth Below, the follow up album to Bridge of Sighs, is also killer.
Glad you are doing Robin Trower, but you really need to rate the title song “BRIDGE OF SIGHS”!
I love that song. My favorite Trower song.
@@thancrow There isn't a bad song on the album. Still, I absolutely agree the title track should be next, since I think it sets the tone for all the songs that follow.
Yes! Most definitely!
@@rorycallaghan5719 I agree. I owned the LP when it came out.
Absolutely. Kick back, pour yourself a double, and let yourself melt into it
Bridge of Sighs is a timeless album. Had a copy since 1973. Never tire of it.
Nailed it, James Dewar was working at the Jiffy Lube in Glasgow, Scotland when he decided to just start singing.
Robin Trower is still very active. Puts out an album every few years.
he was touring until the lockdown
Imagine growing up listening and seeing Robin Trower, Queen, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Uriah Heep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, The Stones, ZZ Top and so on like us old guys did. Was the greatest music ever. No effect just plain rock. This album opened up the blues and that's a whole other story... The best time for music ever!!!!
James Dewar is a Scottish singer and bass player that killed it with Robin Trower during his heyday.
His voice was a perfect fit for what Trower was trying to present.
See... it’s the Scots leading the way again. You’re welcome world.
@@mikeymckinnon5778 aye laddie!
@@mikeymckinnon5778 spot on me son
Them scots can sing and play (write, act, et al). 😎 James Dewar just brings it perfectly with Robin Trower, they both are a tower of power (subdued as it is). Trower Power! ❤
James Dewar is one of the most underrated and unknown vocalist ever. I saw them live in 1976. great concert! Thought you might give it a little bit higher rating but fair enough. Lot's more to listen to from Robin! Enjoy the ride!
Me too Boston opened for them!
Don't ever expect a higher ranking, they really don't like blues/rock and always, ALWAYS give it a piss poor rating. I don't know why they bother to cover any of it.
He sounds sooooo soulfully black but from Frigging Scotland!
I emulate his voice bring Scottish.
And i drink Scotch.
Loved his music back then and still love it now.
Alex's outfit for this video: When you have to jam out to blues rock at 12:00PM, but flip a coin on whether to kill the Batman at 1:00PM
That was SAVAGE!!
Not just mildly distracting. New rule: No half and half onezies.
I can't believe his mom let him out in public dressed like that. LOL
Yeah but if you extend the outfit down to be long bell bottom pants, he'd be dressed perfectly for the 70s.
And... you win the internet this day. *tips cap*
James Dewar one of the great singers in rock
YES!!! My constant hectoring paid off! Lol. Next from him I recommend Little Bit of Sympathy. Thanks, guys! ❤
I have been asking for that one too. Trower Power!
Yes! Keep at it! Caught their show in 1975 in Detroit....wow. My brother smuggled in a telephoto and has some great pics of that night.
I saw Robin Trower at "The Warehouse" in New Orleans for this tour in 1975. Golden Earing opened. This whole album is amazing ! I met him one time back stage at House Of Blues in N.O..
Trower and Golden Earring would have been a killer pairing. Too bad I was 1 year old.
Alex is too rolling stoned with that dope outfit.
If everyone chips in a few dollars each, we can help Alex buy a full set of matching clothes.
Fuck "matching!"
😡😡😡😡👊
🤘🤘
🤣🤣🤣
I wish he had gone full on and shaved half his face to match....
Now that’s how you start the week!!! Sensational!! 🔥🔥🔥
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Another "pl" rating from Andy
Alex: How to say you’re from Florida without saying you’re from Florida.
You live on land stolen from the Seminole tribes 🤷♀️
Exactly. I'm like bra, the fit tho....It’s like some shit Twoface would wear. 🤣
it’s all good, you do you.
When Alex wears the clothes he’s wearing. Ha😎
Hahahahahahaha!
@@Whiskey61 your understanding of the history is incomplete. they were dispossessed in contravention of treaties and American law. in other words, they were robbed, and their land was stolen.
Hell yes! Thank you guys!
Omg...Made my day! Been waiting for such a loooong time for you two to experience this song. It is perfection... Down and dirty blues guitar (Trower) and vocals/bass (Dewar). So happy it melted your brains a bit. lol. The entire album is worthy of a listen, but would suggest "Bridge of Sighs" (recorded version - for full effect). Loved this! Have a great one you two. Later! ☺🙌👋
They're getting there Lisa. I won't be surprised if the rating changes to "S "one day :)
@@susanklasinski1805 Yes. S. Induplicatively.
@@susanklasinski1805 Yes they are Susan! I do think think your prediction of "S" will likely come true! lol. Have a great day friend! :)
@@lisaw5604 It's a grower for sure, as the rest of the album is
Missed you...been gone for awhile?
It's been said that Robin Trower can bend a note around a fencepost, and bring it back again.
...and this is why we play guitar... Robin Trower music evokes so much emotion. His tone and phrasing is top shelf and keeps getting better even into his 70’s. Grateful to see him perform the past 5 decades.
Jim Dewar, bass and vocals. One of my favorite vocalists and criminally underrated. 👍🏻
Agree. Criminally.
GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING A&A FAMILY
☮️❤️♾️
Love, Love, Love ♥️🎸♥️ Suggest you do this entire album on Patreon!
This is really good. I had forgotten, it had been decades since I heard this
I just saw Trower at Wiltern in LA last year. It was the 2nd time with a 40 year gap in between. He still plays like a master, and yes, his live sets really go off into another place!!
czcams.com/video/0wkkscG08So/video.html
James Dewar on vocals. He was the perfect voice complement to Robin's guitar prowess. We sure do miss him. And congrats on the 100k!
YES! Entire album is fab. Alex should shave off half of his stache when wearing that outfit.
Yep... the striped shirt should be the side to get shaved.
Yes!!! About time guys!!! Way to start the week, HAPPY MONDAY!!!🤘
Alex: Dude, that outfit is wearing YOU !!! LMAO !!!
Victims of the Fury, Only Time, Roads to Freedom.....and as everyone else has said, Bridge of Sighs.
Woo wee that was SO good. 😃 And I read in the comments wondering if Alex lost a bet. LOL
The singer was also the bass player in the band. James Dewar, that sadly to say passed at an early age from natural causes. Seems sort of unusual to have the bass as the singer too. But he was in good company; Geddy Lee, Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy and so forth. Another slower syrupy one off of “Twice removed from Yesterday” is called “Daydream”. Good stuff. Thanks for hitting this one guys, knew you’d love it! 🎸
"Bridge of Sighs" fellas by this man if you haven't already. Cheers
👏👏👏Finally!
Alex! Diggin the outfit! And I wish I could remember just how many times I bought this album after wearing them out on the turntable from listening to it so often!
“Lady Love” right into “Little Bit Of Sympathy.” Never gets old!!!!!
TROWER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first concert was Robin Trower. HolymotherofgodwasitGREAT! Dave Mason opened. Also great! Love Trower's vocalist and bass player, Scotsman James Dewar...whoa. And when Trower tunes change tempo...OH YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oy, what's not to love!
Next should be The Fool and Me, Day of the Eagle, Bridge of Sighs.
Now CheryL, I'd like to respectfully encourage you to get with the spirit of the Proceedings -
see previous songs by A & A (just because you're beautifuL doesn't mean you can slide on this :-)haha)
@@vfxtreme2023 I did jump too quickly to suggest Day of The Eagle, before the video was even over. I completely forgot they already did it. 🤦♀️
Do this entire album. You WILL NOT be disappointed. I promise!
The whole album is worth a listen. Somewhere a Mom is missing her curtains 😳
nailed it
Now that’s a banger!
Bridge of Sighs, watch it already. That is THE track to react to.
Bridge of Sighs !...Super heavy tune !
React tp "Bridge of Sighs" and "In This Place" back-to-back. They flow together so well and belong together in my opinion. The wind will carry you through to the other side.
There are several videos of him playing this live. It’s fun watching him play - you’ll love his “wah” face and how he feels every note he plays. He also plays this song somewhat differently n each one.
Love your channel, and I’m glad you got around to this killer song.
Another great live one to check out is the live version of Bridge of Sighs (the title track of this album) from a 1975 British TV show.
I love his shows. Seen Trower in concert 10+ times and never miss a show when in town. I believe he has an amp jack in his hip bone and some of the incredible sounds he makes are screams of pain when in a blues riff. One of the incredibles!
now we're talkin fellas. trower is badass ! still out there waiting to tour. Bridge of Sighs, Day of the Eagle, daydream...
When Alex said „really cool!“ at the slowdown, i went like „wait for it - the sauce is yet to come“ 😁
I covered this song with my band and i can confirm: yes, its a lot of fun to play it live.
I'm in my mid 40s. Never heard of this band or song. Wow. This was some great music! Psyched to find something new. Thanks for reviewing this tune A&A !
Wait till you hear Bridge of Sighs title track.
czcams.com/video/0wkkscG08So/video.html Live
An "A"? Really?!?. Talk about "lost in the sauce"! IMO, blues genre or any genre, this is S-Tier! It amazes me about some of the grade C stuff you drool over and just rate something like this as "very good, but not enough ". I guess it's all about taste.
Fame is sometimes a relative term. In the 1970s Robin Trower was huge. Bridge of Sighs sold a gazillion copies. Tons of guitar-god fanboys (and girls) worshiped Trower. Also had a small core of prog rock fans leftover from his days as lead guitarist for Procol Harum.
Thanks guys, I knew you would love TRS. If you are wanting a live number of his, I highly suggest " Daydream " from his RT Live album. It is my favorite guitar work of his. Be warned, " Daydream " is not a banger, but rather a masterful tasteful guitar blues piece.
Its BEAUTIFUL
That's the live track I'd suggest too.
@@taradevine6026 Exactly what I was going to say until I read your reply! Cheers!
Daydream is what you listen to when you are cooling off by the river in the middle of summer. And you hit repeat.
Long Misty Days, Daydream , Victim of the Fury, Only Time.....
Robin Tower is rock GOD!
This is one of those tracks I looked forward to hearing when listening to late night FM radio while in college in the 70's. It was like a reward after a long day of classes.
So great to see a couple of young guys getting into Trower Power…he is a legend! Musicianship, songwriting and the singers! Too good!
Good boys! Finially...A great song from Robin and his crew!
This was the loudest show I ever saw, front row in a small club in Lancaster PA
Daydream from Live. A masterclass in slow tasteful blues. And it's live and improvised! Just beautiful
Why so unforgiving and why so cold?
Been a long time crossing bridge of sighs.
BTW, the "Twice Removed from Yesterday" album is also outstanding.
Alex looks like Ralphie from a Christmas story wearing the bunny suit, I bet his memaw made it for him..I think I would need more than one Whisky for that jumpsuit....Alex you're a brave dude ❤🙂🙃
It's a shame she can't see too well anymore -- grabbed the wrong bolt in the middle of her work..... ;-)
Well said
This whole album is amazing.
I can remember cruising around in a chevy conversion van that had headphones at every seat . Would drive around all night long stoned out our minds listening to this 8 track tape or on the radio Robin Trower was the king back then back in the late 70s I'll be 67 this year and man I wish I could go back there again. Great times great bands and the best years of our life's. To the many friends I've lost throughout the years I sure do miss you guys till we meet again 💔
I saw Robin Trower at the House of Blues in Chicago. He was outstanding.
Did Alex lose a bet?
@TM Songvids Hahahaha! 😆
I think the Ringling Bros clown college is in Florida... maybe he got a scholarship! ;)
If not, he should lie and say he did lol
Maybe his girlfriend is dressing him!
Half his mom's pj's, half his dad's? I'm just glad he has enough balls to wear it, and not even address it! 👍😁
My recollection about James Dewar is that he was SUCH a good vocalist that they pulled in another bass player at some point and let James focus on his awesome singing. RIP!
Aye
Rusty Allen from Sly and the Family Stone was the bassist on the In City Dreams album.
I've seen Trower 9 times live in concert. He used to play every year in Seattle at the Ballard Firehouse, where I saw him 4 times and Portland Oregon too. He used to play at the Roseland Theater on Burnside Avenue, downtown Portland every year too, I saw him there 3 times. This song totally rocks and he used to open up his shows with this one! TROWER FOREVER!!!!!!
That Guitar Solo is one of the best if not The Best "Take you on a Journey" Guitar Solo...and keeps you engaged throughout it's entirety...
Little Bit Of Sympathy, Caledonia, The Fool And Me, Lady Love, Alethea, Daydream, Twice Removed From Yesterday, Bridge Of Sighs.
A lot of Robin Trower to dig in to and most deep cuts. You've got his biggest two out of the way.
Caledonia Ohhh Caledonia…
Procol Harum alum
How about ""About to Begin'' which I used as the opening to a screenplay I wrote...Also ""I Can't Wait Much Longer""
I've seen Robin in concert less than 10 feet away from me about eight times. And the funny thing is, he always plays his songs exactly like he plays them on the album! I've heard very little deviation over the years.
A bit sad really. I certainly prefer this done live though. Apparently Duane allman is another person who actually worked out exactly what he would play although it would seem like improv (according to Derek and dominoes stuff I read recently where Eric explains this)
I have to respectfully disagree. I've seen him a dozen times, also up close, and his solos are NEVER the same!
@@greggw.brevoort pleased to hear that. Imagine playing a song the same for 40 years. It would be awful. I like people who reinvent stuff as time goes on.
If you're near Long Island NY, you must have stood next to my brother a bunch of times...he never misses a show when Trower's in town..
@@karlsinclair9918 What Eric probably forgot to say was that he Duane and Radle and the others were strung out on heroin. I have loved Layla from the beginning, but if one listen's to end of title song, before the piano par, is not exactly a bastion of clean playing. They probably couldn't reproduce that sound if they tried it again. However, it is wild shit. Eric tends to put lipstick on a pig.
"the takers get the honey....givers sing the blues"....classic line....saw Robin Trower live early 80s in Ottawa at Barrymore's on Bank Street! Robin played with Procul Harum back in the 60s (Whiter Shade of Pale 1967), ,.....and I think he is still touring and turning 76 this year! Insane!
Oh yes! Been a long long time since I listened to this and it is so freakin awesome! Was one of my top played albums in my late teens. So great. Thanks for playing this
Alex....Dude! Your outfit is on a league of its own! Cheers to you!
Always drove me nuts when people compared him to Hendrix. A little similarity in the tone, but he has a completely unique guitar voice. It's instantly recognizable, which, in the huge universe of guitar players, is pretty hard to do. Check out his more recent live performances of Bridge of Sighs. He looks like the mummy of Tutankhamun with a Strat around his neck, and his guitar maturity and virtuosity has grown along with all those years. Best guitar face ever.
James Dewar was one of rock's great singers and hellova bass player. Doesn't get enough credit. I have seen Robin in concert many times and always a great show.
You gotta love all the spontaneous sub-verbals coming from the creatures who had somehow squeezed through the cracks in the floors and walls of the studio. The clapping also sounded unrehearsed and genuine. Refreshing!
Somebody shredding to that extent will attract souls like cheap metal to their magnet.
Bridge of Sighs should be the next one.
Bridge of Sighs!!!!
James Dewar is my favorite vocalist of all-time. Teenager in the early seventies so I've heard them all. James could sing anything with a voice so unique and a great bass player. RIP brother, so glad I was here to catch your greatness.
Even better is “Little Bit of Sympathy,” the closing track of the same album. For crazy pyrotechnics, “Shame the Devil,” from “For Earth Below.” It made my head explode, the first time I heard it.
PURE FILTH! Robin's still BADASS!
I mean....it really brings up the subject of super-star guitarists who may have never actually played with a superstar band - unlike Clapton, Hendrix, Stevie Ray, Jimmy Page, etc. - Robin Trower, Jeff Beck, etc. are heavy-weights with unassailably top-tier chops who must be considered among the greatest.
Not a criticism but Trower played in Procol Harum prior to this.
@@iancarr8682 Jeff Beck Played in the Yardbirds.
ooooh! Love your short-shorts, Alex...Love Robin Trower too!
Highly underrated!..He came at a time when the market was saturated with good guitar players and never got his praise!!
Live Trower suggestion - Robin Trower Live released in 1975 - Daydream: clocks in at over 7 minutes, but takes you to a great place.....
I thought this was going to be S-tier based on their initial comments. If this doesn't get it, I don't think anything in discography will. Maybe Bridge of Sighs, but this is the peak in terms of the all around singing and guitar imo.
Caledonia? The Fool and Me? lol
Cheers!
Awesome! Thanks Fellas! Sooo, looking forward to 100K special. Congrats again. Cheers!
It's always cool when you younguns hear a classic rock song before I do. What a banger! Never heard of this song, this group, anything.
Robin F’n Trower 🎸🤘
I think I’ll just sit this one out .....but I’m too rolling stoned 🤘✌️
51 laps around the sun completed and this is new to me. Bloody lovely! Ain't music great? Thanks A&A and whoever requested this dope song.
So glad y'all reacted to my favorite Trower. This CD was played non-stop on a trip all the way from Rochester NY to Danbury CT, cranked-up!!!
"A Tale Untold" or , of course their most popular song, "Bridge Of Sighs".
So Alex you couldn’t decide which outfit to wear so you took both and made one, problem solved ! brilliant!
I’d like to see Andy pull off that look!.....on second thought....😂
Andy needs the same outfit, but with the stripes on the right side.
I'm guessing he lost a bet.
The live version of Lil Bit of Sympathy off the '75 LIVE album is the concert track you guys seek. It was recorded before a maniacal European audience. Just friggin phenomenal. Play it please!
