And here we are years later getting them together at last, on TOP of wolverine wearing his actual outfit for the first time in 10 movies and 20 years. Lot of build up for this one, and actually looks like good writing which has been inconsistent for years
Its reverse of what MCU usually does. MCU presents serious stakes but cheapens moments with out of place jokes, Deadpool is a character all about comedy but faces the audience with earnesty when its time to be serious.
Laura being there is honestly no surprise to me. She pulled an Andrew Garfield with that one, talking about the movie like she wasn't in it but still ended up in it, Hella fire. Loved Laura's character, so glad she's back.

I always love that they never forget that Deadpool isn't just "haha meta joke" but is also a source of some of the most dramatic stories with a lot of heart in the MCU.
“You were always the wrong guy, until you weren’t.” This cuts so deep. Both from her character’s perspective and the meta of Hugh being too tall and “the wrong one” yet now he’s the quintessential Wolvie.
It would be totally different from the other Deadpool movies if that's the case. I would be staggered if this is not unrepresentative of the actual movie. Hugh is basically playing the same role in the narrative as Josh Brolin did in 2, that of a straight man to Deadpool's stand up comic persona. Since the entirety of the last two movies was to subvert the po-faced seriousness of the X-Men franchise, it wouldn't work if Reynolds just started playing it straight, or the other characters stopped being deadpan stereotypes.
From people that have watched it already they're saying this movie is the MCU saviour. It's one of the best superhero movies ever done. I'm watching it on Wednesday, so not my words there just to be clear.
"You were always the wrong guy" has even more meaning when you learn Hugh Jackman was the backup actor for Wolverine originally. So stoked that Dafne was able to reprise her role
Okay, I just LOST IT when I saw X23!!!!!!! I was disappointed that she didn't get her own spin-off movies after Logan, but hopefully this is the beginning of working her into the MCU because her character is AWSOME!!!!!!

Then, the studio wanted it to be Dougray Scott instead but because he had an injury, that they fully went with Hugh. And now, everyone don't want another Wolverine but Hugh. I love this line. EDIT: Dougray Scott couldn't do it because of Mission Impossible: II.
I grew up watching all the Fox and Sony Marvel movies. Right around the time the MCU began was when I started growing out of superhero movies. Even though the pre MCU Marvel movies are mostly considered a joke, I still have a very special place in my heart for them. So it was really nice to see those characters again and see them get a proper send-off! It was really special! I'm really grateful that for the first Disney Fox Marvel movie, they made more of an old-school Fox Marvel movie with MCU refrences rather than a straight up MCU movie with the Fox Marvel characters.

I lost my mind over seeing DAFNE KEEN in this trailer and her cameo was always the first speculation and prediction in a long list of them. I can't even fathom to what levels they're going to explode my brain with all the awesome things we don't know. But man does Dafne looks epic or what, she's grown into a brilliant young woman over these last 7-8 years. Melts my heart. Being a super hero really is a thankless job when you think about it. Like imagine saving a city from a cosmic threat, only to get shit on for not "minimizing collateral damage".
Going from how terribly Deadpool was handled in Origins: Wolverine to how great the first Deadpool movie was and how Ryan Reynolds acknowledged it and did right by the fans and has treated this character with so much passion is my favorite storyline of all.
if DP in Wolverine Origins was handled better or played by another actor, then I doubt we'd have gotten stand alone DP movies. so in that regard, Origins did well.

The way Hugh is portraying this version of Wolverine is amazing. He’s so haunted and guilt ridden you can see it in his eyes. I love how she points out “yeah you always were the wrong guy”. I got out of the cinema about an hour ago and i have one problem with this movie. That problem is that the second i walked out of the room I was 'Oh, I can't wait to watch it again!'. This movie is absolute history and absolute delight to Marvel, Deadpool and Wolverine fans. You guys are the absolute best! The jokes, the cameos, the interaction between you two was out of this world. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it happen and I can't wait to watch it again. I love that there weren’t many jokes. The serious tone makes me think this will go down as one of the best Marvel movies.
It would be totally different from the other Deadpool movies if that's the case. I would be staggered if this is not unrepresentative of the actual movie. Hugh is basically playing the same role in the narrative as Josh Brolin did in 2, that of a straight man to Deadpool's stand up comic persona. Since the entirety of the last two movies was to subvert the po-faced seriousness of the X-Men franchise, it wouldn't work if Reynolds just started playing it straight, or the other characters stopped being deadpan stereotypes.
Honestly it brought me back from my unease of the Sabertooth reveal, the hype is back along with my faith for the movie altogether.
From people that have watched it already they're saying this movie is the MCU saviour. It's one of the best superhero movies ever done.
I'm watching it on Wednesday, so not my words there just to be clear.

Because Hugh wasn't supposed to be casted as Logan. It was supposed to be Russell Crowe but he turned down the offer and recommended Hugh. Then, the studio wanted it to be Dougray Scott instead but because he had an injury, that they fully went with Hugh. And now, everyone don't want another Wolverine but Hugh. I love this line.

I grew up watching all the Fox and Sony Marvel movies. Right around the time the MCU began was when I started growing out of superhero movies. Even though the pre MCU Marvel movies are mostly considered a joke, I still have a very special place in my heart for them. So it was really nice to see those characters again and see them get a proper send-off! It was really special! I'm really grateful that for the first Disney Fox Marvel movie, they made more of an old-school Fox Marvel movie with MCU refrences rather than a straight up MCU movie with the Fox Marvel characters.

I lost my mind over seeing DAFNE KEEN in this trailer and her cameo was always the first speculation and prediction in a long list of them. I can't even fathom to what levels they're going to explode my brain with all the awesome things we don't know.
But man does Dafne looks epic or what, she's grown into a brilliant young woman over these last 7-8 years. Melts my heart. To be honest, for me this movie would have never ever felt complete or made sense if she wasn't in it in atleast some regard.

Being a super hero really is a thankless job when you think about it. Like imagine saving a city from a cosmic threat, only to get shit on for not "minimizing collateral damage".
Going from how terribly Deadpool was handled in Origins: Wolverine to how great the first Deadpool movie was and how Ryan Reynolds acknowledged it and did right by the fans and has treated this character with so much passion is my favorite storyline of all.
I’m just glad they showed origins in this trailer. I love that movie
if DP in Wolverine Origins was handled better or played by another actor, then I doubt we'd have gotten stand alone DP movies. so in that regard, Origins did well.
WHAT A RIDE from the self-made promotional film, to the Internet "leak," to the fam demand, to Ryan Reynolds' grit & determination to get this right, THAT is my favourite storyline. Deadpool is the greatest film ever made for a fan base because we asked for it!

The way Hugh is portraying this version of Wolverine is amazing. He’s so haunted and guilt ridden you can see it in his eyes. I love how she points out “yeah you always were the wrong guy”. He’s the last person you think would be a hero but he always gets up dusts himself off and throws himself into the good fight. Let’s fucking go.

I got out of the cinema about an hour ago and i have one problem with this movie. That problem is that the second i walked out of the room I was 'Oh, I can't wait to watch it again!'. This movie is absolute history and absolute delight to Marvel, Deadpool and Wolverine fans. You guys are the absolute best! The jokes, the cameos, the interaction between you two was out of this world. THANK YOU SO MUCH for making it happen and I can't wait to watch it again.
