I would say that a very big red flag is sellers posting stock photos from the manufacturer instead of photos of the actual product their are selling. I have fell for that before where the seller ends up selling a product that is too damaged.
The other red flag would be sellers announcing a price that is too small for the value of the product (like that $1 guy), then acting offended when someone offers them what they are asking and keep trying to up the price on you when you make an offer. I usually filter those low values because they are either faulty/damaged products, scams that target your wallet or your data, or delusional sellers.

If a person wants to sell something they should make it easy for ppl to make the decision wether they want it or not without any delayed back and forth making everything drawn out and more work than need be. No actual pics is a red flag too, and prices that are too good to be true are red flags too.

I got a PC for a friend on Facebook marketplace with a B550, Ryzen 5600, 3070, 256gb ssd, 750 watt psu, and 16gb of RAM for $640. It's not a crazy crazy deal, but I'm happy with the set up, and the case was actually clean. Optional stuff I picked up was an ethernet cable, GPU sag thingy, and I threw in an old 1tb SSD and a 1tb HDD I had laying around for extra storage. He's gaming on his old TV, so it's really only going to be pushing 60fps at 1080p. But he has so many avenues to upgrade, I'm pretty proud of the snag.

My current rig was a 4th gen intel with a gtx780 I got from a buddy in 2018. Since then I’ve slowly upgraded every part, mostly with used components. Now it has a 3600 and a 2080 super with 32 gigs of Ram. Only thing original is the case and the Blu-ray drive lol my next purchase will be a higher-end 5000 series for my b450 board, either a 5800x3D or a 5900x.

If you're shopping, please make sure to look at the laptop market. I have seen multiple great sales and open box deals on laptops with 4050s and 4060s, and those mobile GPUs will embarrass many desktop GPUs from the 10 and 20 series (and even some of the 30-series). The 4060 mobile is not significantly slower than a 3060 Ti desktop.

RTX 4070m is much slower than RTX 3070m, has same amount of VRAM (8GB) with only 50% memory bus (128bit vs 256bit). It's not always better just looking at the naming scheme. I had a laptop with 3070m and it was actually fast enough for PCVR with HP Reverb G2, one of the best resolution headsets. 4070m is about a 3060 desktop equivalent. 3070m is about a 3060Ti desktop equivalent.

Im lucky not to be so budget bound that I need to shop used. I prefer having the guarantee, but I have sold a few items. Latest my old 3060 to a Ukrainian refugee. Nice guy BTW.
I always only sell face to face as in wanna look the other in the eyes and hand over the item without the shipping hassle.
    Never have had issues.

Same. The problem is tech CZcamsrs like Jay lose touch with the common man because they work with high end enthusiast components all the time. The fact of the matter is that most computers since 2017 can run today's games at high speeds and high graphics. Upgrading is not worth it right now unless you want a few more fps or want to show off.

@@dane4890 There was a while the Corsair 750W shot up to $125. That was shooting yourself in the foot on a $500 or L500 build.

I really find it hard to ask the money I want to ask for the rig now.... So she still sits here. I made a bad choice in cases. The Corsair 4000D is useless for mounting a 360AIO in the front, absolutely no airflow, even double stacking the radiator fans.

Something to consider when getting Intel 12th, 13th or 14th Gen.. Jay goes into it often but if they have a high end motherboard, it is quite likely there is CPU degradation from high OCs from folks that know how to or worse high voltage from folks that don't do any optimizations.. just points to ponder. I read folks on the forums complaining about their CPUs degrading often.
