czcams.com/video/aAsUG-jbLlM/video.html
ChrisFix hey Chris, AMAZING channel you have put together! I have several scratches on the inside of my windshield from the previous owner. I am thinking it is from a dog. Is there any technique or trick to hide them so they are not so visible? Thanks
Hahah I guess we had the same story for the crack on the windshield
i had a rock hit my windshield but it didnt chip. It was really loud and i was surprised it didnt chip the windshield but there is a scratch on it now. Do i need to fix that or is that okay?

Good video!.... A couple of tips I can give yo.... I was an Auto Glass installer for 43 years before I retired. I did chip repairs for over 30 years..... When you are doing the chip repairs, make sure to wear Nitrile gloves all the time and never get the resin on you... A long the last, I developed an allergy to the resin and would break out in a rash. Bad stuff.......Also. Try using a single-edged, razor blade to scrape the dried resin from the glass.... Instead of using a "Slicing" motion (as shown in video) to remove resin, hold a single-edged razor blade at a 90% angle to the windshield and rub it back and forth, as if you were plaining down the excess resin....This will this process will make the repaired area even with the rest of the windshield... After you are done, use a little car wax to shine up the area..... There is also a product you can use called"PIt Glaze" but car wax will do just as well.... After the area is polish, you may not even see the damage............ Hope this helps............You did a fine job repairing the WS on this video..... and you offered no misleading info.......Thanks for posting!
Thanks a lot for the tips Jack and I appreciate the feedback from a 43yr pro! I used some of your tips in my new video: czcams.com/video/aAsUG-jbLlM/video.html
+ChrisFix hhhhhh hohohohohoho hihihihihi jajajajajaja
ye Man cool
What would cause the crack to get bigger when pulling the air out?
I would be a good idea when repairing a crack, not to have your car in direct sunlight... First, the polymor used to repair the chip is cured through ultra-violet rays of the sun... Second, The windshield should never be hot from the sun, during the process... A hot windshield is likely to crack much easier......Always do the repair in the shade and make sure the windshield is rather cool.... This may help.......... The best repair kit on the market is made by Aegis..... This is professional equipment and is expensive, but once mastered, it can pay for it's self.......
Best auto fix channel by far. No fluff, no filler, no long music intro, no stress, great advice 💙👍🏼
My thoughts exactly!! Teach me and move on...Ill watch more vids.
I just watched a crack in a windshield dissapear before my eyes. You inspire me, bro. You've shown me anything is possible if you put your mind to it
You just watched trickery. The cracks/chips don't magically disappear.
*Whoever invented this kit deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.*
I guess the name is Filipe!
You mean nobel peace of mind Prize
Better than Obama, for sure
Maybe Nobel Chemistry prize
👍
Can this fix my broken heart ?
I can do my best!
yes for sure ... just do not pour in too much resin
Let me know how that works for you, so a can fix my butt crack!
put resin on it, i did it on mine. seems to work.

Applied your knowledge and fixed a tiny chip like this on my windshield more than a year back. Since then, no further problem. You are really a great DIY teacher
As usual, Chris is the man!! It is really a wonderful thing when life just happens and then one has to deal with it. Thank God we have good people such as Chris here to Save the day! Keep Up the Great Work Sir! Thanks Again!!
Mechanically I'm sure this isn't a huge deal...but this still blows my mind how it just virtually disappears. 👍
ikr
i had a chip like this on my old car and never fixed it. 2 winters later it spread all the way across my windshield.
Because chipped glass is very easy to damage.
To cut piece of glass we need just to make a scratch and then bend it a little bit.
If water gets into it then it freezes you need another windshield.
It is neat how light refracts though glass and when you fill it, it is almost invisible!
So I was a little skeptical at first that these cheap window chip repair kits were worth it but when you pulled off the yellow square I was legitimately blown away. Great job!
Thanks Austin! Glad you liked the video!
The best CZcams video of 2021 for me. This shit saved me from a load of stress!
Now, if we can get those effing dump truck driver to properly cover their load and slow down. Why do they have to beat cars to the next traffic light?
Just called Safelite to fix a tiny crack, they want $188.00!! Think I’ll go buy the kit, thank you!
This is the most useful video for fixing chips on your windshield! Have had two in the past 3 months and watching this video and following the steps really helped me use the kit and it made the crack completely go away .
Every time I fix a crack on someone’s wind shield, I watch this video to keep track of the steps. Thank you so much, this video is super helpful.
Being a auto glass technician myself I say this is pritty cool and very interesting, good for people who don’t have $100 to get there chips fixed just have to make sure your very careful not to let it crack of in the process. One additional tip for this diy repair would be to lightly heat the inside of the screen with a lighter right where the chip is. This will help make that resn get thinner and will make it easy for it to get right out to the end of the legs of the chip and lightly tap around the chip with a small piece of steel :) cool stuff
Awesome info!
What the heat does is expand the area that's damaged while you are injecting resin into the area and let's that resin get into the voids while you have pressure on it.
You need to so this in direct sunlight. Glass get really hot believe it or not.
What the heat does when you hit the bullseye or starburst with a torch lighter is it expands to open the lines in the damage where the resin pushes further into the Crack. You just very quickly hit it with torch and then get off of it.
Same bro I still work at a Rios auto glass shop
Great explanation. Simple, clear, doable. Thanks, Chris!
Thank you so much for all your videos. I've learned a lot from watching you. You explain things clearly and simply and don't skip past any steps. Keep up the great work
I liked the view of the bubbles from inside the car! Great video and thank you.
Wow... Watching this, I can see how far your skills at making videos have progressed. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the info Chris
Didnt even knew this existed... thanks

Best kit there is. Use it on my dump truck. Saves me from new windows almost on monthly basis. Thanks
Chris, With you around on CZcams, No one will ever need a Mechanic, Wow! God Bless!
great video. My crack have been there for almost a year, and I just did it today and it worked perfectly fine. I'm glad the crack didn't get any bigger.
+Rumer1 great!
Your video on windshield chip repair was excellent! I work at a car dealership where we see this problem all too often. Your repair looked better than repairs we pay for. I am going to try doing this myself on our next stone chipped windshield. Thanks to your video I know to expect better repairs in the future. Thanks Chris.
Thanks! Some chips come out great and others, well, at least they are fixed haha. Glad the video was helpful! Here is another with some more info: czcams.com/video/aAsUG-jbLlM/video.html
I’ve watched your video several times over the years, fixing my windshield, good info and straight to the point
That was quite a time consuming process but the end result is well worth it! I had a mobile glass company do a similar repair on my recently pre-owned vehicle, although the chip didn't spread it is still visible. I wish I could have seen this video 7 years ago lol. Next time I'll give this method a try. Thank you ChrisFix for sharing your knowledge. I greatly appreciate all of your video content.
I had safe lite do mine and the crak look like it wasn't really fixed. I mean I can see they did something but not really.
I wish I would have done this instead!
Me, too. I had mine done at Honda in Selma. NOT a good job at all. It looks slightly better. Still there.
I just fixed my windshield following your directions and I had good results, thanks Chris
Holy crap. There was like a least 4-5 times where I was certain this was going to be a disaster. Lol. You’ve certainly impressed me. Great job!!
Probably the best fix I've seen with this kind of kit
I saw this video a couple of years back and now it’s finally being put to use. Thanks so much!
Thank you for this video. I was able to repair the chip in my windscreen instead of getting a new windscreen. As a solo traveller, it's important to know how to do these repairs.
Thanks chris. This was so helpful
You have just saved me £50, Amazon UK sell these kits for £10, instructions were great but your tips really helped.
Thanks, nice vid easy to follow. 👍🏼
Why would anyone give it a thumbs down? He is showing people how to repair a windshield so people can save money. If you don’t like the video don’t watch it.
Great Results! Those kits have been around for years.
Thanks!
Wish I'd seen this two years ago. Got a big star chip in my Acura Legend windshield, and in three weeks it grew into a crack 18" long.
Best video explanation. Thank you 😊
Hey, found this video by chance and must say, it's well explained, easy to redo for yourself. Well done and thanks!
bro your videos are so helpful!
Glad the videos are helpful!
ChrisFix why do you have cheap wipers
Sean Carter hi, my mercedez 2001 slk320 has a leaking coolant i need to known the position is hiden.
bryan camilo yolo its the stock wiper you idiot
Chris I like your videos and how explain things. You make it simple and offer multiple ways of handling things. Yesterday I did a few things to my car (I'm not mechanically savvy) with your videos and I finished real quick. Thanks bro
Awesome man! That is what I like to hear!
Arturo Ortiz Jr hi oh gou Urdu hi there
Maryinjh hTaylor hello there

I wish I had known about this a month when I got a chip. I guess its too late bc now I have a long crack. I went to several repair shops. They all said it had to be replaced. They knew. I love Chris' honesty.
Got a rock to the windshield when we got hit with that tornado here in vt and I followed your steps and let’s just say it seems like nothing happened now! Thank you dude for always being so helpful and also being so easy to follow. You rock man
- from a dude that always goes to your videos first.
I just moved to NH, we get tornados up here? Damn you just can’t escape them lmao I drove to Vermont last week it’s so beautiful
Great job mate, I have been in glass industry for 18 years. Good on you son. 👌👍
It looks damn near perfect
3232myke Yea, it really came out great!
this is incredible!! i'm getting this kit for sure.
I just did this today. Thank you so much for this video. This is so much better than those paper instructions that no one can understand
Thanks man. Got a fresh chip on some glass that I just had tinted!
Espectacular! Este producto es mágico..!! Increíble!!! Te ganaste un LIKE amigo!!😄🙋Slds.
Cought a rock on the freeway and this Answered all my questions.
Thank you
Great job. Thank you for that vote of confidence to all of us to try and get this done.
Chris, seriously man you're the king!
Its always nice to watch someone else try a product out before you muck it up yourself. Thanks for the video, you convinced me this works and works well. I don't know how old you are Chris but you'd make a heck of a salesman, you speak well and include every important detail. You're rather quite brilliant!
Indeed he speakes very well ...and also always with the right info that u need ... Great guy and great channel !
Thanks :)
Your video is really great and easy to follow. I had a similar sized crack and don't know what I did wrong maybe cleaning the crater with a pin? Or removing the syringe too early during the sucking out the air portion, but the crack is gone, but now I see a black line of the crack where it used to be.
I completely eliminated the small hole today by following your method. When I pressed down on the syringe, the resin spilled out and I thought I messed up, but after I removed the plastic piece I realized that it was actually completely invisible. Thank you very much.
Glad it worked out!
I also got a rock flung at me from being behind a dump-truck. Some guy wanted to charge me 75$ to fix it, same size as the one you got. Thank you Chris! Always very helpful and informative, definitely going to try this out and save a couple bucks! Thanks again.
I never knew it was possible to do this yourself, I will keep this in mind for sure!!! Thanks Chris
Don't do this yourself. Your insurance company WILL pay a professional to do it, with PROFESSIONAL equipment and warranty the work. I do this professionally, and this was not how to 100% fix a rockchip. No one knocks on the glass either. This dude has zero knowledge of this
@@mikebrinjac4297 Ok Mike
@@mikebrinjac4297 1. Putting a small chip like that on your insurance is just begging them to increase your rate. 2. Sounds like you're just upset that this could put you out of business because it clearly worked.
INCREDIBLE. I am most impressed. This product saves the environment big time. This puts a dagger straight in to the throwaway culture. The other beauty of this most marvelous product is that it is end-user installable.
ChrisFix pre-blue nitrile gloves and bike helmet! Love it! Thanks for your dedication and hard work Chris! Have to fix a chip in my windshield, so came back to this video for a refresher😎
Thank you for this! I've had my car for just over a year. The previous owner had it for only a year too and it was in perfect condition so I feel bad every time it gets a minor ding/scrape/etc since I want to be like them hahaha. I got a crack yesterday and was so upset! but now with this, I can fix it and it'll be good as new. Thanks!!!!!!!
Me too
I chipped my windshield yesterday, saw this video and knocked it out on my lunch break! Looks brand new! Thank you for the video!!
AWESOME Katherine! Nice work!
Katherine Decarlo you must have a really long lunch break
Thanks chris, I just got a car, so I'm binging your videos so I know how to take care and maintain my car. Thanks again!
What a great video, great explanation!
Awesome video Chris, I just recently stumbled across your channel and I must say, the quality of your videos are top notch, very easy to follow and helpful. Keep it up!
+Oliver Jensen Thanks a lot Oliver! I am glad the videos are helpful!

Awesome video as usual thank you. Can tell this is one of the older videos because it wasn’t as energetic of a “HEY GUYS” as usual lol. Keep them coming.
This just happened to me yesterday and so happy I found this excellent tutorial!! Thank you for all the tips, such a great video
Very helpful scared to do it but I am going to try.
Thank very much!
I’ll have to give this a try ,
Had a crack or chip in my trucks windshield for about a year now, not getting bigger or growing but it’s on drivers side & in your sight line, so it’s annoying.
did it work after a year?
Did it work bro
That was a great video, very nice job for a home diy repair. Now to take your advice and repair the chip on my own windshield I've been wondering how well these windshield repair kits work and now after seeing how yours looked after fixing it I can't resist I have to try it myself.
Thank you bro!! I'm going to order the kit today and can't wait to fix it. This is the number one go to channel for fixing your car and truck
Glad to help! Lmk how it goes
Dude!!! I was so worried about my windshield chip. I really can't say how it got chipped, will try this!!! You deserve unlimited subscribe!!
I just want to let you know this video really helped me alot. Thanks for taking the time to do it!
I'm glad the video was helpful!

Thank you very much Chris it worked beautifully
This is amazing😃 thank you very much!!
Nice video CrisFix!!! Keep up the good work!!! I love your videos!!!!!! This video was really helpful. My grandma had a crack in her windshield and I told her I could fix it for her and I did!!
Absolutely love your videos, I’ve learned so much. Thanks for all your great advice
Just bought the kit, glad you had a video on this. Been watching your page for a while, love when I search youtube and you pop up in the suggestions
This was the first video where you didn't sound super excited...lol. You sounded like a calm version of me a few hours ago when a stone flew from a dump trunk and chipped my Jeep windshield...worst part is I had just recently replaced the windshield.Thank you man. Looks like this will work and help my ocd
Dang that’s a bummer. Yea I wasn’t as enthusiastic when filming years ago. My newest windshield chip repair video is a good one. Be sure to watch that.
ChrisFix Ya, I watched all your videos on the subject, and paused and followed you step by step. The chip is now next to invisible, so for someone with OCD over their car, it’s huge that I can now drive without being distracted by it or having to drop another $300 on a second new one in less than a year. I really appreciate your channel, man. Such precise and thorough videos - every time! I just discovered you a couple months ago, and already you’ve gotten me out of my comfort zone and walked me through installing my own brakes, wiring my own interior lights with switch, upgrading my stereo system, (including how to properly solder), thoroughly cleaning and detailing my engine bay, and doing my own small rust/body repairs and trim paint. That’s thousands of dollars you’ve saved me, and invaluable knowledge you’ve shared. What I’ve learned is priceless. And there is a whole catalogue of material here for me to go to anytime the Jeep requires my attention. You’ve earned my sub, and my respect. Thank you, Chris! My baby Liberty looks and runs AMAZING now - thanks to you!
I enjoyed your video. It was very helpful. Thank you!
You are seriously my most valuable asset out of all my subscriptions
Thank you for sharing. Just ordered the kit you used. Will return for a report after we fix the windshield.
I just noticed I have 2 small chips in my windshield, and I will love to see those gone. Thank you !

Great instructions and a nice clean work. Good job and thanks for sharing.
I already started worrying on a chip , which I noticed today. I don’t know how it came. But now I know how to make it disappear. Thank you so much Chris.

Chris: CONTENT!!
really love ur vids man. Lots of help thanks!!
Thanks!
Looks great 👍 I work in the auto glass industry
Chris just got the Same kit on Amazon. Did it today while watching your video. Thanks for your help.
Can't wait to try this. Put a new windshield on my CR-V, after a chip like this turned into a big crack. Less than 4 months later, I'm passing a large truck and a rock hits my new windshield, small but annoying chip right in the driver's line of sight! I'm going to give this kit a whirl and hopefully it does the trick!
