A crazy FYI. 5x this past 12-14 months I’ve had cars roll in for bad door lock(s) actuator(s). Turned out each of them had a low battery. It can be any one of the doors or all of them. Apparently if newer cars have a voltage drop it will play havoc with the locks on many models. The fist one I chalked up to just a weird fluke but 2,3,4 and 5… not a fluke. Do a voltage drop test first!

Chris. Get an oil pressure gauge on the lemons bmw. Also, try to make the radio button wireless somehow. Also the radio button is way too far into the center, make it within thumb wiggle range.
Chris, just wanted to let you know I had gotten into a really bad spot last year and ended up having to get a 1900$ 2002 Acura TL. I was really worried about buying this car but you had given me the knowledge to get it functional and 100% safe. She was running terribly and these last few months I’ve replaced spark plugs and ignition coils, O2 Sensors, radiator, fans, the thermostat, replaced my master cylinder, rotors, brake pads and my entire ABS system. I do have a few things on my list left like the SRS system, wiper motor and fixing the wiring to my headlights. This mistake of a car I bought turned into a project car for me and I’ve been loving it. I’ve been learning everything about that car inside and out. She’s not the prettiest but that’s besides the point.
Dude this is crazy my pontiacs rear drivers side door lock just quit working properly and bam few days later this is in my recommendations, thanks Chris 👍🏻
Mine keeps Malfunctioning for over 7 years now. Every time I tell the mechanic he says its normal and it will get back into it. Now I finally found a video how to fix it and imma fix it myself. And I only bring my car to my mechanic when it has serious problems. Simple problems I can do it myself including changing my engine oil. Thanks Chris.

hey Chris I just want you to know you are very underrated and you are a amazing youtuber one of my favs I miss ur driftstang lemons bmw and loved project police inceptor your so fun to watch even when I don't a thing about cars don't give up man you are awesome
Could be a broken rod, or a bad master switch, or common in GMs it gets stuck, or could be a low battery, or I’ve literally seen a rod cap get scratched and stop it from going down and locking
I had this happen on my truck but it was with the handle. It had an actuator rod on it that connected to the door handle but it didn't use screws it used pop rivets. In order to replace the handle you had to drill out the pop rivets and then, well I put a bolt and nut on it. FYI. 😁
One thing to note here is that you should only replace the actuator if you're sure it's the actuator itself that's the problem. If it's a wiring issue or the mechanical linkage is disconnected/broken, you'd be wasting money replacing a component that wasn't broken
Hey Chris do you think you could do a full video about your history with cars? How you got into them how you learned to repair them and how anybody interested in becoming a mechanic can do it? I dream of becoming a mechanic one day and don’t know how to get a start and I would love to see a video of you sharing your knowledge about how are you got into cars and how beginners like me can make a career out of it. I have done many repairs on my car and I want to learn how to do it professionally and would love to hear your insight about how you got to where you are. You’re the best
This helped me finally figure out why my Lamborghini Aventador won't unlock. Turns out it won't unlock because I don't have the keys because it's not mine. Thanks so much! so helpful
In the case of my car, a Grand Marquis, the driver side door lock actuator was mounted into place with a metal bracket that's riveted to the door. The rivet broke, releasing the bracket holding the lock actuator in place, so the actuator works but just flops around and can't perform its function. Easy fix, of course: remount the actuator bracket with a bolt having a head flat enough for clearance and a nut. Of course, the inner door panel and associated parts had to be taken out of the way to do the job.
Now that's a vehicle I really want. Actually a 95 I'm not sure what year that one is but a 95 is one of my dream vehicles and the only one built after 1990.
Another problem could be broken wire in the door grommet sleeve. After 10+ years the cable insulation can stiffen up and broke, leaving the naked wiring exposed, they can short to each other or just be broken after a while.
Which car? Depending on the car it's usually not too bad. Sometimes they put the actuator in hard to get to spots but otherwise it's usually pretty simple.
Very good video keep it up!! Could you please do a video on how to find and fix an evap leak ? I have an evap code on my vehicle and I can't find where the leak comes from and I've already replaced the gas cap...

Also check the connection with a multimeter first 😁 then you’ll know it’s not a wiring issue

Also... Disclaimer: it's way harder than this on a land rover.
I suggest you test the actuator after you plug the wiring harness to make sure that you fix the issue permanently
