I went to bogota Colombia on a plane at night didn’t see a thing and the city is like 300 miles from the equator then we landed in Managua and drive inland into Matagalpa and the sky literally lit up, big cities have major pollution issues in large countries even in the tropics, Nicaragua’s lack of electricity in rural areas helps it have better night sky’s than Costa Rica where san Jose literally blocks all the stars above the center of the country

For the longest time when I was learning flags, I had so much trouble telling the difference between Nicaragua and El Salvador.
I would mix up Lesotho, Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador at times for some reason. They have distinct differences, but they would get garbled in my mind for some reason. Also Guinea, Mali, Chad and Romania. My color spectrum isn't normal I don't think
I think the best way to differentiate the two is that the Coat of Arms of Nicaragua looks quite simple (if you look at it from a distance) while the one from El Salvador is more detailed.
@@davej6805 Yeah, I've since learned to differentiate them, I'm saying when I first was learning vexillology I had that issue.

Guy with the Turkmenistan postcard here! Nice that the postcard arrived. I travelled the country on a Transit Visa, which is so special because that's the only way to visit Turkmenistan without a extremely expensive North Korea-like tour, otherwise it's not possible to get a Tourist visa. The country itself was like Wadiya from the movie "The Dictator", an absolutely crazy place. Let's wait some years for the Turkmenistan episode.

I wonder what he will do when Western Sahara comes up. Most maps I've seen, show it marked as if it were a country, but it is really a disputed territory. It's the only place he might possibly consider featuring as a country, that starts with a letter W. No side within the dispute plans to call it "Western Sahara" in the long run, as it would either be part of Morocco, or called Sarhawi Arab Democratic Republic.
