Indonesian: allow us to introduce our flag.
Peru is the native land of potatoes, quinoa, maca, quiwicha and all the super food fashionable nowadays lol as well the birth country of Pedro Paulet, who in 1895 was the first person to build a liquid-propellant rocket engine and, in 1900, the first person to build a modern rocket propulsion system. Interesting facts not a lot of people knows about.
The potato is native to the Andean countries. Evidence from 5000 to 8000 was found before Christ in the south of Peru near Bolivia.
and the guinea pig was an animal domesticated by the Incas, used for consumption and offerings, not everyone in Peru eats it but it is nutritious, they confuse it with the rat so they do not prove it
@@PRODIGIO-pm5lw thanks for saying nothing that I haven't said before in the text. Potato is peruvian we know it, no need to repeat it.
Giac Lomtoc But he is right though. It’s not ONLY Peru. Bolivia, Ecuador & Chile also had the same exact potatoes, quinoa, cuy, llama, vicuña, charquicán (where “jerky” got its name), etc.
Yawn! 😴I tire of your nationalist propaganda. Be gone, wannabe historical revisionist 🙄
Dhi Bee Dhi Bee no it’s from Peru, the ones found in Bolivia Ecuador Chile etc are variants of the original. I mean Peru has a potato lab for crying out loud. Pisco is Peruvian as well, named after the place it was created in, it couldn’t be more obvious. Ceviche, definitely Peruvian, no argument, history backs it. Those other Andean products you mentioned? Very peruvian derived, since the Andean culture was birthed in Peru. It’s not about nationalism, it’s facts.
Peru is home to the youngest mother in recorded history - Lina Medina, who gave birth to a baby boy by caesarian section when she was just five years old. The father was never indentified
I wish I was born in Perú. Such a fascinating country. I love Colombia but Perú has a special place in my heart
As cultural, I'm proud. No way to like Peru in political aspect and education. Greetings from Lima
Peruvians act in many ways like Colombians, and our country has been acting more like yours everyday.
Wait till you find out about our "Colombian side".
We come frome the same milenary tribe brother, love from Peru to all my parces.
I love Peru too
My grandma is from Peru. 👌
I'm surprised Inca Kola wasn't mentioned. It's unique flavor comes from lemon verbena, which might be comparable to bubble gum.
I've had Inca Kola, it's very good!
sí, todo los no peruanos dicen que sabe a chicle, jajaja, a mí me sabe a infancia
It's true thanks for the mention
Not bubblegum at all.
Yup tastes like bubblegum!
I’m a proud Peruvian and think there are so many hidden secrets
Anyone mentioned"Inca Cola"?
no which is sad!
Chicha? Mazamorra? Sad :(
Pisco pisco pisco
❤️❤️❤️
Vicuña are not as well known, but they are special. They are rare and have finer fibbers (better quality), vicuña wool is super expensive, that’s why the vicuña is the national animal. Also Peru has the most vicuñas
Also, llamas are domesticated animals (like alpacas), vicuñas are wild (like guanacos)
Yup, a...chaleco (I don't how to translate it) in a company called Incalpaca is somewhat more than 3500 soles (more than 1000 dolars).
I just loved the story of the Peruvians who attended the FIFA WC 2018.
Absolute class.
In the Andes there are four kinds of camels: llamas, vicuñas, alpacas and guanacos. Llamas and alpacas are domesticated, vicuñas and guanacos are wild. Llamas are also bigger and heavier out of the four, while vicuñas are smaller and lighter. That is all. Have a nice day, and greetings from Argentina!
You had a missed opportunity to start with “Hope you gave the video a stamp of a-PERU-val”
* *shows a cool 1800's Peru flag* *
Naahhh we don't have time to explain flags on flag friday... it's geography fain mail time
Me - What the actual ffff....
I know right! The video is 14:50 min and he use 4 min to explain about Peruvian Flags! That's bs!
- Hey, Patrick. Guess who I am.
- Wolf?
- No, I'm Poland.
- What's the difference?
National animal is the Gallito de las Rocas (bird) and flower La Flor de Cantuta
Yep
Not true, in reality Peru doesn’t have a national animal neither national flower
Ah, finally... after Oman...
BLOOD OF THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE FREEDUUUHM!
PS. Ah yeah. good luck on the keyboard warriors for the PH episode especially on the 1965-1986 time span.
Ohoho the comment section is gonna be a warzone next episode
Give me popcorn. This gon' be good.
Yep keyboard warriors for both sides
@@reymundalagos9889 Ohohohohoho... gonna need more popcorn for that.
@@jrcp3 yep. predicted.
I'm from Mexico and I honestly didn't know much about Peru until I watched this week's videos. Super interesting country, so full of culture and beauty. I wish to visit one day.
Actually the PERUVIAN flag was inspired by a dream San Martin had about pariguanas and their red and white feathers
Peru, the most interesting country in the world in my opinion. Incas, llamas, andes, etc. Been waiting so long for this episode and it turned out juts as expected. Good job!
Also that voicecrack at 3:58
Hi Albert Perú is the country of Yma Sumac, the best singer in the world wide, The Perrichole is The first Superstar and diva in this continent. Pedro Paulet the Father of the Astronautics, Tupac Amaru revolutionary , Tupac Yupanqui navigator and Inca conquester . Paddintong Bear and the emperor's new groove
LOVE PERU
Peru: Who re you?!!
Canada: Im almost you with a leaf.
Yes! Blood at last! Gracias Peru😁
Hello, hope you're having a fantastic day!
In the coat of arms, on the left side there are 2 broken leaves representing the 2 lost departments during the war of the Pacific (Arica and Tarapacá)
5:40 Delfina is a very, very, very, very rare female name, it means a dolphine but with "a" in the end so it is not masculine but femiline
Great video guys. Thanks!
Long live Peru, I am Peruvian and your comment makes me happy
Gracias por el video 😁
Honestly, I would totally buy a geography now calander.
Barbs: "We have a lot of Germans today".
Netherlands 1939 - 1945: "Hold my Anne Frank"
Okay this is dark but I have to admit it kind of made me laugh
Love the episode!!!
This episode was as long as the main episode, but was pretty smooth and connective with lots of anecdotes. And ya, so it makes Peru the 5th country with a flag within it's flag.
Finally Philippines is arriving next, expecting it to be epic.
Blood of Those Who Fought for the Freedom. At last!💪🏾😂
Now that you mentioned it, there are Swiss Chalets and Medieval cottages found hilly towns in the highland & plateau regions.
I've been in Peru, beautiful country, great video.
Pelase make a video of the states of Mexico!
if he makes a poll in patreon and Mexico won then yes he will do it
I might buy that remote islands book. looks cool.
I just found out Barb's is in his 30's I thought he was like 23 😂😂🤣
He's like 32 years old, he started this channel about 5 years ago, so he was about 27 when he uploaded his first video
The Nickelback reference made me laugh AF! great job
Ypo ft. Light- Peru-
Greek rap song...🇬🇷🤝🇵🇪
I was waiting for this flag friday.
BLOOD OF THOSE WHO FIGHT FOR THE FREEDOM yeah!
If have to go with Digimon personally Noah, excellent question.
you guys are awesome!!!
llama is the national animal of Peru.
Me: ..........
Why was your reaction .........?
@@mypanexogamouslineage965 because the llama is not our national animal.....
@@user-vj5dm7rf9s Well change it to the llama dud.
The Hat building is in CeleNdin. My mom said that, also she is very happy with the episode.
I hope Philippines is the I've been waiting for my country to be featured here!
*_Nice one bro u never disappoint us❤💯🔥_*
6:53 FKK stands for Freikörperkultur, which means a place where you can be nude outside. So that's a postcard sent from a nudist club in Germany!
Caleb is my spirit animal!!! Dude you're the best!!
wait is caleb an animal
The palm leaves bent downwards in the coat of arms represent the loss of two provinces, Arica and Tarapaca, lost after the War with Chile
The one postcard with the lighthouse ist from Germany , Falshöft. It's in the very north of Schleswig-Holstein right at the Baltic sea.
That two broken leaves on the left of the coat of arms represent the two lost provinces of Arica and Tarapaca to Chile in the pacific war
I don't think that's what they stand for.
GOTZ DEAOMA I’m peruvian, I know what they stand for
But that's just a myth. Also, only Arica was a province (of Tacna), Tarapaca was a department.
Shout out to this man right here
Can you check about the mummies? I understand the oldest ones are the Chinchorro mummies, but they were found in Chilean Atacama desert and have been studied and held there. Thanks.
The deal with llama Vicuña reminds me of Alaska state bird. People assume it is bald eagle ‘cause there’s lots o f them there, but it is actually the Ptarmigan.
If you wonder why you also see the flag with the coat of arms often, it's because that version is used for public and government institutions, while the one with nothing on the middle is our national flag, aka, Peru's flag. Many people don't know the difference or they think they're the same even though they're not.
My dog loves this final little song
Brush, soap, water. Use frequently; result - clean nails.
Disclaimer for the Philippines episode: brace yourselves for filipino non-geograpeeps spouting non-sense
Its typically came from pinoys themselves not foreigners
Non Geograpeeps Belike: Dam that's our Country!
awwwww man
jay fawn yeah, that’s what they said “pinoy non-geograpeeps”. It means Filipinos that aren’t a fan of Geography Now
90th comment! WOOOO! Am I first from Australia???
I have 1/4,331 chance of being the first one from Australia!
Anyways, I'm excited for Philippines episode :D
Can't wait for the Philippines' Fan Flag Friday episode in which our flag when inverted (red above blue), it means war! XD
That is true, many Peruvians have Asian roots, and as a Peruvian, I do have some Chinese roots
I'm afraid that I'm actually might have Asian roots because it's been song running joke in my family that I look Chinese
Or Filipino roots. *shrug* I dunno.
More than two centuries of galleon trade with Filipino sailors on board.
@@portalkey5283 you heard barbs? Chinese and Japanese, the origin of Asian blood in these places
@@jayfawn8478 do you not read?
jay fawn are you dumb?
I bet the Philippines video will have the highest number of views in the shortest span of time of all geography now vids 😂
Predicted.
I think it's either Turkey USA or UK
Gasp! Pokemon or Digimon? You didn't!
Also, thank you for featuring Peru! Excited for the Philippines!
🇵🇭
Thank you for properly using our flag!
Llamas and Alpacas 🦙 can be considered the second and third national animals of Peru, I mean it’s a given, they’re found mostly there.
Holy crap :0 Nobody might care, but it's feels really exiting seeing you receving a postcard from my hometown, small town in Poland Kołobrzeg. That's so strange seeing it :D
Kaleb talking with a russian accent...i think i'm in love.
geography now!-the philippines
Coming right up
Yes! Finally, the blood is back!!!
8:06 LoOk At ThIs RoMaNiAn CaStLlLe!!
Peruvian people love Colombian music, Puerto Rican reggaeton, and Argentinian rock.
No joke this helped me out in a Algebra project
When was the last episode with BLOOD OF THOSE? Seems like a while
If you slow down and pause the ‘blood of those who fight for the freedom’ clip, it’s weird. There looks like a commercial aircraft, like a 737? or 777? with afterburners (which is funny because those kinds of planes are not combative nor do they have afterburners) flying around while it’s raining llamas and the mountains are on fire and exploding , and there was a laser beam at some point... what?
Delfin is dolphin in Norwegian :)
I'm from Maine and I have those New England shoes
6:57 my German is a little rusty but doesnt FKK mean, like, nudism?
Exactly. It stands for "Freie Körperkultur" which translates to "Free Body culture". If you're at a FKK-Beach it means that everybody is naked
Yes😂
@@Wilfrid.Robarts I thought the climate was too cold for that x)
He doesn't do this with same enthusiasm as before... Been here from episode 1
The last episode should be on Christmas 2021
What about the Peru outro of like the Andes mountains song
I see the Irish and Peruvians can bond over their love of potatoes
Great episode! just a couple of fact checks: the atacama desert is in Chile, not Peru. The northen limit of it is in Arica. The mummies where found in Arica, so, yeah... that
Yeah, they peruvian then...
Flag Friday Peru episode - doesn't explain why sometimes the flag carries the coat of arms and why sometimes it doesnt or why there are two version of the coast of arms.
YEIIII BLOOD ANIMATION IS BACK!!!!
Noah being extra via his shirt and shoes on the table
It’s pretty funny that you say the Outer Banks because people who live in North Carolina normally don’t go to the Outer Banks because it’s really hard to get there but people who live north of North Carolina it’s really easy to get there cause the highway leads right on
I wonder if the Philippines' Flag Friday will mention the Katipunan flags?
Ooh, that will be interesting, especially for the American viewers. The initials "KKK" means.... _something else_ to them.
@@theobuniel9643 loool! hahaha
Cool.
Such a relief whatching the blood again.
The plugs! They aren’t the American plugs, they’re a hybrid between the American plug and European one but at 220v
Is the Keith shirt silk screened or iron on?
Waiting for the Philippines episode! 😍🇵🇭
Please in the Philippines' Flag Friday epidode, reasearch the real meanings of the flag (the symbolisms). Based it on the act of the declaration of independence, which states that
1. The blue, white and red are used in honor of the USA flag who "helped" liberate the Philippines from Spain (fact). Contrary to popular belief that blue means peace or red means war and bravery, or white for purity.
2. The stars mean the three principal islands: Luzon, Panay, and Mindanao (fact). Contrary to Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
3. The sun's 8 rays are the first 8 provinces which were under a state of martial law during the Philippine revolution (fact). Contrary to the 8 provinces that were allegedly the first to start the revolution.
4. The flag, upside down, means it is in a state of war (fact).
Please research extensively because I hve been your fan since the beginning and I have been waiting for the Philippines, my country, to be featured.
the number 1...I was like huh???...is that for real??..teodora agoncillo first weaved the flag in hong kong in 1898.. before the coming of the americans
It is what Aguinaldo and Rianzares Bautista wanted to mean of it. Read the Act of the Declaration of independence if you don't believe me. I didn't want to believe it at first but it is what it is.
Hindi totoo yung pang-una. Ginawa yan ni Emilio Aguinaldo at hindi binase sa watawat ng Amerika.
"...and the colors of Blue, Red, and White, commemorating the flag of the United States of America, as a manifestation of our profound gratitude towards this Great Nation for its disinterested protection which it lent us and continues lending us." -From the Act of the Declaration of Independence. Pakibasa na lang po yung full text ng Declaration of independence natin if you have anymore questions po. 😊
Itinulad sa kulay ng bandila ng America ang mga kulay sa bandila ng Pilipinas. (maliban syempre sa dilaw). Alam ko tinuturo 'to sa Philippine History na subject??
4:55 Did anyone read the ten commandments (which are written in Italian somehow)? I found them very funny. Here's the English version I found online:
Man is born tired and lives to rest.
Love thy bed as you love thyself.
Rest during the day, so you can sleep at night.
Do not work - work kills.
If you see someone resting, help him.
Work as little as you can, and convey all the work you can to another.
In shade is salvation - nobody died from resting.
Work earns illness - do not pass away young.
If you have an urge to work, sit down, wait and you’ll see it will pass.
When you see people eat and drink, approach them. When you see them work, withdraw yourself so as not to trouble them.
One more step!!!
4:43 any explanation why the Montenegrin commandments are written in Italian?
This is so epic
FINALLY BLOODY RED!!
*FKK* = "Freikörperkultur" = *Naturism* 🩲⛔
Thanks for another nice video! ☺️
Two red stripes and a white one in the middle. Where have I seen this before... multiple times ;)
