I feel like I'm the only one who really enjoyed this movie!! The songs were accurate, the jokes, even sometimes bad were also accurate! It's hard to portray the real Eurovision, but I am pleasantly surprised!

@@gobnock1980 no they blended Rachel and Molly's voices for some songs. The beginning of Double Trouble sounds more like Rachel, and all of Jaja Dingdong. I think though Molly is the only voice on Husavik with Rachel lip syncing.
@@lrose1310 They did the blending for all of the songs. The director was really adamant that they didn't come across as fake so Rachel sang every song live on set precisely to make sure it didn't look like she was lip syncing. Then they did the blending. Some songs were blended more than others though.
I hope this movie does the following:
1. Sparks curiosity in people who don't follow ESC.
2. (European) filmmakers get better ideas and make their own versions. (I'm surprised there weren't more ESC movies over the decades)
3. Eurovision fans get a little something to enjoy during these times.

I'm a Eurovision fan and I don't find anything enjoyable in the comedy about the thing that should be taken seriously. And Eurovision NEEDS to be taken seriously because even nowadays it can be a trampoline for a career if you are a musician
I just hope that they won't overdo the quirky part of Eurovision. I mean, yeah, the fireworks and stuff is part of Eurovision but it's not what the contest is about. For anyone who haven't heard about it before, it might just look ridiculous.

@@dimashirshkov7155 well, I wouldn't be that strict with saying that a comedy about Esc cannot be enjoyable. Eurovision definitely should be taken seriously because of what you said, and overall a lot of quality music is there, but some fun and comedy is also nice. My biggest concern though, is that Americans don't really understand the spirit, and the joke acts will overshadow everything. Shortly, that it will simply be too much and Americans will get this image of Eurovision, while it's not like that.
I like that everybody in cast and creators said about ESC with respect. Americans often don't trying understand things what not going in their country, but people in this movie do it

You demonstrate a complete lack of understanding or knowledge about Americans or American culture. America is the most diverse country in the world and is constantly trying to learn more about other people and cultures. Just because a large portion of entertainment media globally is from the US doesn't mean Americans are anything similar to entertainment media portrayals.

I also don't at all want to go there because I have always been interested in Asian culture nope! I also don't wish I could become a polyglot so that I could travel the world meeting different cultures nope! Oh, don't forget I don't want to become an Anthropologist to learn about the different cultures of the world. Yeah, you sure know about all Americans.

I love how Will's first Eurovision experience was the one hosted in Israel in 1999 and 20 years later he got to be and shoot at the 2019 one in Israel
As an American who has followed the contest for ten years, I am psyched that a big name like Will Ferrell is using his platform to bring the awareness of Eurovision to the US. I wouldn't say he is making fun of it but I see it more of a tribute to the cheesiness and awesomeness of Eurovision and the magic it brings. My hope is that this movie will take off and spark the curiosity of my fellow countrymen who I think would enjoy Eurovision since many of us are descended from Europeans and would help us appreciate our ancestors and heritage a lot more.
This is simply the BEST GIFT for all eurofans this year, especially in the absence of Eurovision itself! Dear friends, throw out of your head all the film's gaffes and enjoy a great movie that charges with positive energy! Thank you to everyone who made an effort to create this comedy! Real fans are grateful that you were able to convey the atmosphere of this holiday and bring us all TOGETHER to watch this movie!

I don't think that this will impact on a big market. The target group is clearly the Eurovision-Fanbase. But maybe, with Ferrell and Lovato in it, there's is a chance to grow big!

as a canadian and just learning about it now.. i'm so amazed how diverse the competitors are.. it shows that maybe we over here and in asia are really shallow.. It just nice to see a feel good of creativity and fun :)
I’m from Europe but how is Eurovision diverse? The most progressive thing that happened was a drag queen winning the contest, a tiny kiss between women and... a handful of non-white people hanging around? I mean, I absolutely love the show, but I wouldn’t describe it as “diverse”

@@ronkalkhoven2119 saying 'international' is actually misunderstanding: it should have been 'EUROPEAN and some SURROUNDING countries', because the participating countries should be both an EBU member and within the European Broadcasting Area. Australia is another case. They are invited until 2023.

If you know Eurovision well you will know that there is an organization called EBU that basically consists of an organization where there are some countries and all those countries can participate in Eurovision. They don't have to be from Europe even if the celebration or night is EURO Vision

Well, Let's see... They better not mocking our contest and make it looks like a tacky, cheap, joke thing when it's way more than this, cause I got a little bit excited about this movie. But after some Director's bad comments over Eurovision and the fact that a lot of the people involved on it never watched a single Eurovision on life, I was worried about what image they will pass to people who don't know what the contest really is, like for example, the big part that will watch only for Demi Lovato.
