thin flat headed screw driver in the clutch clamp to wedge and open it up a little while you push the bars through it ;)
Congrats on 500!!!!!!!!
Thanks man!
Congratulations brother
not sure if anyone cares but if you're stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my brother during the lockdown :)
@Waylon Forest yup, I have been using instaflixxer for since december myself =)
@Waylon Forest Yea, have been using InstaFlixxer for since december myself =)
Love watching your progress and excitement for doing so! Motivated to get a 351 for mine now. I think I would rather have straighter bars coming from motocross all those years.. i really don’t like the feel of the stock bars myself and they seem low to me
Also I’m curious about your helmet cam and mic set up if you don’t mind touching on that in a video.. I’m sure it’s the standard that everyone is using but just curious what you have .. sounds pretty good
@@tq64to4 You won't regret it! I think the bars I got are just about perfect. They are a little straighter and higher up too. It gives a nice feel compared to the scooter bars that the KLX comes with lol. I made a motovlog setup video before my 351 announcement video too. If there is anything else you'd like me to detail out in that video, I'd be happy to do so.
JH Motor Club oh must have missed that one I’ll check it out
Just picked up me a 2019 with 2 miles on it... Rode it 40 miles from the dealer to the house... Love the bike so far..except for the seat dammmmm it's hard as a brick.
Congrats on the new bike! I really like how mine is set up now. The bike has a lot of room for growth. I couldn't agree more about the seat. I have Seat Concepts and it is amazing!
Why your choice in the Henry... bend? Seems theCharmichael are actually lower, 77 vs 92 in height and 40 vs 66 in rise.
Just bought a 2020 klx 250 ordered my fender eliminator kit from TST industries and I believe it was $115 bucks with shipping and then add another $20 for a led flasher relay to the cart so that your blinkers don’t go faster then stock and you should be all set, I’ll post a video for you once it gets here and I install it.
I've heard of them! I really like their integrated signals. Hopefully, I'll get a tail tidy solution soon!
Turn it into a supermoto!
It is on the list of things to do for the KLX!
Show us a video of the USB tender!
Tail tindy, front reflectors removal, horn relocation mod next?
Definitely gonna fix up the tail. I would also like to get a Denali Soundbomb horn.
Can you make a video where you go offroad with this bike?
I plan on making one, it's just a little difficult to get out to the trails. I'll get there eventually though
Did you have any issue with the clutch cable length being to short?
Which way would be best to put the lower mounting brackets because no matter which way you put the lower mounting brackets it still would measure 3 1/4”?
Nice bars, what mirrors do you have? Congrats on 500!
Thanks! Here is the link to the mirrors, I had to wrap some electrical tape around the ball to make them fit tighter with these bars:
www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002GTKAHQ/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=revzoot-20&camp=1789&creative=9325&linkCode=as2&creativeASIN=B002GTKAHQ&linkId=c9280dce4ec36462e168951a9fe41580
What model of pro taper did you use? I bought a pair on Amazon and I couldn’t get the controls on there without new cable lengths. Also, there were no holes for the controls to lock into. I didn’t want to start drilling, so I have sent them back and put the stock bars back on.
I used 1 1/8" Pro Taper Reed Contour Bars. Depending on the sweep and how you mount the bars, longer cables may be needed. Mine did not need them. Some people drill into the bars, but most people just wrap the bar in electrical tape a couple times to get the controls to not move.
Just did the same setup with some protaper CR High bend bars (similar to yours). It was a heck of a time getting my throttle cable situated and it seems tighter than I would like. You still running completely stock cables?
I am running the stock cables. They are just long enough that they do not get tugged on from full lock to full lock. Most people run a KLR clutch cable and get the throttle cables from Motion Pro if longer cables are needed.
Hey did you have to get an extended clutch/throttle cables? Putting Fatbars on my 2009 and it’s uncomfortably tight
I did not. The clutch cable does get tight when full lock to the left. However, it does not disengage the clutch at all. Anymore sweep or height from bar risers would probably need a longer cable. I think people spoke of using the KLR clutch cable if I am not mistaken
That cooling fan came stock ya?
Yup! It barely comes on though lol
Hi! love all the klx content. Just tried to install same bars on the klx. Do you have a small gap on you throttle housing? Seems like the bar is to wide for plastic housing...Also finding issues with the clutch cable length. Did you lengthen the clutch at all to fit new bars? They look nice at least.
I appreciate that, thanks! The throttle housing fit just like it did stock. I did not have any issues with it. My clutch cable also works fine. There is less slack than when it was stock but still works. It really depends on the sweep and height of the bar and how far forward or back the bars are mounted (or rather how much they are rotated in the clamps). Worse comes to worse, people end up using the KLR650 clutch cable to get more length.
@@jhmotorclub6916 Thank you for the help. I forgot to drill holes for housing like stock bars. Once we did that worked great.
Hey dude, maybe you've answered this before but what mirrors are those? thanks
They are Kawell under bar/bar end mirrors! Here is the link:
www.amazon.com/Kawell-Motorcycle-Davidsons-Kawasaki-Cruisers/dp/B002GTKAHQ/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=kawell+mirrors&qid=1597265811&sr=8-1
@@jhmotorclub6916 Thanks man!
Sure thing!
I just realized i put my bar adapters on backwards lol. Also i would recommend zeta hand gards with the turn signals their pretty cool. Congrats on 500!!
Thank you! I guess if they have survived this long, they are probably alright lol. Those look pretty sick with the signals built in!
I just put pro taper evo on my klx 250 and instructions said mount orientation depends on stock mount width they want them to be 4 to 4.5 inches apart I think
Are you running the 13t front sprocket?
Not anymore, I took it off when I installed the big bore. I figured I probably wouldn't need the extra punch from the sprocket. That's not to say it is useless now because it would be great for a supermoto track and slower wheelies
How’s the duck tape holding up? Also did you just use one layer of duct tape? Put new bars on now. If you could please respond. Thanks
I used electrical tape. Duct tape works too. It is still working well, the controls do not move. I think about one and a half layers ended up being the best. Just use as much as you can fit with the controls still fitting together with no gaps between the two halves.
JH Motor Club I used one wrap of duct tape and it worked perfect. I’m surprised how they do not move. I installed 7/8 pro taper bars. They are much straighter than the stock bars. I’m wondering if that would help me fit some wrap around hand guards. Any recommendations on that. Thanks for your help so far👍
@@rcinoc3948 The tape idea is really useful. I would recommend Cycra Probends. They include barkbusters and the plastic guards as well. So, they protect the levers and your hands more importantly. Then, the plastic helps deflect the wind a bit too. I plan on getting a set soon.
So I just bought a set of acebris handgaurds and noticed that the stock handlebars have a smaller hole so the bolt will not fit on the end do I return the handguards or do I get a new set of handlebars? Need help as soon as possible thanks #pacificnorthwestKlx250
WTF, you didn't need to remove all that stuff. I didnt
lol didnt realize you replaced the bars
Did you get a longer brake cable and clutch cable im having trouble finding longer ones
I did not have to for my bars. Others reported needing longer cables. The KLR650 cable is usually utilized for a longer clutch cable.
@@jhmotorclub6916 what about gettin a new front brake cable made. Motion pro?
If needed; however, most people just need the clutch and throttle cables. For the throttle cables, people utilized Motion Pro.
@@jhmotorclub6916 where or how would I chop the klr650 cable, got it thinkin it wouldn't be that much longer and was obv very wrong,
@@the87ghosts I have not heard of anyone chopping the KLR cable. The main thing would be getting the barrel end on and attaching it to the side you cut off. Through a quick search, I saw some people reattach it by soldering it. You could get a KLX300 clutch cable, which is 2 inches longer than stock. The KLR cable is apparently 4 inches longer.
Yo I have another question for you
That’s not a hill that’s a Jump
Lol it is now!
why in the fk did you not actually show the process, lmao. Thanks for almost nothing!
Still a good vid.
Don't use duct tape, instead you want to use electrical tape!
