    Great idea on the jackery. I wish Tesla had a 110 outlet like the f150 lightning has. An instant pot 7 in 1 3 quart is rated at 700 watts and you can do so much with it. I think I would just recharge the jackery with the cigarette outlet than bother with those solar panels.

      @bryanhauer  Před rokem +2

      Yep 👍 That’s what I usually do. If I’m out in the wide open West for a few days I’ll use the solar panels, but usually just keep it plugged into the 12v and haven’t had any issues with that running at the same time as my fridge/freezer.

    Great compilation of my favorite parts of your camping videos! I’ve always been impressed with the fact that you take the time to set up the cameras to document every aspect of your travels including making meals, charging and setting up camp. Makes for very enjoyable videos - this is my favorite CZcams channel and it’s not even close. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!

    Nice!!! Thanks for the video. I find that an Electric skillet is all I need (inherited it from parents, made in 1970). I have learned how to bake in it as well.

    BTW: I've started to use a mandolin for thin slicing. It works great slicing vegetables for sandwiches and lemons for fish as well as slicing up a vegetable side dish. Handheld versions weigh less than a pound. For me it's a cheap and easy professionalizer. I usually just rinse it clean.

    I use a 300w buydeem travel kettle cooker and a 600w instant pot duo mini to cook my meals. Very energy efficient for making little one pot type meals. Can still fry somewhat in the instant pot, but probably not as well as you could on that 1000w cooktop. That said, I bought a 700w bluetti as my power station to I had to stick to smaller wattage for it. Try out an instant pot sometime, it could replace one or more of your pots and provide more functionality too.
    One of the things I love about the instant pot is that because it's enclosed I can have it simmering a soup, like making a bone broth or whatever, in the back of the car all day while I'm driving.

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  Před rokem

      Thanks. Great tips 👍 I’ll have to try an instant pot.

    • @1AJohnnyCruiser
      @1AJohnnyCruiser Před rokem +1

      My 3 quart instant pot says 700 watts on the side. I use it several times a day at home. I even take it on vacations if I can

  • @MechayaAlta
    @MechayaAlta Před rokem +1

    A small induction stove is about the same size as your hot plate, is faster, draws less power, and probably safer as the surface doesn’t get hot. I use one with a Jackery 1000. I use the Duxtop 1800, about $70. Amazing with a cast iron pan.

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  Před rokem

      I’ve looked, but the wattage was about the same or more. Although it would probably heat up a bit faster. Also I’d have to get new pots/pans as I don’t think mine are magnetic. I’ll probably switch at some point. One aspect I do like about them is that they don’t take forever to cool down.

    • @MechayaAlta
      @MechayaAlta Před rokem +1

      Just use a small magnet and see if it sticks to what you already have. I haven’t tried it, but there are small containing iron disc that can go on top of an induction stove and then any pot would work.
      Imagine how great it would be if Tesla made a small minivan like the old VW Westfallia pop top.

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  Před rokem

      I tried. This set from Target isn’t made for it unfortunately.

    How do you clean your cooking gear on your trips. I assume the air fryer doesn't get dirty easily because there is no oil. You have inspired me to go on trips

    • @bryanhauer
      @bryanhauer  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks! That's so cool 😀 Glad I was a little inspiration. I used to have a small expandable sink, but rarely used it so now I just run water from my 7 gallon jug to rinse items off and use environmentally safe soap. I also use food grade wipes to finish cleaning dishes off which you can get here on Amazon: geni.us/UloZ

      Hey Timothy - Thanks for the questions. Typically Target bags for trash & then dump at campground specified area or when I head to town next & Eat Cleaner food grade wipes for dishes if I have no water or if I do have plenty of water I use CampSuds cleaner. I'll link to both below:
