  • Sleep restriction, regular wakeup time, CBTi rules and actionable plans on one side; lack of restrictions, gentleness and flexibility - on the other. Which one is better? Can it be both? How can we know which one is the best for us? Sharing some thoughts and reflections on choosing the path.

The moment that I learned from you that I cannot control when and if I fall asleep, that it is my body that does that, I had fixed 99% of my insomnia. Thank you Alina.

Thanks for sharing this. Mind can be really tricked in many ways. By breaking the rules, you kind of have instructions to mind that it is now free and no need to be restricted so kinda loosen it up. It got it's inner strength from freedom. The more freedom we give, the more it kind of getting uncontrolled and start setting rules again and back to restricted itself. So keeping a balance is good. Sometimes sticking to rules, sometimes breaking it out keeps you giving a sense of balance in your life. The more you aligned with universal energy, easy we will sleep.

Amazing video Alina and so spot on ❀ For me too a structured approach was helpful at the beginning but I only started to really sleep good when I naturally adopted less rigidity. Funny thing is my recent speedbump happened and is persisting because I realized I was breaking some 'rules', like not sleeping in or wearing earplugs. Now I feel like a total prisoner of structure but for some reason there is this false belief that if I don't follow these structures I keep teaching the brain the narrative that sleep is important. Do you have any advice on how to let go of false beliefs?
PS as a funny side note of the absurdity of this struggle between structure and flexibility, last night I was so conflicted whether to wear earplugs or not I ended up wearing only one haha
