    "Solving Insomnia is not about adding more solutions, (... rather) we are looking at what we have right now and seeing how we can dissolve it". Just one quote full of wisdom from a video I keep returning to to remind myself of what overcoming insomnia really means ❤

    Thank you Alina. I think this maybe one of the most important videos. After nearly a year of struggle and suffering I find there is still so much resistance to waking up in the middle of the night - creating inner turmoil. I have learnt so much from you & Daniel and yet it hasn't been emotionally processed. When I have had periods of sleeping better I can see that I haven't been OK with being awake & now I'm going through a so called set back.
    Thank you again.
    By the way have you come across Internal Family Systems (Dick Schwartz) - your teachings resonate so much with this form of therapy?

    Hi Alina!
    Yesterday i found a new pressure: sometimes when i really tired i take a pill to help me to sleep. Yesterday i took it and i felt ,oh now i have to sleep now because i took the pill, and of course sleep didnt happen. So watched and enjoyed some videos to call myself down and could go back to sleep. In the past pills always helped me, i delegeted the task of sleep to the pill. But after gathering these new infos from Dániel and you and know that is delegating, pills dont help anymore. Is that make sense? Is it a good sign in my recovery or just a new approach towards pills?
    Thank you ❤

      Hi Raju! It's nice to hear that you've been sleeping more lately! You know, sometimes I also feel sleepy after a night where I sleep a lot. I have a theory that sometimes sleeping TOO much can be also tiring :) Also I think sometimes, when we begin to focus on one aspect which we think shouldn't be there, then it is more likely to get sticky, but shifting attention on the day can help us break the cycle of self-monitoring.

    Hi Alina, thank you for you videos. This last bout of insomnia after coming off med. I had many day no sleep a tiny bit then many days nothing with anxiety symtons at night. Finslly now I am seeing some improvement. It's like Some days or day. I will get sleep and others I will not get anything. My anxiety is finally coming down at night. I'm starting to not be anxious and just accept. My question is. Should I keep going how I am? Is this a part of the healing journey where you are not afraid , but you still have nights of no sleep aka hyper arousal? Thank you in advance. I really wish I get coaching right now but at this time i can not. -Kristen B

    Hey Alina!❤ I agree with you but i have a question i am little confused.i agree that we can let our feelings there but on the other hand we need to respond ok to sleepless night,because our response with fear and anxiety it was the first thing that lead us to this journey.Sorry for my english im from Greece i hope you understand what i am asking ! We say that we need to respond diffrent but how we respond diffrent to teach the brain and the same time accept the feelings ?

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi! Changing our response to wakefulness is, no doubt, really, really helpful. However, our response to our feelings is important too. If frustration shows up and we treat it as an unwelcome guest, that frustration will find its way to stay there until we acknowledge and process it. This is why suppressing any natural emotions that arise just adds more pressure and makes us feel like our feelings are the problem, while in reality, our attitude to the feelings is what creates suffering. So whenever possible, we change the response both to wakefulness and the feelings themselves: "It's okay that I'm awake right now, and it is also okay to have preference to be asleep right now" - we accept both ourselves and external factors, if that makes sense. Hope this adds some clarity!

      @@FearlessSleep yes it makes sense to me ! It's hard but with time I believe can happen ,I'm in the place that the anger of not sleep has replaced the emotion of fear,for example yesterday I wasnt falling asleep and I cry from anger and I said fuck it I just have close my eyes and suddenly I slept .It's something like that the acceptance ?(it came naturally not intent)

      Hi Gabriela, I had a chance to talk to many people of different age groups and circumstances, including women going through menopause or post menopause. Of course there are many things that can create sleep disruption in anyone, but what fuels on-going insomnia isn't something tangible but rather it is our fears and beliefs around sleep that get us into a vicious cycle. And I can see how addressing these fears help people feel more at peace which naturally leads to more effortless sleep. You might want to look at the Success stories playlist on The Sleep Coach School youtube channel - czcams.com/play/PL6RQ1GS7B1cj-BrjzTQ-kZGq-JEvY5pT5.html where some people came back to share their progress in order to encourage others :)

    Hi Alina, I’ve been dealing with insomnia for 3 months now, I am aware of techniques like sleep restriction and such. I’m just confused on what kind of mindset I should have because sometimes I watch your videos and it says to learn to accept everything no matter what the night may seem like. Yet some videos you say that there should be no pressure to accept anything or no pressure at all? So I’m just confused because by default my mindset just worries about sleep.

    • @FearlessSleep
      @FearlessSleep  Před rokem +1

      Hi John, good question. Ultimately, it is about acceptance of any outcome. But that said, acceptance can't be forced. So when we can't accept a night when we sleep little (and that can happen), pushing ourselves to accept might only increase pressure. This is when we can see what we can actually accept. And sometimes accepting that we can't accept is acceptance too. Hope this brings clarity!
