The thing that frustrated me probably the most was the fact the entire plot happens is because the main character blabbing about the name to everyone.
I know. All he had to do was to shut his pie hole and everything would have been fine!
And that's not even what bothers me the most... The idiots that get chased by the guy with a shotgun are the worst: they hear gunshots, yet wait five minutes on the sidewalk for the guy to reappear(the whole scene at the beginning where he enters the house, kills the woman, go in the next room, interrogate the wheelchair guy, kills him, etc.)THEN they run back to their house! What have they been doing all this time is a complete mystery to me.

The first time I saw this movie I was genuinely scared ( I'm a complete coward) until the moment they showed the Bye Bye Man because he looks like fucking Emperor Palpatine from Star Wars. Even I wasn't scared after that, like I actually laughed whenever he was on the screen.

No, she knows who the main guy is taking about, but she just never heard the Bye Bye Man's name. From what I gathered from watching this terrible movie back in February (for free, I might add). The Bye Bye Man only has power over you if you know his name, keep thinking his name, and fear his hallucinations. She never knew the name, her husband refused to tell her so she didn't suffer the same fate as him and the others he had to kill.

I already thought of a back story for the bye bye man that is already better than nothing.
The Bye Bye Man Origins: The Real name of the bye bye man is unknown due to him being homeless and living in train carts for the majority of his young life. The bye bye comes from when his mother would say that so he wouldn't be scared and try to sooth him but would only scare him more. The coins and hoodie come from when his parents died when he was only a child and all they left him with was the coins they would gather on the stops and a hoodie to keep him warm. How he creates his allusions is after his parents died he turned to black magic to get rid of the nightmares he had of his fears, he is able to control his dreams but as he is learning how to do that he is also able to create nightmarish allusions and with time was able to make others see these allusions. The reason for the dog is that when he had gotton rid of his fears he was alone in the world and one day while terrorising people with his new ability he stumbled across a dog that was close to death with its fur gone and it being in critical health condition he used his new abilitys in dark magic to keep the dog alive but it was to forever be in the condition it was in when he found it. The reason behind him being a ghost in a way is that once he was caught practising dark magic and the one behind all the deaths of those who died due to their worst fears occuring and killing themselves and others he was killed by a court and was hanged and after a few minutes of being there, his eyes and tounge were cut off by bystanders watching, his last words were bye bye, the words his mother used to comfort him when scared. After his death his dog died and people mocked him and started calling him the bye bye man to insult his death. Due to his strong abilities in dark magic he was able to escape death and roam the earth as a dark spirit with no remorse for those who mock him and he had returned his long time dog to keep him company as he would spend eternity on earth killing those who would dare tease his death

- It was written by some guy who was on Survivor (and is the director's husband)
- The director is paralyzed from ALS and as of 2020 she can only move her eyes
- This movie sat on the shelf for two years before it was unfortunately released
- It was produced by Huayi Brothers and scored by the Newton Brothers

Why do characters in bad movies always do their best to be run over by a car? I mean seriously, this is among the biggest cliches nowadays. You can even tell beforehand - either by the driver not looking at the road or by the doomed character having a dramatic moment while walking backwards to the centre of the road (for some reason).
First off, loved this video! Love your review in general man :). Would it be possible to make more Nic Cage movie reviews? Something like Vampire's Kiss or Deadfall. There should be more Nic Cage movie reviews out there because the guy is just awesome. Keep it up man.

6:12: In defense of TBBM, it's possible that the decision to terminate the scene in this manner was either to protect the viewer from content that was even worse (remember how the screenplay Wiseau's "The Room" was actually based on a never-published 550-page novel?), material that screwed up the movie's tonal consistency (really common choice with a lot of scenes that get deleted from movies), or disclosed material that did not advance the plot, among other possibilities. Great video, and keep up the good work! :D
