Two things that bothered me the most:
1. First thing Johnny Storm does when he is in the other dimension is to take a picture and put it on Instagram. Classified information by the way.
2. The guy had WIFI, WIFI in the other dimension ???? WHAT?
Oh dear, you're completely right... I totally forgot about it! XD
Also, what bothered me the most was Ben attitude throughout the movie. He's pissed towards Reeds about the disaster that transformed them but there's a small thing that doesn't even make the least bit of sense: Ben was completely sober and fully aware of the risks he took yet he acts as if he was dragged at gunpoint into this! He was the sole person that hasn't drink any alcohol(everyone else was tipsy) and he was like "sure, I'll let you drive!"
If there was something about Ben projecting his anger as a defense mechanism I would totally dig that but nope! I even thought he would be the villain with Doom followed by his redemption and maybe a scene where he and Reed forgive each other but NAAAAH!
I bought this movie thinking it would be harmless, cheesy fun like the Chris Evan ones but again, a million nopes!
@@anikmonette2140 This movie is so bad it's hard to even comment on it. First, it tries to pass on the notion that being a kid who's into science is something that will get you into trouble with your teachers at school. I know there are are many problems with the education system in the US, but unless you're in Texas or Utah, as far as I know, science is still not banned in schools.
Second, not of the characters earn up to the shit they themselves caused and pull the victim card, like the good SJW tools they are.
Third, Doom is again made into a pathetic tool that just wants something petty, instead of THE GREATEST AND NOBLEST VILLAIN IN ALL COMICBOOK HISTORY EVER!!!!
And I'm done, this is way more effort than this movie is worth.

Dr. Doom is a brilliant scientist, a master of the mystic arts, and the king of his own country. Why can't we just have, for once, a comic book accurate adaptation of one of the most dangerous and formidable bad guys in Marvel?
Fear not, just heard Kraven the hunter is an animal lover in the new movie...
Doom is also a malignant narcissist, just like Donald J Trump. That means he's got crippling flaws, to the point that Doom would be outright incompetent. He might be somehow dangerous in the comics, but realistically he'd be a joke in real life.

This makes you appreciate the 2004 version especially since it was humorous, the team actually got to bond. And I always loved how there powers were based of there personality. Oh let's not forget the most important part that Stan Lee gave it his blessing.

That movie was so bad I don't think Josh Trank's version would be any better. I think he saw it and thought I better say it wasn't my fault.

+Evan Ritchey Trank's version was that good either. His version was dark, brooding, and dull. He didn't even have a 3rd act for the film yet. It took Fox right around filming that his script wasn't good and they tried to fix it up with reshoots but that just made it even worse. Nobody didn't even care for the source material or they movie for that matter.

+Xaviergray87 That's also a bad sign for Josh Trank AND Max Landis. Since Chronicle, their track record hasn't been good lately. Landis done a couple of films that's been flops back to back and Trank first big blockbuster film is one of the worst superhero film and the most talked about comic book movie scandal news (Trankgate). Not only has MBJ been lucky with Creed, but Kate Mara was lucky with the Maritian. Miles Teller next film is Allegiant (probably going to be lucky) and not so sure about Jamie Bell. I can say the same for some of the actors in Landis films as well. I think they both bad luck for actors.

Hollywood literally believes that it requires a superpower to do what any college student studying statistics can do.
Knowing the comic Reed Richards, an 11 year old reed developing teleportation isn't too far fetched. Reed is the (2nd) smartest person on earth.
This did not have to be a "FF4" movie. It has nothing to do with them. It's just a generic sci-fi movie.
There's a Denny's tie-in commercial about The Thing about to tuck into a nice bug hamburger named after him when he's interrupted by a sudden explosion coming from outside. He sighs in annoyance and the server offers to put his order in a doggie bag for him so he can go out and do his super-heroing stuff.
This commercial, IMO, more successfully captures the essence of the Fantastic Four in 15 seconds than the movie does in 100 minutes.

Got the cake and it was tasty. After eating the cake I watched the Fantastic 4 movie and oh boy that movie gave me the shits for a week straight. Lesson learned, cake is a healthier option than watching Fantastic 4.

I went to the theater to see this movie, and nothing of any importance was happening! When I realized that there was only about 20 minutes left and they hadn't even fought Dr. Doom yet....yeah, the movie is a waste of time.
And that's one reason why the movie's not "Fantastic". It's "Fant4stic". One of the worst and dumbest titles for any movie ever, and possibly the worst attempt at a Fantastic Four movie. Even the 1994 one was at least hilariously bad, and had them fight Dr. Doom, even if you couldn't understand what they were saying, and The Thing had pants in every other movie, but they NOW decide that it's ok for a gigantic orange rock man to just have his dong hanging out for the ENTIRE movie, distracting everybody...oh wait, there WASN'T an audience for this garbage. Literally every other Fantastic Four movie is better, and have better plots and actually fight Dr. Doom. Like the other ones. Because in the 2005 movie, they at least had both Galactus AND the Silver Surfer. In this movie, it's just boring science facts and science talk throughout, with Victor being a moody ass the entire time, it looking and feeling like a soap opera for some parts, and being dreary and hard to see at times, and being good when you need to sleep. Because it means you don't have to sit through Fant4stic, anymore. Also, Dr. Doom's design in this looks hilariously bad, and doesn't even look like Dr. Doom at all. And also, Johnny Storm doesn't even WANT to be there, dude just wants his car back from his father or something, then just becomes capable of lighting himself on fire after going to space or another dimension or whatever the hell. Its the most boring and disappointing superhero movie of the year, that doesn't ever even feel like a superhero movie. Plus, this was the 4th time they tried to do a "Fantastic Four" movie, and failed at it. There's no investment from the audience, because we've already left or fallen asleep, and there's absolutely NOTHING to be invested in throughout the whole thing. Worst, Fantastic Four movie ever. Glad I never saw it, but I'm sorry you had to sit through the 3 hour long bore that was Fant4stic. If you want to see a good Fantastic Four movie, check out the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. I know there's 5 of them, but the GOTG are a way better team than these wannabes pretending to be the Fantastic Four. But the best Marvel superhero team, (The Avengers), as we all know the X-Men were way better than the "Not-So Fantastic Four" here.

Don't let Josh Trank off the hook by blaming the reshoots. The actors have remarked about how difficult it was to work for him and how he kept demanding they tone down their affect, resulting in the flat performances from what is really a fantastic (sorry) group of actors. Combine that with his misguided vision of making this a body horror super hero movie, and I think this is one time you can't blame FOX.

Before I even watch the review, I have to comment that the main problem I have with this film is that there was no middle. You got this long, drawn out introduction/origin story, and then they battle their old friend and decide to become superheroes. And it ends. It either had to be a little longer, or they should've trimmed the beginning.

Face Off is excellent. Heavily flawed but I can't bring myself to put it in the "so bad it's good" pile. Maybe in a few years I will watch it again and realize that it aged badly but as it is I don't see too much wrong with it. The tone is silly but you know instantly what you're in for when the movie starts, and this atmosphere is consistent throughout the whole movie.
I... kinda agree with you on the dialogues. They're not really good but since the movie itself feels like it tries to be surrealistic I have this very weird, yet familiar impression that I'm in a dream. And usually when I try to interact with people in my dreams it sounds disturbingly like the dialogues in the film...
What would be interesting is to know is if John Woo is secretly a genius that tried to make his audience experience derealization or if he was overworked and near a mental breakdown when he made this movie! ; )

You know...a lot of Zack Snyder fanboys get behind releasing his cut of Justice League because they've seen what they like in Man of Steel and BvS.
I saw the trailers for Fant4stic and technically found enjoyment while watching the film itself (the fun game of identifying reshoots as well as saying to myself "Wait...where was the second act?"), and I've got to say... Why CAN'T we get a Josh Trank cut of this movie?
Here's my proposal: when the MCU makes their own Fantastic Four movie, have a DVD or Blu-Ray box set released of ALL versions of all the prior movies. This includes
1994 Fantastic Four (if they can find a higher quality version),
Both theatrical and extended cuts of the 2005 film,
ROTSS, and
Both theatrical and Trank's cut of Fant4stic.
Disney could stand to make a profit off of it since they'd be selling the MCU film, the childhood nostalgia films, and never-before-seen films (the aforementioned high-quality '94 film and Trank's cut of Fant4stic).

What bothered me the most is that Johnny Storm was black. Being politically correct can just get out of the hand, and before people raise an eyebrow, I would be just as mad if they turned Black Panther into a white guy. The messed up my nostalgia. xD
You should review Hellboy 2019, it suffered a lot of the same problems this did, although in my opinion it's a pretty enjoyable movie
Dont forget that he also did not place 1st in the Science Fair. With a teleportation device.
And Professor Homer Simpson says it's because they deal in science fact not science fiction even though since Reed's invention worked that means that in the film's universe it is science fact.
There are great comic book films out there like Avengers, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Iron Man, Spider-Man 2 and several others that are great and that you can tell were made by filmmakers with their 100% effort. Fat4stic feels like it was made with a 35% effort. The basic foundations for a solid superhero movie were there! But anytime the movie started looking like it was going to pick up and do something interesting that the filmmakers just decided to not do it.
Please review the last airbender!!!!! That movie was so bad.... So bad..... Mispronouncing the names, bad acting, rushed plot, bad cinematography, bad directing, rock benders can only life up what looks like a 5 pound rock..... So many bad things...

Why doesn't your channel have more views? I'm always watching reviews on youtube and I think what makes you unique is that there's nothing geeky or nerdy about you; whereas Chris Stuckman, Jeremy Jahns, and YMS all are kinda dorky (despite being good). You're like a normal guy telling us how movies are. That's what I love about this.

This movie tosses out source material and was directed by a person who is apathetic to comic books in general, so there's endless reasons why this movie is trash from that point alone, I can from a creative standpoint appreciate its bold approach to do something different, and to play Devil's Advocate I can say maybe that Victor von Doom was approached to work on the project because the person who made it work was not willing to co-operate.

UPDATE: Fox did let it go. Well they sold it back finally, to Marvel/Disney along with everything that isn't fake right wing news. So in a few years when theaters reopen? We will get a good F4 movie, or at least Marvel's 1st Family will be back home.

I don't want to brag but... I built a teleporter when I was a kid; I admit, I got the idea cuz my family watched Star Trek. You went into -- let's call it Station 1 that was made from the cardboard box our new dryer came in. You pushed the right buttons that I drew on the walls and crawled out the bottom "hatch" and crawled along the floor til you got to your destination and then you slowly stood up as you reformed. I even had a STATION 2 which was the box that our new washer came in. I guess I'm saying, some recognition would be nice.
The fantastic four put Marvel on the map,, the first family of comics and the cornerstone of Marvel until they went X-everything in the 90's and is still doing it. The FF has been forgotten and treated like crap in comics for close to 30 years and the movies are no different, they have all been trash total disgrace for Marvel's iconic team that changed the comic world forever

This review is full of sarcasms and funny banters...it's quite fantastic!
I think my favorite thing about this review/recap is how reasonably perplexed and outraged he is that Reed was overlooked for his massive intellect and fabrication capabilities his whole life, but then is equally perplexed and outraged when he is recognized for it.
"They offer him a full scholarship... based on what?"
Two minutes ago: "Seven years ago, Reed built [a functioning teleportation device]."
One minute before that: "...to build a teleportation device, he would have to be some sort of genius; at least extremely gifted in the areas of physics or mathematics."

Because my older sister loved to teach I learned algebra by first grade. From that alone I was skipped a grade and put into "gifted" programs. I can only imagine that if Reed cracked inter dimensional travel in 5th grade that SG-1 would have been on his doorstep.
I love seeing different movies through Mark's point of view, hilarious. For a few minutes, I forget about my troubles and have a good laugh.

I can’t speak to the quality of the other movies, but I’m quite sure that the reason that this Fan4stic 1 movie wasn’t good, and is so disliked by people is because it was adapting the story of the Fan4stic from an alternate universe rather than the story of the Fan4stic A from the main universe or Earth 616. An Alt-F4 movie was F4ted to be deleted without saving before it could make it to production. At least, they actually sent them into space in the one with Captain America as the temporary intern like they did with Spider-Man, She-Hulk etcetera.

I was actually expecting Fantastic Four to be a good movie, I was very disappointed in seeing it had almost no action at all, except for the end.

The truth is they never intended to make this movie. They were up against a deadline where they had to make it or loose the rights to use the characters, and they were hoping to sell the rights. This movie begin only the bare bones of a production and casting as a show that they were prepared to make the movie to any potential buyers who were trying to run out the clock. But nobody bought, and they didn't want to let the rights go back for free. Disney called their bluff and Fox was forced to make the film they had put little effort into, or loose the rights back to Disney. They chose to make the film.
