Godzilla Minus one producer Minami Ichikawa said this in interview, "I don't feel the need to rush the next live-action film. Good films are all about quality. We want great ideas, an excellent script, a talented director, and the right cast to work on it carefully.” I think Toho saw what's going with Hollywood and they don't want to make same mistake. The fans are perfectly ok with it too, so I say take your time Toho!

Not surprised by Aquaman, it has everything going against it. Amber. Turd, superhero fatigue and the reset of the DCEU. It was bound to be a flop. Unfortunate because I enjoyed the first one a lot. Excited for what James wan does next though. Hope he does another horror film or even Saw XI

I saw The Boys in the Boat on Tuesday and then Ferrari (and Godzilla Minus One for a third time) on Friday. I really enjoyed The Boys in the Boat. A really good inspirational sports film. I enjoyed Ferrari but it is important to know it's a drama with racing in it not really a racing film. And Godzilla Minus One was great to see for a third time in the theater
If just Ferrari is half as good as Ford Vs. Ferrari (see what I did there 😊) then it is a shame it isnt doing as well.
Going to be a big dry spell before my next in theatre movie. Dont know of anything to look forward too besides Dune part 2 for 2024.

Well given all that it went up against. Amber Heard, End of DCEU, and horrible reviews. Aquaman 2 wasn't too bad of a flop. Especially comparing it to The Marvels. WB had a overall good close for 2023.
I like that you at least give credit and are honest that, the hunger games the ballad of songbirds and snakes is indeed making a profit. I have seen other youtube film critic shows that say it is not making money and they don't correct themselves in later youtube broadcasts. I understand the disdain possibly for the actress, which appears to want them not see this film succeed, whether they like the film or don't for whatever reason. I understand your comparison with the profit from the other hunger games, since they all come from the same writer, book, film, theme, franchise, etc. However, I don't think it is exactly the same. It would be like comparing the first films of the planet of the apes franchise from the early 1960s and 1970s, with the 2001 planet of the apes film. They were produced many years apart and the stories are different, although radically different in the 2001 film. They still decided to place the actress, linda harrison in there as one of the female slaves that the apes pushed around. I believe even charlton heston was in there in ape make up playing the father of one of the evil apes also. Just to lure in the original fanbase and keep the new fans content as well. However, in the new hunger games, as far as I'm aware, the actresses and actors are all different. They are not depending on the original cast to bring in the earlier fan base. Although they did pack in a lot of current famous and well known actresses and actors for this film. They did use some references for the fans of the earlier films also. I think they did use the voice of coryo at the end, which came directly from the earlier films. Still that is an accomplishment that they made a respectable profit, without obviously placing someone from the past hunger games in there, as a flashback scene or whatever. Regardless of some references they use in songs and words that they link to the original hunger games obviously. To have no one from the original cast portraying other characters or in a flashback or whatever, as far as I'm aware, and still come out with a respectable profit, is quite an achievement in the film industry of today. Whether you enjoyed the film or didn't, it is an accomplishment. It is not honest that online critics don't at least acknowledge they did make a profit, even if it was a lot smaller than what they had hoped for.
I prefer NCAA wrestling.
I did enjoy Iron Claw, it's a sad movie but Zac Efron is amazing in it.

Ferrari looks boring. My husband loves that kind of thing but even he's not keen. If I'm watching Adam Driver I want sexy Adam driver. That is all.
