      I recommend seeing Luca with Young Thor-I feel it is a good message free movie, like an Italian Little Mermaid but with boys. Also watch LA Luna-short by the same director.

      It'll have a good opening weekend but then tank the next weekend when parents realize that their kids (ages 5-10 that used to be the prime demographic for Pixar movies) aren't interested in puberty/emotions and the pre teens that are the target audience for this movie think Disney sucks because when I turned 12, I thought the same way.

      @vincenthoule5643 that's such a minimalistic and ignorant way of looking at it. Elemental made 496M Worldwide last year. This is Inside Out 2. Maybe it won't make the 840M of the 1st...but it could do big numbers still.

    Wouldn't it be nice if Inside Out 2 was woke free and just a good sequel to a great First film? I would like that, Bing Bong is my favorite Pixar character. I would give it high marks if he comes back.

    Yeah Disney is definitely paving the way for those “CRUSHED EXPECTATIONS” headlines lol.
    That being said, If the movie REALLY overperforms, like $120-130m opening weekend and a $400-450m+ domestic final, $1 billion honestly might be on the table if it has the same DOM/INT split as the first. I’m sure Disney would be ecstatic for a movie that isn’t a complete PR disaster, especially considering Pixar has been suffering for the last couple years.

  • @victorfontaine5552
    @victorfontaine5552 Před 26 dny

    The reviews I’m seeing for Inside Out 2 is Disney took the safe route. Reeled back on any gender stuff and left out any of the PMS or libido or sexual attraction from the story. Went back to family friendly. Although, it is just a retread of the first one. In this case; the decrease in ticket sales versus the first one is more some people being priced out of buying movie tickets for the family.

    • @haydengarinduchesne9269

      Luca , soul and turning red were excellent I thought unfortunately the movies they decided to release theatrically were very mid ticket sales seemed to reflect that although plenty of garbage makes money so. Heard this went north of 60 million on Friday so it looks like we are looking at around 140m low end

      As a fellow parent I understand where you're coming from. If my daughter asked me to watch this, I would use it as an opportunity to explain my reasons (in age-appropriate terms) for not wanting to support a company like Disney and the people behind the movies they've been making of late. It might feel uncomfortable to have that conversation, but it allows them to understand your point of view which will likely reinforce their trust in you. On the flip side, if the movie has good word of mouth and turns out to be good, your kids will eventually find out, which could erode their trust in you later down the road. You might redirect them by offering an alternative film to watch that you approve of to help offset some of their disappointment.

    I will disagree one thing that ALL of Disney’s films last year failed when Guardians 3 was the one that did survive to make money. Now as for Inside Out 2, I would say that as long as the WOM remains positive and that they keep the film in theaters for 100 days, it will likely make money. I get the whole inflation argument but some films even if they were sequels still managed to make profit whether it be reputation, years since the last movie, or even COVID. I think Inside Out 2 will definitely be one of Disney’s more profitable movies next to Deadpool (Apes is still on the table and Romulus I want to do well). Not to mention I haven’t heard anything woke about the movie and that was my biggest fear was making Riley trans or something stupid.

    It does however, mean there are a heafty number of people who are fine with paying the higher prices to go see THIS movie, which teaches people a terrible lesson and is the death of Pixar. They have not made a good film since ONward, yet people STILL pay to see their garbage in theaters, kinlcuding something that is a sequel to a beloved film, but made int he bad Disney era.
