You can't be half in and half out at the same time. Something I’ve been noticing and your panel touched on this at the end: it appears they intentionally market now to make it look like their could be woke characters or themes even when there actually isn’t, or when it’s super vague. Is this bait and switch with the woke fans? Or is it to enrage non-woke fans and get them talking about things in some weird attempt to then say they’re overreacting?

    • @talithakoum3922
      @talithakoum3922 Před měsícem +10

      I noticed that way back with the unnecessary Frozen sequel: they let the Tumblr goblins think that one of the new female characters would be a love interest for Elsa, when it turned out that one was some girl she befriended and the other was her mom in a flashback. We know Disney loves shovelling woke themes wherever they can fit them, but they also want to sell their theatrical movies on the international market. So they let the lunatic US fanbase think they're getting "representation" (said in Gary from Nerdrotic's French accent) without actually doing it. I would like to imagine that there's still someone there standing up for the femininity of these characters at this point - a girl can easily be a tomboy like Riley or an introvert like Elsa without being gay, as everyone understood until five minutes ago. But anyone sane left in the Disney writers' rooms probably stays very quiet.

    • @CrimsonArcturus
      @CrimsonArcturus Před měsícem +2

      @talithakoum3922 You've got it quite backwards actually. Disney has always recognized that not all characters need to be LGBT, but they exist whether you like it or not. LGBT doesn't always need representation, but it sure is entertaining to watch the the bigots like yourself get pressed over the idea of it.

    This movies premise is so much more intricate than you make it out to be. Joy drives Rileys emotions in the first movie, and when she tries to take control of Riley and prevent sadness from having any part, Riley becomes depressed.
    In the 2nd movie, it shows how your teenage years have additional emotions like anxiety, embarrassment, and boredom. And how anxiety can try to take control and drive you instead of the other emotions. Joy even reflects back on how she acted similarly to anxiety.

    I’m convinced that Inside Out 2 WAS going to be an extremely wokey movie, but the failures of Lightyear and Elemental convinced Pixar they needed to dial it back (alternatively, there might’ve been a glimmer of truth in Iger’s words about “turning down the noise” and he told the studio who got Disney into the HB 1557 mess in the first place to knock it off). Yo yo, commentator regarding Inside Out 2. I'll tell you a small secret. The ending was perfect and I'll enlighten you why was that. There are 2 kinds of people:
    1) Able to perform introspection - AKA Smart people, that can identify their mistakes, learn from them, evolve and become better people.
    2) Not able to perform introspection - AKA Dumb people, those that consider themselves perfectly, cannot evolve because they are already perfect. Could not retain any mistake they do because their brain eliminates those mistakes.
    The ending showed us that Riley is capable of accepting herself with all her mistakes and qualities while striving to do better. That's a beautiful ending.
    There is no such people with only happy, positive, because we are not only happy and positive. The fact you fail to accept this ending as the best makes me believe that you are a person in the 2) category. Those people while limited, can also achieve happiness. Ignorance is bliss right? They're not out of the woods just yet, but I think it's a process. And despite of their stocks that we see right now, Disney is not collapsing. The only two studios that are collapsing right now is Paramount and to my sadness, Warner Bros. So if we just give Disney some time to correct themselves, Disney will be whole Disney again. As for the Tiana's Bayou Adventure, I think it's cute and cuddly ride. Yes there are some problems right now, unless if WDWPro is sabotaging it. I'm looking at you, Pro! Typical Disney stuff with Riley’s 2 buddies being minorities and every player on her hockey team is Muslim, Asian, Indian, Hispanic and “miscellaneous”. To top it off the coach is African American! Here in Minnesota there is a ton of youth hockey and while there are increasing amounts of minorities sprinkled in leagues, the kind of diversity shown in the movie beggars belief. They really went overboard with the box checking. My daughter liked it in general but I was bored…there were zero audience reactions throughout the movie I noticed…if it weren’t a sequel it would not be well liked.

    I will find it so supremely ironic if Inside Out 2 does well because it was not even something Disney really came up with in the first place, and I’m hoping, really hoping, there was as much oversight on this one as the first one.
    Not many people know I don’t think, but the story and the concepts are not something Disney came up with on their own. It was in large part from my own understanding, come up with by the people who came up with the model of therapy known as Internal Family Systems, which is simply the idea that who a person is is made up of different parts and how those parts can interact with each other to help or to hinder and damage each other. It’s a movie that basically gives a concrete storyline to illustrate how the model works and what it looks like, and it’s impact on people. I’m really hoping they stuck with it in Inside Out 2 as well!! If they did, I would bet that is exactly why there isn’t the agenda narratives they’ve been pushing, because it would detract from the true meaning behind the movie, and actually ruin what the.. creators? Inventors?.. of Internal Family Systems we’re trying to get across. Frankly, it’s the only way I’d feel okay going to see this movie is if they still had a big part in it.

    For the Riley's same sex crush question, in the film maybe it was left more ambiguous, but in the trailer it was clear that the idea was that Riley was into Val romantically. And since that was in the marketing, it's clear that was Pixar's original intent, which is why Val is visually coded as non hetero. Can you really imagine Val being into men? She looks like she was design to attract other girls, Riley being one of those girls.
    Nothing against it, just not my thing. And after seeing the last Ghostbusters film, I'm kind of done with the ambiguous sexuality stories, as they tend to have specific political points that I disagree with.

I had no issues with the first one, but I have some concerns with Disney dealing with such a complex idea and giving a lot of younger minds the wrong impressions with oversimplification of how real emotions are properly handled especially when going through puberty. I think this is going to send the wrong message about psychology and emotions to the most impressionable.

    The theme of the movie isn't about moral relativism, but rather about emotions getting more complex as you grow older. Riley isn't just "a nice person" anymore. As we grow older, our thoughts and feelings get more sophisticated and complex. And it isn't about morality. It is about the fact that Riley can't be defined solely by what she once was beforehand. She grew more multi-faceted, and so did her sense of self. This happens regardless of one's morality: good people or bad, we all are born with very raw emotions, which grow more sophisticated as we grow older. This is also kind of the point of the first movie's ending: that little multi-colored core memory created when Riley came back home after trying to run away symbolizes maturity, since bittersweetness is a lot more nuanced than anything she had ever felt before.

    I was skeptical going in, and I consider myself to be quite conservative.
    To my surprise, I found no political preaching, and a funny film with a good message.
    I’d have no issues showing my children this,

    It's funny that the diversity uber alles crowd puts so much importance on minor external differences, but steadfastly maintains that we are all the same inside. That's partly why they hate meritocracy, and want everyone to be able to use the Force; one of the tenets of their belief system is that we are all the same inside. The most harmful part of this belief system is accepting or normalizing bad behaviors by saying that everyone does these things. No. Some of us are good people.

    October 2025, my family and I will be visiting from Maine to celebrate Samhain (Halloween). For the first time in the over 10 times we've been to Orlando, we will not be visiting any of the DEI-sney parks. We will instead be going to a Universal resort, Universal Studios, and Epic Universe. For me, I'm most excited for Dark Universe and Isle of Berk, although all of the lands look amazing.

    I don't have any antipathy towards Pixar. If inside out 2 helps pixar to survive, then good for them. I'd rather have Disney invests in Pixar than in Lucasfilm or Marvel.
    But I feel kinda bad for the people that got layed off before the release of this movie.

    The duration of the video is 20 minutes, featuring a panel of three individuals. However, the majority of the video consisted of one person speaking, raising the question: What's the point of having a panel if you're going to do all of the talking?
    The essence of a panel discussion lies in the diverse contributions of multiple individuals. Engaging in dialogue dominated by a single speaker raises questions about the intended purpose and value of a panel format.

    Internal thoughts to oneself (“I’m a good person” or “I’m good for nothing”) may have no bearing at all on how a person behaves from a moral point of view, whether he is reliable. Good people can doubt themselves. Bad people can think they are right. The point is that a person has different states when he thinks about himself in different ways, and this is normal.
