Disappointed that you completely skipped over American Fiction. You saw it, it deserves promotion for exceptional writing and directing.
Because it’s not doing anything box office wise. I only really cover top 10 or films that have been in the top 10. Their release for that film has been awful
You didn't talk about Disney's latest desperate attempt: the re-release of Pixar's "Soul", which played in 1350 theatres for a few dozen people
there's no need. It's really not doing anything at the BO.
There was no point. It was guaranteed to not do well
Ironic how Trolls Band Together played on less than half the screens as Soul and still made more.
I saw that on the Numbers and kinda laughed. But, I bet there are some theaters needing some variety. I actually liked the movie. But why would you pay $10/seat to go see *that* movie in the theater.
Mean Girls is a musical version of the original, which was made into a Broadway musical. Much like Hairspray back in the day: movie, Broadway musical then film of the musical. It was better than I thought...if you like musicals. The trailers really did not convey this oddly.
I went and saw Memory and The Beekeeper this weekend. Memory had an interesting premise and Jessica Chastain and Peter Sarsgaard I thought had good performances but the narrative didn't click with me and thought some of the cinematography was middling. I really enjoyed The Beekeeper. It's a fun Jason Statham action film. Yeah it has some faults that one could nitpick but I didn't mind cause I just went into it for the action and it delivered for me
Also one thing to remember with Mean Girls is that initially it was supposed to be a streaming film released exclusively on Paramount+ but Paramount decided to give it a theatrical release so they must've thought it was good enough for that
It's officially confirmed now that Godzilla Minus One has now grossed 100 million dollars worldwide! And not only that, there will be a re-release of the movie called Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color, which is a black and white version of the film!
The Beekeeper is worth it 👍
wonka's legs are kinda insane
I loved Jason Statham in a lot of earlier works like Snatch, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, Transporter etc. But I feel he's just a one-trick pony who's gotten a little dull.
I don’t get your issue with Mean Girls. It’s not meant to be a remake or a reimaging. It’s a version of the stage show which is a musical which the original wasn’t in the same way Hairspray was. Musicals are not a huge draw so I think the first week is impressive.
Hearing Beekeeper had a 36M budget. I went and saw it. Definitely a solid action flick. I enjoyed taking my boys to see it. But, honestly, $10/seat for tickets (matinee only for me these days) and about $10/person for popcorn/drinks... a decent action flick is the minimum for my family to go out to the movie. $80 for the 4 of us. I really wish those prices would cool off a bit at the refreshment stand... but I get it.
My movie at 2pm on a Saturday was almost completely full though. Beekeeper should be profitable if this holds up I bet.
You gotta get your movie points man to get that free popcorn and drinks
@@KamiAnimeS1 They started a refillable option at Regal. May have to take that up. Honestly, just haven't been enough out there for me to want to push the money in on something like that.
Soul made less money this weekend than Migration, Trolls Band Together, and The Boy and the Heron. And it was the best of the three Pixar movies they are going to release to theaters.
There was no point. It was guaranteed to not do well
@@OMBReviews Should have been released in cinemas to begin with, or at least have the releases held off like Top Gun - Maverick. Did enjoy Soul a lot.
@@bosskbountyIt was the last Pixar film to actually have a soul.. ironically lol 😂
@@TwistedReality13 Yeah, agree with that. Was like an early Pixar film. Still think they sold out a little when they made Toy Story 2. A fine film, but never been a fan of their sequels over their original stories. Certainly a sad day when they were bought out by Disney.
I forgot about Mean Girls, if it isn't woke I hope it does well.
The only thing "Woke" about it is some of the humour being toned down for "Modern Audiences". But other than that it's a musical that I've heard is good but nowhere near as good as the 2004 movie.
Mean Girls was actually really good
Beekeeper was alright movie. Its movie where you just turned your brain off while Jason Statham dose his magic (Also my Dad loves Jason Statham that why I went to see it with him). I didn't bother going to see Mean Girls, its a remake that wasn't needed. Meanwhile Godzilla Minus One is on its way out leaving the theater by Jan 18th but not without leaving some damage to BO. It crossed 50M dollars Domestic and it appears that it had crossed 100M WW making a milestone for Toho!
Wish the Beekeeper was doing better. It wasn't great by any means, but still a fun movie.
I thought it was a movie about bees. It is as badly named as Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre.
Im surprised the zombies are still watching Aquaman 2..... Granted it will still flop (regardless of how the medias try to get us to believe otherwise, 400 million to break even? Yeah right 🙄😂) I figured people would have enough respect for themselves in Johnny Depp to not see it because of Amber Heard. Sad really.
I have to pass on the raven awards this year. There weren't any movies that got me out of the house, or that I even cared about seeing.... 2023 was sad
Please chart Soul.
There was no point. It was guaranteed to not do well
Where's the link for the 2024 Raven Awards?

Must be a slow weekend if a crappy musical wins out.
It was actually really great 😂
@@wa-bu3ke Somehpw I doubt that.
@@CryWolf-sm9iw Only one of us has seen it 😏
@@wa-bu3ke true but did Mean Girls need a remake to begin with let alone a musical one at that with girls that look way too old to still be in high school?
@@CryWolf-sm9iw well the musical aspect made it new. And they had to cast older actresses since it’s extremely sexualized 🫠 that Halloween dance especially is peak cinema
Man the box office is really going to be kinda barren until Dune Part 2 comes out
The first Dune didn't exactly set the world on fire. It did about what Aquaman 2 is doing.
@Hedgehobbit considering the movie came out in theaters and streaming at the same time. It still made 402 milion worldwide. Not anything mindblowing in terms of numbers, but most were expecting it to do worse based on Villeneuve previous movies at the box office.
Part 2 is a theatrical exclusive movie so its going to most likely outgross Part 1.
Dune was not a big box office film and the sequel isn’t likely to be either
That's why Odin keep saying that "January is month where movies come to die"
@@lukezilla4621The next "Big" movies before Dune 2 are Argylle, Madame Web and Bob Marley One Love.
