FF7 Rebirth deserves Game of the Year!
GAME OF THE YEAR
Cloud didn't get the white materia from Zack's universe. It was a different universe, since it had a different dog. But yeah.
It's not really a multiverse though. All the separate "branching paths" stem from the same lifestream.
It is still all intent's and purposes a Multiverse within the understanding of string theory, the branches that split from Prime Planet result in other continuities, they are just not separated by reality, rather the lifestream
@@HMKthe Cosmo Canyon NPC + Aerith's dialogue tell ls us that it's not a multiverse. There aren't multiple Aeriths like there are multiple Lokis. They're dream worlds made from the memories and lingering emotions of the dead, and the Lifestream does not distinguish between reality and fantasy. The FF7 writers based the Lifestream in Jung's collective unconscious, while Rebirth also takes cues from FF10'S Far Plane. When you are exposed to mako you "peer through the looking glass" of the collective unconsciousness and see the jumbled mess of memories and dreams of the dead.
The Ultimania states that the Johnny clones interacting and merging is supposed to be a visual example of how the Reunion of Worlds works. These clones are 1 person split between multiple bodies, and when they merge he becomes 1 conscious again with all of his memories in tact. If these Lifestream worlds don't distinguish between reality and fantasy, and Cloud's "dream" was to save Aerith, he created a temporary world where she lives and that fantasy world merged with his lived reality. I think Aerith is, at best, a Lifestream ghost that can linger easily in this weird merged dream world, but as Sephiroth stated, all of these worlds are doomed to die. Cloud is in denial about Aerith's death, and this dream world fading + the Lifestream sequence are gonna be what convinces him to accept her death and let her go
The only three minigames I truly despised was Fort Condor, 3D Brawler and the sit ups.
Other than that the minigames are fire.
Game of the year on God
I'm about to through out a wild prediction of mine(more of a hope).
I genuinely think it'd be really cool, and make complete sense if Cissnei becomes a party member in Part 3.
Her role in Rebirth wasn't anywhere as big as I was hoping it would be, and while I still appreciate what we got with her, I just think there's so much more that she could do.
If we don't get Cissnei as a Party member we'll only be up by 1(since we are confirmed gaining 2, but we lost 1), while we were up by 3 in Rebirth.
Too many Party Members could become an issue due to the player not being able to give them all the attention they deserve(unless they go out of their way), but I'm sure Square could find a way(probably by having a few more Leader Swap sections, which I assume we'll get anyways because that's how the last push of OG was).
If we don't get Cissnei as a part of the main party I hope that Zack makes his way into the Remake Timeline earlier than Meteor so that he can team up with Cissnei for a decent chunk of time(or Cissnei somehow ends up with Zack).
IDK, I just want more Cissnei and Zack.
(This is what i think that will come when Part3-FF7R starts... with this 3 minimum scenarios)
AVALANCHE UNIVERSE [REAL]:

All I want for part 3 is for my boy Zack to be happy. I just want him to meet Cissnei and have that fateful reunion. I really do not want him to be killed again.
I tell you who Jebova is. She is SIN from FF10....the theories and rumors of ff7 and ff10 resolved! (Dont take this seriously) lol
**This is about to sound extremely negative, but please note that Rebirth is no lower than a 9/10 for me**
My problem with how many Mini-Games there are in Rebirth is that I feel like some of them would've been better saved for the 3rd Game.
Also, Queens Blood is pretty much a whole game itself, so it combined with all the other Mini-Games just equates to a lot of bloat.
The saving grace is that you don't have to interact with most of the Min-Games more than once to progress the story, but even if I don't plan to 100% a game I like to experience it as much as possible, and 25% of the game(an exaggeration, but probably not too far off) being Queens Blood makes me not want to bother with the Absurd amount of Stages of Chocobo Racing(even though I did complete every Race), and Arena Battles(I did not do them all, because some of the restrictions were a bit too unfun for my playstyle/taste).
My only real problems with the games story was that it didn't really diverge as much as I was hoping it would, and when it did do something new, it was at the cost of parts of the Original Game that I wanted to see with Modern Graphics(like Rocket Town).
My main example is everything to do with CID.
He isn't really the same character.
I still love him, but everything with him was completely new, which is a weird thing to nitpick when I say I wanted more deviation.
If I didn't know the the Remake Trilogy was in a different timeline from OG FFVII I'd be kinda pissed, but instead I'm just a little disappointed.
My last 2 complaints have to do with Aerith and Zack.
For how much Zack was advertised in trailers on top of him being on the Case/Cover Art, and the game opening with him, we didn't really see much of him.
I was honestly expecting Zack to play a much bigger part in the story, but he was maybe only 1% of the game, when I was expecting no less than 10%(which might have been me expecting too much, but I feel like many others had similar expectations).
Now onto Aerith...
She was genuinely great for the whole game.
My complaints about Aerith have nothing to do with her character, it all has to do with the ending.
I am not mad that she still died, and I like the addition of Force Ghost Aerith, but I really didn't like the fakeout.
Cloud "saving" her just for her to still die didn't sit right with me.
I'd much rather have Cloud fail stopping Sephiroth from stabbing her, the exact same way as in the original, or for Cloud to actually be the one to do it this time(since this version of Cloud seems a lot more messed up than his OG Counterpart).
Cutting out the scene of her body being put into the water was also a big fumble in my eyes.
Maybe part 3 will show it, but I really don't think they will.
The ending as a whole was great, but the execution wasn't my favorite.
Now I'm going to move past being critical.
I genuinely love my time with the game, and it's probably as close to a 10 as it can get.
I have my nitpicks, but it is probably still my GOTY.
The ending is trash and I agree on the Zack stuff
@@TraumvitaTrue… I was hoping Zack to have a bigger part in Rebirth since he is on the front cover.. so it was kind of a let down a bit
@@alimichalkan8046 like those cuts to Zack felt so pointless. When you replay the game they give you an option to skip them. Even square realizes they’re pointless. He’s on the boxart made me think that too. I wasn’t too thrilled he was coming back anyways but I figured hey better do neat stuff and there’s nothing lol
@@Traumvita I disagree with it being trash, it just wasn't what I was expecting based on how the story was going up to that point.
Last chapter makes the 10/10 game a 9/10
I think this game is massively overhyped it does not stand on its own in terms of story.
It’s not even a story about anything really. It’s a story about the story of the OG FFVII.
“The unknown journey will continue” then proceed to tell the same story 90% of the time but with presentation that doesn’t let scenes breathe.
The ending was focused on subversion and spectacle so much it had no emotion or real weight to it.
Agree with you. Some of the story are baffling. One of my issues is how they ate gong to to part 3 with so much stuff left. This about to be a 140 hour thing in the next game. 😞
