- Installing New Rear End Clutches For The Fox Body 8.8
This is just a quick walk through on installing some clutches on the Red Demon. She was doing the one wheel peel so it was time to replace them. I went by LMR’s instructions on the website on how to stack them. The new stack of clutches should measure .655 thousands of an inch. I know i ground a little bit of the center pen but that’s OK because the gear doesn’t ride on that part of the pen. I hope this will help some of you guys out if your doing this to your fox. And as always thanks for watching. Link below for the clutches.

@@DEMONFOX5.0 Dude need you help man . Aren't these 8.8s all the same as far as the clutch pack kit? I Ordered a M-4700-C TRACTION LOCK KIT I got the clutch pack kit stalled on the spider gears double checked the stack I am right on the money on each gear. I just got the spiders installed got them lined up for the pin / I had to go to town and get a longer needle nose pliers to hold the new tension spring compressed after I collasped it with the vice I went to go put in the spring and it is way to wide I cant even get it started to tap it in > Can you use the old spring I really dont want to any help advice been days crawling around in the dirt thanks
@@DEMONFOX5.0 I forgot to add I am working on a03 Crown vic Police I thought these 8.8s are the same internally ?

Nice video brother. Clean install.
Wes the Best thanks for checking out my channel and the subscribe.
Just what i needed . Was going to buy a whole new diff but this will fix my problem for way cheaper
Yes sir it will I’m a budget man.
I am in the process of putting my clutches back in . The new instructions state that the pack comes with a 0.30 shim goes first and it is not necessary to measure the shim the old clutch pack. My needle nose pliers are not long enough to go across the whole spring when I collapse it in the vice it is just long enough to collapse on side and the spring wont fit in the carrier with the new pack installed. I have to go to town and get a longer needle nose vice grip. I got one of those performance finned aluminum covers I have to go get longer bolts for the cover. PS just got my own channel launched about a month ago just got one video so far wish me luck ! Thanks
Good luck with your channel CZcams is hard work harder than people think lol.
@@DEMONFOX5.0 Thank you so much in the process of training for a new business but I gotta keep this going . My next project I am going to restore two Snap on cordless ratchets one is a 1/4 drive the other is 3/8s I ordered all new cases from Snap on for them I know I wont make any money I just love to teach if I can find somebody to teach . Good luck on your channel as well dude thanks again
Thank you sir. New Sub here, just found your channel through foxbody Mike's channel.
Mr. Ed 209 thank you for your sub hope you like the videos.
@mr. Ed 209 are you from modesto?
Terrific tutorial. Running a pack thickness at the max of the factory spec, did you deal with a lot of break-in "clunks" when you first put the vehicle to use?
Thank you I appreciate that believe it or not lol she’s still a work in progress 🤦♂️ but hopefully soon we will find out.
Is it absolutely necessary to place the S spring. I heard in forums it only benefits when its extremely slippery like mud or rain. Is this true, what would happen if I leave it out. Thnks
Mines isn’t assembled or in a housing can how do i get the c clips out without axels to push inwards?
Sorry to say you have to push the axles in to get them out.
Can u tell if u need shims by rotating to gears?
Usually when you get the one wheel peel you need to add shims and I had that problem if yours hasn’t been changed then you can add some.
What gear you running?
Shane Batten it already has a Richmond 373 in it. It was already in the car that’s a good one less thing to buy. Thanks for checking out my video.
