i was once in a LS with the guy who got the fast blade 2 sword. that did some interesting numbers on omen bosses
Wow I never realized the kraken club was such a low drop rate. I stopped playing in 2012 I thought it was 1% drop not 0.1% lol. I'm glad I saved and bought it then instead of doing seals forever. Back then the rarest weapon was probably the polearm from some 18 man instance in treasures, the one in the cave. Only one had dropped at that point on our server before 2012 of course when the content was relevant, and my ls leader stole it and changed server. Earlier than that Excalibur was very rare, my friend Wopa on my server Pandy was only one that had one for awhile. But he was a piggy he had most relics across all servers or second most.
love me some old FFXI drama lol. So they BCNM has the low rate, the NM that used to drop it was a much better chance(but it had that terrible respawn timer).

I never knew anyone personally that got it from the BCNM. But I did have a friend that got the drop from the NM. lmao I think he was younger because he was always bothering me to be his gf and do stuff with him. He was even trying to bribe me saying you can use my kclub. That is only reason I remember because he must have been immature to let someone else use a kclub given how bad people stealing stuff was on that game. This all thinking I was a girl with the server name "Granny" rofl I didn't have the heart to tell him at that point.
This wasn't a rare occurrence either. Gross hey? I found it comical and ended up going with it a lot of the time and my close friends would always be killing themself laughing hearing it in group chat. Though could have been people kissing up when they want something from someone with good gear and friends that did a lot of the endgame stuff. When pandy merged with asura I made sure to change my name to "GrandmasThong" to end that and it largely did. Still were some... I can see how some females online can whine about horny teenage boys tormenting them on online games after having attention with names like that haha. lmao just ridiculous.

Have been working on Exalibur for a while since I returned..have always wanted it! About halfway through Adoulin and half way to my dynamis sword...should have it in a year or so haha

@@Ryan-kg7hu If you returned and had some gil on hand (about 50m) then you can make one within a 24hr period. Another....10m maybe? And there's your ilvl 119 weapon Excalibur. It's really underrated but, it can be better if they did something with Aegis and its block rate...

I think a lot of people pick up the katana. At least that's what I see most often. But it's still one of the most rarest weapons in ffxi.

Not to mention that getting the beastman seals was much harder in the older days. As a bst main for year's I had significantly more than others yet I went 0/100+ on the bcnm

If you count all the possible block rate+ gear, you can make Aegis block a decent amount, if not full 100% of the time, and never really take any damage anymore...
yeah not only block rate+, ML granting shield skill and more pieces having shield skill
@@CallMekwech Yeah, I made another set of Souv+1 to get that 15 skill. Got the torque from Alexander fight for it too. I want to see where I can bring this to on my pld. Even if it's not 100%, the added 30 Regen from KoR will definitely help make up for it.

no you can still get it. its just most people dont want to bother going for relic weapons as its still a BIG pain when you can get other better weapons faster. I just tried to unlock a katana. 1st 2 upgrades took over 2 months still. and you need Hi treasure hunter gear to get drops in dreamworld faster as NMs drop rate is lower now, its like 5%. and even with Hi TH its not much hier.
the very original Excal had to be fished up, and only in japan, and was removed from the game.
I should just go make Excalibur while I'm at it just make all the sword remas.

Excalibur is rare? I got one within 2 weeks of coming back in august
Specifically there was an Excalibur you could fish up, there's a video about this with far more views out there that explains it better than me

Ya I was in shock lol I checked up to see if a friend still plays other day it's like 500 mil on asura. When I left in 2012 I bought/sold mine for 300 mil before selling my account. It was so much fun to use, especially in Abysea at the time. It would just destroy everything with that abysea katana and subtle blow. I remember with bst solo/duo in dynamis with pets it was really fun to use too with the enmity swap.
Seen a Pandits Staff on Asura once afk in mhaura.

Some food for thought. Compared to Mythic swords, Almace, Naegling, and the Aeonic, Excalibur is a trash weapon with very niche use. It's like the time and resources you waste to get it aren't worth the end reward due to how better the alternatives are.
That may be now but in 2006 Excal was a beast and turned your rdm/pld into a do it all.
Maybe it is rare, forgot I had one lol........Funny thing, I never even used it.......It is still 75 along with others.
I always thought The BST emp axe was rare.
Or maybe the melee mage weapons, save Nirvana.
