    What you said about MDT and MDTII is wrong. MDT and MDTII stack additively. So Aegis max is 87.5% (hard cap) and Duban 75%.

      I was about to say that too... good thing I scrolled through the comments before I posted. Wished they gave Caliburnus a -DT II to compete with Burtgang, which I know is -PDT II (up to -68% PDT), but would finally have something to push -BDT beyond the 50%.

    10% DA for SAM is bad. It blocks Hassozanshin procs. It has amazing potential for solo 4step light tho. 3x Mumei + Fudo, or with WS Wall Mumei > Koki/Gekko > Mumei > Fudo

      Both are still used at endgame in retail. Though *technically* this current line of weapons includes a better shield than Aegis, you'd be months away from even starting one.

    I haven't played FF11 in years so this is very interesting to take a look at where they are these days.
    It's wild for me to remember, as a MNK, that the level 75 Spharai's +23 DMG was godlike at the time, and now you're showing a weapon with +213 DMG, lol.

    Me being a whm, I like the club, but also I feel this adds to the more-clubs-than-arms situation.

I want to believe with the higher base damage that either the WS will be good or it will still be able to put out desirable Torcleaver damage. I have Ragnarok, Epeolatry, and Lionheart at the moment. Maybe I'll have to make Caladbolg just to say I'm the GSD man.

    Im like 99.99999999% sure Primes wont have any R15 or augments. At least not in plans for any foreseeable future. Katana has lower base damage than R15 Heishi but with lower Delay, so it still has higher "weapon base DPS".
    What those weapon could have though is some kind of hidden effect like relics chance to x2/2.5/3 damage on first swing of the round and/or also WS might have innate attack bonus to go well with PDL aftermath and ranged WS could also have fixed enmity like relics.

    DPS of 90% of those weapons is based on PDL aftermath potency and new WS damage. You can't say any of those are falling behind current options without knowing WS damage and PDL potency or potentially hidden effect too.
    You can't generally say much about damage potential not knowing those factors. You can only tell few things based on description.
    Like for example:
    - Dagger WS looks bad in theory. 4hit means you will need to focus on multi attack instead of Nyame and TP damage scaling means that you would want TP bonus from Centovente, but Centovente is bad for multihit, especially with fTP replication
    - Katana WS has the same exactly problem as Dagger WS
    - Axe WS is similar, but at least here you have Ikenga's Axe, which offers 500 TP bonus and amazing base stats as offhand
    - All of the above might not be true if those WSs are not fTP replication, but more like Upheaval, where only first hit fTP scales with TP.
    - All WSs scale with TP, which is both good and bad. Good, because it might had high ceiling, but bad, because it might have low floor. Historically WSs like that are easier to use with TP bonus offhands or jobs with native TP bonus gear/abilities. So it should be easier to reach full potential of Primes that you can dual wield with TP bonus offhand or things like gaxe/gsword used on WAR with Warcry/+3EmpyLegs/Moonshade or gkt on SAM with MpacaHead/Moonshade and massive TP overflow
    - Some of Primes has in theory better solo SC potential than other. Mainly because of strong native WS finishers with Light or Darkness properties. For example Rudra, Fudo, Victory Smite and/or strong options to mix between steps to avoid WS wall, like Howling Fist, Savage Blade, Koki, Teki, Mandalic Stab

    • @CallMekwech

      Me too. I the Lv + 3 might be something that can make some build a lot more worth it. With mpaca feet and that we'd get +4 on lv, but you'd need to have mpaca feet on at all times. I'm let down from the Neo Animator as the Animator P + 1 still just seems better stat wise with the +20 to all stats.
      I haven't played in a while and really need to catch up on the VR story line (Stuck on the taru fight in Altep) but these look like a great alternative to other REMA weapons to give PUP something to use before the SU5 for pure PUP dmg and give really good master benefits too.

    • @traviskraftphotography
      @traviskraftphotography Před rokem

      @@SageAtoreis that's if the grind for them takes that long. Which may not be the case. I haven't done sortie so I don't know how long it takes to get 10K of the currency or the item needed for the first upgrade to an incomplete form, but at the same time it doesn't look like it takes that long in terms of REMA weapons, and 65Mil will probably take you the same amount of time to raise up if you play casually. Either way I would say the prime weapon would just be easier to get as you don't need to raise the money for it.

    No one is really using Nirvana for the aftermath unless it's a pretty niche situation, imo. So the new prime weapon just deletes Nirvana. The only issue is perp cost then which has usually needed a weapon to overcome be it nirvana or another weapon.

    • @SageAtoreis
      @SageAtoreis Před rokem +1

      You should always use AM3 (prebuild tp) for Nirvana if you are using anything serious and you can use it again by making tp with tp wings. For less serious solo on SMN or like farming master levels you would definitely use AM3 too and SC with avatar.
      That being said, Prime is more convenient and definitely wins for hybrid/magic BPs with aftermath up.

      There was a period were if felt as if they were they were finally accepting nobody has the time like they used to, RoV is an example of that. But with TVR they have done a complete 360, I honestly think they have decided to give up the goat in making FFXI more approachable and have shifted their focus on providing content for the dedicated who will play no matter what. @@L1D3NB0K Seems to me they're trying to do both. Lots of more reasonable goals already existing for newer and returning players to chase, and horrific grinds for the lifers to plug away at for the next five years.
      Seeing as the only content that's really gated behind the extreme requirements is Odyssey V25 and almost everything else is accessible to more casual play, I'd say they've done about as well as they could for a game that's never truly getting new content. Hopefully Fujito can convince the suits to give the game a true overhaul but until then grind the grind or take a break.
