It was, but I doubt they will fix it now.
It's either some dev just maxing out the size not fully aware of the effects (same person who gave war empy legs fencer+4), preemptive buff to pld due to run being the preferred tank in sortie, or an apology to plds for nerfing exemplar/cp cleaving in crawler's nest [s]
That's not how software dev works lol. There are many checks (human and code) before code goes into production. Many eyes would have seen that "dev" squeak in that change.
@@jfpinero Please explain how Fencer+4 was a thing on war empy legs+3. How did "many eyes" miss the fact that it caps at +3?
@@tenkyoken Well seems the business rule of maxing out at a certain number was not well understood by many.

The next question is what will they do with the horn. Hopefully something good since emp+3 got nothing.
I can't see much they can do to make it viable other than adding a new song like the Aeonic. They wont kill the Daurdabla by making it add 2 additional songs, and anything more than +4 songs makes the Relic obsolete. What else is there to add?
Maybe they’ll add a song for mage damage buffs

I am 100% for the Prime shield being amazing even in it's ease of access state. Get more tanks out and about. I am also all for buffing ochain at least a little. I just hope they don't nerf the new shield. Probably just have to wait and see what comes of the final stage shield before any buffs (and hopefully no nerfs) come about.
honestly me too, there are so many more factors to tanking properly than blocking hits.

this is where I was at, had started Ochain on my alt but never made it passed the Iron Plate stage
What suck is that I didn’t know about the Ochain becoming obsolete. Spent all those hours and money getting it to afterglow. Finished it about a year ago.
Now im trying for Burtgang. Hopefully that is still useful

@@SageAtoreis hell yeah i buy gil, after GMs wrongfully deleted my old character I decided their rules are unjust. Ive spent thousands of dollars on gil afterwards.
Never bought gil beforehand though. Getting my shit back and then some.

My only choice was to get a new character. Shit fucking sucks. 16 year old account, gone for no fucking reason.

yeah it was really cool watching them both come into their own as PLD got it's buffs/changes in the passed two years. Considering Priwen was always only 'ok' and Srivatsa was a meme.

@@CallMekwech Listening to audiobooks I've heard it pronounced Aee'jis once, which is my favorite version, but it's just eejus which I've heard the word before but never seen written down before ffxi. So its Aee'gis as you pronounced it for me the shied anyway lol. It's the name of an item not a word, it can be pronounced however it was intended to be pronounced and we don't officially know for certain :P

Yes it does, as per the wiki:
Bash damage formula: damage = (Base + ShieldSizeBonus + JobPoints + BashGear) * Randomizer.
I dont think this is an oversight, they're about to combine aegis and ochain.

Look every shield has its purpose I’ve been a end game tank for decades this is no different
This was stage2 and my argument still stands. Stage 3 and up trump every other shield on every metric except one, Aegis still technically reduces magic damage by an extra 12.5% BUT the magic evasion and MND+35 ensure less magic damage as well.
Aegis > Magic damage / Ochain > Physical damage / Srivatsa > Lock style haha...
Srivatsa def used to be the meme, but I for sure saw it used throughout Odyssey prog.
@@CallMekwech Personally just use Aegis/Ochain for Odyssey C... Don't have any issues getting +13K segs... Like to rock the Empyrean +3 head/hands/legs with Souveran +1 body/feet... Srivantsa + Sakpata > Savage Blade... +35K Damage with Nyame R25...
