- Hey guys ! In this video, we will go over all of the job previews posted on the HorizonXI website and sort of open a discussion by giving my own interpretation on them. Feel free to discuss in the comments how YOU think these will affect the gameplay on the server and make sure to let me know which jobs changes your most excited about.

I'm very optimistic about these changes. Even if they don't successfully deliver on these changes right away, I think its clear they have very good ideas of how to improve overall balance.

I'm thinking I'll rush WAR to 75 and then NIN (I've always wanted to play NIN but don't enjoy blink tanking a ton), as well as THF for farming purposes. But I'm mostly just excited for the journey to 75 more than anything else. Huntin4Games put it best when he said it's kind of exciting to start again with nothing and have to make every gil count, I'm pumped for that aspect.

honestly super excited about Horizon it finally seems we found Devs that are honest about the blatant imbalance between jobs in era classic.
Finally jobs that arent RDM, SAM, WAR, NIN, will be useful!!!!
Yeah, when they started showing off previews I was praying to see RDM nerfs. I mean I'm a main RDM on retail and did rdm main on eden as well, but the job is just so god tier broken that to fix the games meta it really needs to be brought in line.

starting with THF then using NIN / WAR as subjobs then will unlock SAM then ill have all subs needed for it also
I respect that they are going out of their way to make the decent private server for final fantasy for all the players out there who want to go back to nostalgic days of the PC and the PlayStation to however, I don’t like the fact that they have control of what they decide on what they want to put on their classes. This is reason why I don’t like dealing with private servers because of the fact that they think they know what they give us and what they want for us, but the fact is remains, they have control of deciding what is balance, and what is not balance this means that they are focusing on nursing classes of their liking or dislikes that’s the reason why I don’t like to spend time dealing with private servers because end of the eventual controls what they make decisions on on their own behalf, and not on our behalf. I respect and they are doing everything they can to make. It is good and play it was as possible however, they still using the server files from dark stars, utilities and server utilities. This is not other than another private server like any other regardless of the fact still remains, they make decisions of what is perfect for their own needs, and not for our own. I do respect, and they make a good server, but they are in control when we’re not. Also, if you have to understand private servers for animals or any type of animals out, there can lead to problems and needs a lot of fixing one thing I need to let you guys know they never fix the other patches, along with waiting of the goddess that was one of my favorite expansion for the Xbox 360
THF gets Triple Attack at level 30.
I've always wanted to main smn and hopefully they're more party viable this time around.
I’m starting as Warrior, will take it to 30 and then decide if I want to take it to 75, or use as sub for NIN, MNK, SAM, RNG or BST lol
As a mythic bst from retail, the bst part brings much joy!!! lol
For WHM they should double the healing instead of nerffing RDM.
Leaning Ranger... I always found it fun even if I didn't do much endgame with it.
I'm goin pally main, I heard a rumor that PLD holy damage spells is going to be improved significantly, but can't confirm this
im still debating between DRG, PLD and SMN first my first 75
@@zarbrawl i have to keep myself away from drg. since it was my main from unlock until current retail. lucky there are alot of jobs to try out. but first going to be trying war
@@Garzyan See ive always wanted to try out DRG, I was a SAM main. The changes they made to DRG seems to be mostly towards endgame which was their weakness, so Im excited to give it a try.
@@zarbrawl Yeah I have a friend who normally runs SAM just because he wants good damage, but the changes have encouraged him to pick up RDM and DRG this time around. Working as intended!
Seems nin got nerfed more as a main than a sub. Increasing the ichi cool down timer just hampers a nin mains tanking ability more than the occasion shadow that gets ripped when a tank loses hate and hits a /nin.. By end game when a lot of stuff is dual tanked or kited it likely won't much difference tho.
still pondering over RDM or SMN tbh.... but lets see if I can get past the ui first, thats what prevented me from ever trying ffxi
They may be including the three "master" tools for NIN. It would be really nice to have just one tool for the elemental wheel
oh i didnt think of that. very true but wont take maybe affect the crafting market?
@@zarbrawl yeah, it for sure would. I think Shihei would still be preferred for utsu because it's used so much, but everything else... I'm not sure it's the best way to go but it is an option.
u gonna do a fishing guide for ffxi for horizon? lot of new players are trying to figure out the best route from nothing to something, if you have an idea, it might help players and bring attention to the type of content you push out.
I plan on it, the issue is time sadly, im slow XD I work full time and overall I just wont be able to make a guide early enough as im far from a speedrunner :/ but i do plan on a bunch of guides content !

Another change thats possible for NIN for making tools easier to obtain is to sell them for cheap at a NPC
that would fk over the crafters.
@@dontariuslawrence8174 ya true I didn't think that far. Maybe a tweak to material drop rates could flood the market and keep the cost lower while still giving crafters the opportunity.

I'm taking DRK's changes as not meaning Drain and Aspir being buffed as DRK currently uses those a lot. I think they literally only mean Absorb-* spells such as Absorb-STR or Absorb-INT. I'm really curious about BLM changes. What adjustments are being made exactly is my question. They are strong in parties, people just don't take them primarily because they steal threat so easily and can burn through mana fast. So, I would say they need to reduce spell enmity and improve MP.
fair. I did mean the absorb spells as yes drain and aspir and def very used by the job. Im also curious on the BLM changes, guess well have to see !
@@zarbrawl - Oh, I wasn't commenting on what you said, just more on a discussion to see if anyone else agreed that Drain and Aspir will most likely be kept as-is. If anything, I would like Drain and Aspir cooldowns and MP cost reduced for DRK or maybe some neat combination of Absorb-INT -> Drain hitting hard, especially if you use it on a Mage mob. That would get me excited for playing DRK again. I really dislike DRK on Wings and dropped it after hitting 75 because I am out damaged by a DRG's pet alone... If they make DRK hit REALLY hard, I'd definitely main it. I hope they nerf arrow/bolt burns to the ground too. I did too many of those on DRK when I would rather be using my Scythe. I do like that they are making weapon adjustments to let the player decide what weapon to use. I don't like when I have to use GS or GA when I would rather be using Scythe. I'm looking forward to the patch notes to see what exactly is changing for all jobs before I commit to a job for sure.
I always wanted to be a Counter Tank Monk.
If they made it so Monks could tank I might go back.
It keeps on crashing when it's downloading the game it gets to like 45% then logs out can someone help me
did u get it to work? I didnt have any issues downloading, but id check the discord for server for help
Going to bet that THF will get dual wield without ninja sub being required
yeah thats a good bet and honestly would be a very nice addition to THF
Thief didn't get the dual wield trait until 83, I don't see this happening at all.
@@dragumkirisute1998 i think it will, they mentioned going away from everyone subbing ninja.

NIN not being treated as a tank is frankly bizarre. 2 months later it seems the devs realized what a missque that was. They added Yonin.
PLD is absolutely amazing with all the adjustments it got to shields.
RDM is completely borked. SMN is the better refresh user.
My PC is such a piece of crap I couldn't install the launcher 😭

It'll be necessary to make the game work as intended, RDM was super OP forever in retail because the dev team didn't know how balancing an online game worked. You can't have one class that can do everything.
@@ChaseFace Yeah i sort of agree but I had a feeling this would alienate some RDM mains. When your used to your job to be able to perform to a certain level it sucks to have it nerfed. I guess we will see, the tweaks could be very minor and devs did say theyd keep an eye on performance and feedback
RDM was easily the most powerful job in the game. The nerf was necessary if they are to shake up the meta.
The problem is nerfing nin support at the same time,
I hope this doesn't kill rdm/nin's solo ability.
@@linklindlink yeah the nin support nerf will be... interesting. Thief only has NIN as a vialble sub before dancer, so im curious if maybe they will give thief dial wield to compensate for the nerf and open more sub job combos? guess well see!
