  • This video explores one of the lesser known regions of the North Pennines, a hike around an area of Bollihope Burn. We start at the Car park at Washpool Crags, before heading towards the summit of Snowhope Hill. Along the way we encounter 3 surprising waterfalls before attempting to reach the summit of Snowhope Hill. The weather takes a turn for the worst as we get close to the summit, will we reach it and two further summits in time?...
    Total Distance :- 8.2 miles (13.2km)
    Summits achieved :-
    Snowhope Hill :- 610m (2001ft)
    Bollihope Carrs :- 544m (1784ft)
    Catterick :- 426m (1398ft)

Great video as always Duncan. Amazing how a bit of altitude can completely change the weather conditions. Look forward to your next adventure.

Thanks, as you know it's surprising the difference in a few hundred metres can bring, still thoroughly enjoyed it though and hopefully my next adventure will be just as fun (with a little less wind...)

my brother and i hiked that trail 6 years ago the snow was 3ft deep at the top and we lost sight of each other,i sat for 20 min but still couldnt see my brother.i new he would know his way back to the car but when i got about 1 mile down and far clearer i looked back up and there he was coming out of the low cloud about a mile and a half up the trail so i decided to sit on a rock and wait for him,the temp was -5 that day.GREAT VIDEO DUNCAN AND THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES.

It is a lovely hike, glad that you and your brother made it as the weather can be quite severe up there, bet you felt some relief when you saw him appear out of the clouds. Glad I invoked some happy memories, thank you for watching 😊

It was indeed, lulled into a false sense of security to begin with but felt it on the tops! Still loved it though😊

Hi. How long did this take? I've been looking at doing these summits but most of my hiking apps are coming back with ludicrous time scales

Hi, I am sure the whole circular route took us about 8 hours, including videoing stops and a lunch break, the descent was quite rapid and on good ground.
