The North Pennines - Camping on Knapside Hill

- My return to The North Pennines after a short break should have been a joyous one, instead in true North Pennines style it decided to reward me with thick mist throughout my stay on its fells. Regardless I carried on, still enjoying the solitude and quiet that this area offers in abundance, and the different terrain that is found in this area.
For me there's nothing better than a long walk in the pouring rain. Slowly getting through the weather to where you want to go, wrapped up wqrm and listening to the rain on the trees. Its so calming and blissful.

Thank you it is good to be back to be honest, hopefully the weather will continue to improve so I can return more regularly to a lovely area 😊
I always enjoy your videos, Duncan, they are so relaxed.
This one has a particular affinity as I have a static caravan down in Kirkby Thore, so know Fiends Fell and Hartside area very well. They view of the Lakes from the trig, I would argue until the cows come home, is one of the best anywhere.
I have wildcamped in one of the butts a little down from Hartside, and it was a great spot. If ya ever need a companion on a wild camp in the North Pennines area, then I'm happy to tag along 😊😊🤣🤣
Thank you for your kind words, it is a lovely vantage point but obviously the weather had other ideas...Cheers for the offer of companionship whilst in the area, I may take you up on that soon 😊

It is indeed, just to escape it all and gather your thoughts etc, unsure on it's naming I will be honest, gonna have to do some research on that one 😊

I camped at langdale in the lakes on Saturday and climbed up to Great End and had the same views as you , slightly disappointing but still good to get out in nature and the therapy it gives you
Exactly that, yes it wasn't the most ideal weather for taking images but it was good to get out there away from everyday life 😊
Enjoy your videos.Going to be doing some camping this year as well, up the Cheviots probablys.The nights are still a bit long for me at the moment though.
Understandable, sunset at 5 can make for a long night under canvas, the Cheviots are a lovely area though and one I should return to soon 😊
Absolutely typical..take the camera up for the views, and mother nature gives you mist!🥾
Yep, so typical of the area, a good image is very rare on most occasions but still enjoy the experience, a good image during it is simply a nice bonus 😊
