- With the weather finally breaking I decide to hike someone I have wanted to do for a while, the hills and valleys of Upper Teesdale. I start my hike at Forest In Teesdale before heading over to Cronkley Pasture, heading upstream before meeting Falcon Clints. I then decide to head onto dangerous territory, will I achieve my goals?.. I return to Merrygill and ascend up Man Gate to to the top of Cronkley Scar, where I find some very nice examples of Spring Gentians. I return to the car whilst detouring and visiting White Force, a waterfall with an unusual look...

Wide open valleys with mountain rivers and solitude. What isn't to love. Much enjoyed as always Duncan. Cheers.
Cheers Dan, plenty of views and lovely weather, just what was needed after the terrible conditions lately, need to get out more now 😉
Another beauty. Real sense of wilderness and space
I love the space and wilderness of the North Pennines, plus the relative lack of other hikers makes it my favourite place just to get away from it all 😊
Absolute belter of a walk and video Duncan. Cronkley Scar has been on my list for a good while now. Well I know what I'm doing this weekend 🤪 😅
Thanks, it was a lovely hike, hope you enjoy it as much as I did 😊
Nice one Duncan 👍
One of my favourite places 👌
I love the area of Upper Teesdale, rugged yet not beyond my capabilities (yet), definitely has a distinctive charm of it's own 😊
Brilliant presentation my friend, you narrated this brilliantly!
Thanks, I do worry about the narration and voiceovers being too boring and its nice to know they are appreciated 😊
I enjoyed it all!
Thanks, quite enjoyed doing this one, plus nice weather is an added bonus 😊😊
I am just back home after riding past there this evening, its a bit blustery today.
Great video Duncan 👍. Have done that route before and many of the routes you do. . Did Burnhope seat and dead stones yesterday 👍. Keep up the good work. You inspire me to explore more of the north pennies
Thanks, it's been a while since I was up Burnhope Seat way, should really revisit it soon, the North Pennines are inspiring in themselves, all I do is record their beauty 😊
A very enjoyable and varied walk Duncan. I'm a river walker and enjoy the headwaters. The Tees is a mighty river wild to there. It's a fantastic upland region - better when they're not firing. Funny delicate beautiful plants and loud powerful guns side by side. Well, the rain cleared. Good going. Mark
Thanks, it is so desolate and wild in that area, it is a shame it is closed off a lot of the time but I will get there one day. The rain is part of the joys of visiting this area, it always keeps you guessing...😊
