  • This video takes place in two different locations on two different days, showing nicely the variable weather that can be found in The North Pennines. The first segment takes place at Lunedale Stone Circle, a neolithic stone circle high in the hills above Lunedale. The second segment shows my hike to visit the 'Boros' of The North Pennines, Goldsborough and Shacklesborough on the outskirts of Baldersdale.
    Total Distance :- 7.97 miles (12.83km)
    Summits achieved :-
    Goldsborough 1276ft (389m)
    Shacklesborough 1490ft (454m)

You say niche I say BRILLIANT channel. It's good to get out of the Lakes and Dales the North Pennines is the perfect place and you are one of so few doing it, many thanks for you videos you have taught me so much about Englands last great wilderness.

Thanks, it is an area that hasn't benefitted from the promotions of The National Park systems, which is both a shame and a bonus as it still remains a relative wilderness where you can hike for miles and not see another person. It is a vast area, with each valley and mountain being different, love it there.

A great video as always Duncan. Glad you've made a good recovery from the bug. You're doing a great job promoting the area and it's what made me visit. Keep up the cracking job.

Nice to see my "home territory" from someone else's perspective. I think Goldsborough is my most photographed subject.

Baldersdale and Cotherstone Moor are lovely areas to visit, I really enjoy the wide expansive panoramas from Goldsborough/Shacklesborough, I can understand why it is your most photographed area 😊

Thanks, the Moor is lovely, wide and expansive and it's a shame I never included areas like Catty Crag Quarry but the footage never did it justice. 😊
