My cousin graduated college this year and has over 50k in student loan debt. That's when I realized that college might not be my best option when all I really want to do is explore the world. I don't want to be paying off student loans for 20 years and I think this planet is too big and too extraordinary to stay in one place. Right now, I'm 17 and a junior in high school, but I'm determined to find a way to travel once I graduate. Blogging and doing travel photography would be my dream, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to just get out there haha

Hannah Monks oh my god I'm exactly the same!!! I'd rather be homeless traveling than millionair stuck in a house.. and I'm not going to college.. if my dad knew this he would kill me.. that's why I'm running away to travel the world ;) and I'm 17 as well

Gina N. The way I see it, a college degree is not necessary for anything I want to do in life. Not all jobs require a degree anyway. And please don't make assumptions about me, my parents, or my life in general. I'll have you know my parents support me 100% in whatever I choose to do in life. And thing is, this is my life. Not my parents', not strangers' on the internet, mine. Thanks for sharing your opinion though. I just don't see things the same way as you do, and that's okay. :)

watvid1 You're not supposed to do something you like, you're supposed to do the right thing. Nobody likes harvesting potatoes, cleaning public toilets or looking at strangers' hemorrhoids, but this is the kind of work people have to do to survive and to live in dignity. If enough people started traveling and making CZcams videos the economy would collapse.

A couple things that were left out was to become a house sitter, a few websites offer this and you can get paid to take care of pets and a home in every country, sometimes even mansions. Another is called work away and you travel the world volunteering 4-5 hours a day on farms, hotels and resorts in exchange for room, board and meals. I've done both and been to 8 countries in the last 5 years. Also, a tip, get a credit card with flyer miles and eventually you'll build up enough points to fly anywhere in the world for free.

Loved this ! Thanks guys ! For me, I work a 9 to 5 job in order to go on at least one weekend trip every single month, which, so far, has been successful. Having visited 8 countries across Europe since August 2015, all in my free time without having to ask for single bit of time off work.
Travel has since become my main pleasure based expenditure instead of things like tech as it used to be for me. I hope someday to be able to do it full time too someday.

I did the au-pair program in the USA and the UK - it's great! It would have taken me ages to save up to go abroad, but thanks to this program I had almost all my expenses covered, got to study, live, learn about the culture and travel there. I can't recommend it enough, but of course it's not for everyone - if you don't like kids and would prefer a vacation type travel, then it's not for you. It has its downsides as well, but the advantages of this program are far bigger than the disadvantages. Btw, it totally is for guys, too! ;)

hi! thank you soo much, you guys give me so much hope! seriously, you see im at that point in my life where i dont know who i am or what i want, im living a life and studying a career that i know for sure is not going to give me the only certain thing that ive always wanted: to see the world. Im 20 and you have no idea how afraid i am of being afraid to quit the life i dont want and go live my dream, its just so hard to get out of your confort zone and the thing that scares me the most is never having the guts of living, im also afraid of getting too old to get te life i want, im afraid of the "too late".

Thank you very much for those tips! For my whole life I have felt like I didn't belong (where I was born) which led me to depression (still struggling), and I never really wished to do/have what the others dream of (and by that I mean becoming rich, buying a huge house, having kids and a husband etc). I thought maybe I just wasn't mature enough to realize what's really important in life. Then it hit me. Traveling is (one) the only thing(s) I really love. Exploring new countries, new cultures, studying languages and history, seeing the world through the eyes of people I have never met before, stepping out of the comfort zone and being always on the road. And that's the only thing which has kept me going, your videos play a major part in it too! I love all forms of art and I wish to write books about my adventures, maybe start my own vlog, become a photographer or whatever else! I just wanted to thank you guys and in 3 years (aka when I graduate) I'll start to make my dreams come true.

Also one of the many options to travel cheap is to volunteer abroad. In Europe one of the many companies that provides it, is Erasmus. They often pay for the accommodation, they give you a place to stay and sometimes even give a small amount of pocket money every month. Of course it's not much, but you can help to make a difference, travel and get new experiences. :)

This is the only video I've seen about this topic that's actually helpful. Thank you so much! I love traveling and even though I can't do it right now because I'm a student and I own a dog, I'm hoping to travel a lot later in life.

I will definitely try one or a few of these when I get better. 9-5 jobs are not for me because I now have burn out syndrome at age 23. And I live for traveling, my biggest passion in life. Thank you guys! You are an inspiration 😊

We love to travel in our minivan. Take out the back seats and create a bed. We buy food at grocery stores or stay with family/friends. It's a great way to see new sites for a fraction of the cost most pay! Our latest trek to the mountains in Colorado is featured on our vlog!
