By the picture of the thumbnail, i was really hoping he was just going to punch it and throw it across the room, because thats how you deal with Comcast
Illegal to damage some company’s equipment.
I've paid for Xfinity internet for the past five years, I pay for 100mbps and it's never above 30mbps unless I call and complain, then it's around 100mbps for a day or 2, and back to 30. I've called about this no less than a dozen times over the past 2 years... and the last two times they scheduled a technician to come out where I had to be home for a 2-3 hour window, and both times the technician didn't show up, didn't call, didn't care. Comcast is the most awful atrocity of customer service on the planet. Last time I spoke with them, their suggestion was that I pay more for faster speeds and lock into a 3 year contract with them. Why would I pay for faster speeds when you only give me 33% of the speed I'm currently paying for?

Simple explanation, thank you my brother

Wao Man.. That really was super easy as you said at the start. Saviour❤
Thanks Keep up the Great work
Thank you for your vid!!.. I finally got my service going!! Blessings!!
Thank you for your help. Great simple to follow video
I like how back in the day you could just unplug a cable box and plug it back in and everything will be cool but today if you accidentally unplug it you basically have to schedule to get the service turned back on. It's a pain
I thought I was the only one weirdo thought the cord was the male and the box the female, great to see fellow odd thinker
Thank you for your help, second time doing a setup. You are clear and easy to follow.
Very helpful thanks
Thank you for sharing the details
Are you still using Xfinity Prepaid Internet? If so, how is it working? Any issues?
Thank you! Way better than calling xfinity and getting automated service so frustrating! you are yelling representative at a flipping computer operated service🙄😊🙏🏻

So true just got my box and of coarse they are busy and not taking calls. But was free yesterday when I signed up🤬🤬🤬
Good advice however they ask you to set up an app- to connect-is this always needed plus why was the yellow cord in the box? I’m just needing pc connection-thanks.
Your question is a year old so I'm fairly sure you've figured things out by now so I'm replying to your excellent questions for new people to read the comments.
If you need just PC connection and it's stationary, you'll likely want to use the Ethernet (yellow) cord as it will be faster (in my experience) than WiFi.
On WHY the Ethernet cable is in the box ...many people have computers and printers that operate on 2.4 and are way too slow to connect (well) to WiFi. I ALWAYS keep my primary puter hard wired to modem and printer wired to puter. They WILL work independently but not reliably PLUS better to free WiFi signal as every device on it slows it down.
I can't quite figure out why a lot of people are complaining about something that IS in the box than what ISN'T in the box...the battery backup.
Thank you so much!!

I just moved to a new home (did the change of address) but I still can’t connect to wifi. Power light is solid, US/DS is blinking, online is off, 2.4 wifi and 5 ghz is also blinking. What do I do from here?
Can you confirm with Comcast that they have turned on the service at your new location? I would also make sure the coax cable is tightly connected to the modem. Otherwise, if nothing works after about a day or two, you may need to have a Comcast tech sent out to troubleshoot the problem.
@rafabessaLA I ended up calling Comcast. They had already turned on WiFi at the new location, they had to replace the cable from wall.
I plug everything in and am not getting any internet connection?
What if I don't have a cable wall outlet but cable wires that can fit into the router instead?
Thank you that's good info
How do you update the firmware for that router model?
Now do yours come with batteries do I need one or no?

I had a question if I wanted to hook up my fax machine would it be through that modem or the wall plug where it’s used for house phones?
To the back of your gateway, most commonly plugged to Tel port 1(Top left side)
Nick. My. Ok.
Do I have to connect to the outside wires? I thought I have a wireless internet modem that I simply plug into the Smart TV?
Ummm... so I did it as in the video and everything is good except the second light it just blinks lowly. Please help
Step one: return the box and demand a refund. Your paying full price for cut corners, voice command remote that is cheapest they can buy. Cable that is split between your entire street and will go out during any and all stormy weather.
true but i can’t find a better provider that have unlimited data google fiber isn’t avail here yet
Well explain.
i can’t find that outlet???
Thanks Brother
Its an old gateway. You should move to Xb 6 or Xb 7 & If you have 1.2 gigabit Speed then you are qualified for Xb 8 gateway which is the most advanced gateway of Xfinity.
does the coax have to be in a wall to set it up or does it also works on a tv
Wall
Can I use my friend’s modem for my new account ?
Thank u
What if there's no coax wall outlet ? Do I have to buy a special adapter for it ?
You need to calll Xfinity to schedule a Technician for professional installation and that will cost you $39.99
I have a yellow Ethernet cord that came with this same box. Can I just plug this to the back of the box and connect the other side to laptop? Is that how I create a hard wire internet? If not, how do I do hard wire internet! Thanks for the informational video!
Yes, it will work. All u need to do is plug one side of the Ethernet cord to the back side your modem and the other side to your Laptop.
This is the 5th video on this Xfinity internet starter kit I have watched tonight, not a single mention of why the battery pack is omitted
Same ! I didn’t get a battery, where can I get one?

Does it work on a surge protector that has a coax connection?

That's my question as well 🤔
@@donatocongialdi4811 I actually had to have a Comcast tech come out and run a whole new coax and activate it. Service is good, have had it about four months

The 3rd online light is not on. What could be the issue?
My router stoped working out of nowhere and the the circles stop blinking the white light
Are we using the same wall oulet as Cable TV ? Why this Gateway (Modem+ router) can't be hooked up to the phone-internet outlet to get the signals like our AT&T router does, now switching from AT&T to Xfinity confusing to me , I got the Equipment which looks like used but I am afraid the coax oulet got no signal , because it is cut off in the backyard somewhere ☹️ thanks !
If it’s cut in the backyard or you don’t see the signals, you will have to call xfinity and they will have to send a tech out to fix that. The tech will also help you set up the router as well. In most cases the tech visit is free.
How can you use the xfinity website if you don't have a mobile phone? You can't create an ID.

The modem and router are one?
Yes.
we dont have coax on our apatment but we do have phoneline slot on the wall. does it need to be coax line?

Just curious...did they remove the "bad" cable when they came to install their cable or just leave it to strangle vegetation and create future bio waste?
I've never been able to figure out why they don't dig up their old cables but just leave them there in the ground and then put new cables over them. A cable is a cable is a cable UNLESS you've signed up with Ajax Internet or rodents chewed up the former carrier's cable.
After 20 years, there are soooo many cables buried outside my friend's apartment condo place that flowers and other vegetation will not grow 😓.
My lights are all on but every time I try to activate my modem it says can’t find your modem how do I fix this?
Same here. Tried four times to set up via Xfinity app didn't work.
Only works when your internet service has been activated.
What's the top button for? On the modem?
I'm not entirely sure, but I believe it is a WPS button. It is a button you push which can allow you to connect your wifi devices with just the push of a button. Its convenient, but is a security risk as the protocol behind it is inherently flawed so its not really to be used anymore.
All five are on and blinking except the third one it doesn’t light up at all
My house doesnt have a cable outlet just lines goin in and out of my house and theyre all male too
What do i do if 2.4 isnt blinking but 5 is
Dealing with the same thing been two days straight can’t get it to work hah.
Did you get it to work?
Like 80 new support here lets get connected ❤️🔔🇺🇸
I tried calling them directly but they just said to purchase more pieces…
What if u have no cable t.v?? Can u still get internet
Yeah, try smoke signals... 2 puffs means you want to connect 🤓Sorry, I shouldn't poke fun... if it makes you feel better, there are a ton of people on this channel that I saw just as mystified. To answer your question, you do NOT need cable to get on the internet. You WILL need some kind of connection though. Cable is about the fastest and most stable connection for a residential house or apartment. DSL modems are pretty fast too and they can hook into basic telephone jacks. DSL can't really compare to cable, though. A fast and stable connection is EXTREMELY important today. Twenty years ago a 9600 baud modem would get you through the day... not anymore! You hook one of those antiques up and you'll sit in front of your computer for a half an hour waiting for a simple webpage to load... and God forbid you wander into a page with some video! In that situation expect your browser to crash.
It wouldn't be to cool to point out a bunch of hurdles if I didn't have some form of solution. My suggestion would be for you to take a laptop or tablet to an internet cafe. It's a great place to hang out, the people behind the counter will almost always help you get online if you're new to the armchair sport and while you're soaking up that vat of knowledge from the local geeks, you can get on the outside of a burger and fries. Hope this helped! Have fun and Good Luck!!!
What if you wanna move it to a room without that kinda of outlet
That outlet actually connects your router to the outside xfinity box via a cable. So if you need to move the router in a different room, you will need a similar outlet in that room. And for that, I’m pretty sure xfinity tech would need to come out to do that.
Bro mine is only blinking and blinking
