xfinity prepaid internet is the worst!!!

  • here is what happens when you go the cheap route for internet. the tech over the phone was no help and I think they sent me a broke modem. 😕 power wouldn't stay on..

    Old style Xfinity routers were always problematic.

    Definitely a bad router, the lights shouldn't go out ....ever..my issue is more related to not being able to synch up after my online light stays on

    Bad modem. Return it and get another one. Keep in mind all of the modems for prepaid Internet are pretty much refurbished

    Total different experience. Appears you might have a defective modem & that's a helluva leap to worst internet service. I've had Xfinity prepaid internet for over a year now & the service has been great. As a matter of fact, with the recent speed bump from 25 download to 50- at the same price of $45 month it's a steal for those seeking reliable internet.

      Try getting a refund......it's been 4 weeks and counting. . And yes they sent me a defective/broken modem.

      I am thinking of getting prepaid internet when my promotion is up in January. Are you able to use a streaming service such as CZcams TV and if so, how is the quality of the stream?
      Also, is the router built into the unit with the modem?

    He aint lien doe its like u can connect sometimes in the morning u cant play games long but can play at night till 1. Get interrupted during games smh

    This service is the worst I have ever had when it comes to internet service, always shutting down rebooting, and the online help is no help ! horrible service !

    Looks like a dead coax line. Modem can't lock on, if there is no signal.

      *UPDATE after two and a half months and over 20 calls I FINALLY got my full refund!! Never using Xfinity again! Their customer service was very poor taking care of the refund. I had to repeat my sorry several times. Ask to speak to a supervisor, but was unable to speak to one and I was told only a supervisor was the only ones that handles refunds.... so it was like that every single time! Until Eugene took my call and actually contacted a supervisor who actually refunded me. So thanks Eugene, the rest of Xfinity can go f* themselves! Good day!

    They keep telling me it's my wall cord but I had a modem that worked I just forgot the password as soon as I got a new modem it stopped working all together instead of giving me a modem they want to send a technician

    that's not an Xfinity prepaid router. i have one and they only support 2.4 ghz band. there is not 5 ghz light on the prepaid router. its power,usds, online,wifi,tel1,tel2 and battery only so whats up with that. im looking at my Xfinity prepaid router right now. don't see how you got one of their contract routers for prepaid.

      @@stevenrobinson4454 so do you have a new version that im not aware of that has 5ghz support because mine does not or even show the 5ghz band icon. so if they all of a sudden support 5ghz on prepaid just wondering why they never sent an email or anything saying it's now supported and i can upgrade me prepaid router I've had for a couple years now....

I would contact Xfinity to see if there is a difference , but I will say that I used to be under contract but when I switched over to the prepaid , they made me give back the modem I had when I was under contract and get the prepaid modem (to my knowledge it’s refurbished which is probably why I am having the issues in the first place) .

      Yes! It was the modem! They sent me a broken modem. I needed internet because I work from home. I contacted them and they stated that I had to send the broken back, then once they received it they going to send me a new modem in the mail. I couldn't wait that long. So I asked for just a refund....... I'm still waiting on that refund and it's almost been like 2 months since.....
