I wish Xfinity would add an alphabetical sort option to the Guide. Their guide is so convoluted and disorganized and even when you try to narrow it down by Favoriting it will duplicate all the SD & HD versions of the same channel. Plus, there is only one Favorite list...should be able to do multiple lists.
Does not tell how to set up Favorite channels, record, menu views, What are button A , B, C , D Closed Caption Wi Fi Where are all the operation instruction for all the function NOT the 10 min simple start.

An excellent video on this subject - if Xfinity has not paid you handsomely for preparing this video, they should - I would ask for $50,000. Much, much better than any information put out by Xfinity - their information was extremely poor if you could even find it. THANKS
Late comment here but my came with a cord coax cord for in and out so do I just use the put or in corn cause you used only 1? So idk what to do I been trying to do this all day and it’s just not working at all and it’s upsetting and I have the same tv as you I think I just don’t know what to do if you could lmk that would be awesome!!! Got the same issue. Tells me to tightened the cable but it’s tight. Matter of fact I disconnected the pos and plugged my old box back in and it fired right up. Guess I’ll have to call a technician. Spent over 2 hours on this.
So I only have the Comcast modem/router for wifi and I also use a antenna for TV. Then they send me this small block box for the streaming of the couple free apps. I am getting tired of it saying to restart this or that every couple days. I hope you might know more about this error I keep getting that says to push the WPS on top of router which I don't use that way to connect. It says to move tv box closer to wifi devise lol, the TV and black box is on table with TV and sound bar which soundboard don't work senc3 getting Comcast service. And the modem/ router is on table next to TV. So I don't know how much closer I could get through this.. Any ideas
I don't know if the original remote to that TV is at critical. I just powered my TV on with my older Comcast remote. My old comcast remote was the silver one where you could just select tv on the remote and press power. I was able to set up a new cable box just as easily
your TV need to be set to the cable box connection. A new box does not know how your TV is connected. If you replace a box, it will probably be set already but the auto power on TV will not work
I had an oldddd Comcast box And just ordered a replacement 2 weeks ago was supposed to be the same box well it ended up being the X1 box. It's a lot bigger and has more ports than yours tho
And if you have internet service from Comcast and you forgot your WiFi password.. you can use the microphone button on your Xfinity remote to retrieve it. Simply push and hold the microphone button and then say 'What's my WiFi password" and it will be displayed on your TV screen.

I am currently paying Xfinity for cable tv and Internet service. I bought my own Internet modem to avoid the Xfinity monthly rental fee. Now I want to install a second tv and avoid another set top box rental fee. I see brand new Xfinity set top boxes exactly like my current one for sale from third parties. Does anyone know for sure if I purchase one of these Xfinity set top boxes and hook it up to my 2nd tv will it work? Will Xfinity need to unlock it? Will I need to register it w Xfinity, for an additional monthly fee, of course?
I’ve done all of these steps and nothing. I believe because the new apartment that I just moved to hasn’t had cable since 2016 a technician has to come out. 😢

Xfinity sent us these pieces of crap boxes to replace old boxes we had. Problem is, we need RCA cable outputs, the red, yellow, white A/V cords? It was on the old box, but not on the new one. Even using the cable out to a DVR with RCA cables, then to the TV doesn't work. Nothing comes through. Is Xfinity FORCING me to use their DVR system? I have a specific way I want my setup to be, and Xfinity is cutting me off? I doubt that's legal.

Anyways when I activated this box I never connected to wifi at all never but after getting it going I clearly hzve internet all of my apps work etc. I can't find anything on their website etc about connecting to wifi. Only thing I can find is connecting to a gateway which I do not have at all lol. Im So confused how im connected to wifi
Your not connected to wifi the cable boxes pull internet through the coax independent from the modem so all x1 boxes are internet capable whether you have internet or not. I'm and installation tech for comcast so if you have any other questions just ask.

First off if my box was just drawing internet thru my coax cable that wouldn't make sense for the millions majority of ppl that HAVE THE REQUIRED WIRELESS GATEWAY and are wiring the box to THE GATEWAY or whatever to draw their internet. If you follow any manual you find whether it be the manual that came with your box or anything else you read online, they all say the same thing. You gotta have the wireless gateway. That goes back to why I said I disagree with what you said about drawing internet thru the coax. Also if I was able to do that, everyone would do it and no one would need a router at all
I may not have explained it in the best way so all of our equipment run on the same type of signal and then once it hits the box it's going to it that box then translates it into either cable or Internet or phone whichever it is that you are paying for so our cable always has internet running through it now in order to use Wi-Fi or hardwired Internet you have to have a modem that will translate the signal into internet for you to use you could also use a modem just for phone so instead of that modem translating the signal into internet it will only translate it into phone cuz that's what its coded for. with X1 boxes they are coded to translate the signal into cable and internet for use exclusively in the Box itself you can't plug something into the box and use the box as an internet router now the older boxes they don't have the capability of translating the signal into internet within themselves that's why you were only able to get cable from those ones. I've worked for Comcast for 4 years I install it everyday so I know the equipment very well and how it works I promise I'm not lying.
@BamaRockstar my old box well it just burn out one day. A Comcast service guy came out and gave me this exact box and set it up for me. I found out I could access Xumo, Pluto, freevee ect. I could even log on to CZcams and watch videos on TV instead of my smartphone. One day, while I was watching an episode of Mad Men, I noticed came up from Amazon saying that their services were having trouble and that this app would be unavailable for a while. I thought I was being nice and responsible so I called Comcast and told them that the reason you couldn't access Mad Men on freevee is something's going on with Amazon not Comcast. The guy I spoke to got a little angry and said that I was not subscribed to internet and I shouldn't be able to access that. I told him no I don't have internet I don't even have a computer. There was some silence and my box reset and he asked me if my boss was resetting and I said yes why? He said I would have to purchase all this extra equipment and subscribe to internet and HD to be able to view those apps and the programming they offer. There are some people on Twitter who have gone through the exact same experience I did. They have gotten nowhere there free app access was taken away after they enquired about it and they never got it back unless they bought the equipment. Comcast is pretty cutthroat.
The best thing is to make the device black and the letters on it a very dark gray. Oh and a real small font. That way you can only read it with your million candle flashlight.

Had to call comcast and it took me 2 hours of over the phone instructions to get mine to connect, Had to punch in a bunch of codes etc. Was an absolute NIGHTMARE!!!! If you do change out to a new box call comcast and tell them to arrange for a technician to come over and hook it up or you will cancel their service.
What makes me angry is every two to three days I have to input my phone number, then rename the device, then set it up to work for my tv 15 to 30 minutes later I'm finally watching tv. My old cable box burnt out and I only had to do that process 1 time. The new box I got in November 2021 every two to three days repeat the process.
You need a new box a lot of them are refurbished so even though it's new to you it's not actually new so if it's rebooting like that you need a new one.
NO! NO! It doesn't work. Many Customers, especially Senior Citizen are unable to follow Xfinity's directions . A Comcast Tech. is needed. Customers need not pay $70 to $90 for Tech.Support,, particularly on rental Equipment!!
There are a couple reasons this happens. Reason 1. Your box resets on a daily basis and you can set the time for it. HIt the Xfinity button, move over to the button that looks like a cog (next to apps) Then click on Preferences, Then click on General, Scroll down until you see Daily Update Time. Change to what time you want that. Reason 2. Cable is down due to storm or maintenance in your area. Reason 3 something is wrong with your box or signal strength. My new dvr box resets itself to needing to enter my phone number and renaming the device every 2 or 3 days. I am not happy and will be getting a new box soon.
This thing is not intuitive at all, there is no way for me to know if the thing is turned on and unplugging the old box and plugging the same cables into the new box didn’t work
For everyone complaining about having difficulties setting up the box or reading the instructions lol. It's real real simple. All you gotta do is hook the box up turn everything on and follow the instructions on the tv. Simple takes 10 min. Literally 10 min
As usual with comcast shit, I hook up the two cables and power turn it on and nothing, it tries and tries and tries to download stuff then I just get the endless suggestion tighten up your cable wires LOL, nothing to tighten on a HDMI,, wasted a hour with this shit and of course NO LIVE human works at comcast xfinity and the bot app is useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can easily ask Xfinity for 4k cable boxes for free instead of this model that caps out at 1080p.
