Peter you’re awesome! I love the energy you have when you do your videos thanks for making these for us.
I like Xfinity Comcast just for the Internet, I don’t care for the television service.
No one does 😂

Thank you for this clear video. And I like your outro music, nice brotha.
Xfinity is notorious for adding services you didn't want and addresses you've never been to
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
I’m having trouble finding my coax cable as well so do u think it’s behind the AT&T cables in the wall?
Very useful info. Thank you for sharing this.
Hopefully you can add a coax wall plate on top of the AT&T wall plate.
Thank you. Good tutorial
I'm with you on being cheap when it comes to cable but I had the problem tonight bcuz I didn't have cable nor the people before me
Saw “hey PETER” wrote on the paper that came with the router, immediately thought of Joe from Family Guy
Can I just use a 2 way Cable splitter with it. I have a codex plate already installed In my apartment
Which slot you put the ithernet wire you put it on
0:10 Your AT&T - U-verse was DSL on the 'plain-old-telephone' line?
The Comcast Xfinity technician should've done that for you as part of the installation service.
You need to follow up to have people separate the wifi bands as it's all combined as 1 be Default, which is ridiculous!
It's called turn Off 'band steering' which is in the router's Settings, Advance Tab.
People need to separate the speeds, 2.4, 5 & 6, then choose 5 or 6 for the better wifi, otherwise, they'll most likely get stuck with the slowest 2.4 signal.
Coll
I had AT&T UVerse for a while, but it got too expensive. Then I just had AT&T internet for the past 5 or so years and their internet 😂speed sucked!! Late last year, our local electric cooperative put in fiber optic internet in our area and I JUMPED on it. Now I have unlimited data @ 1 GB internet speed for LESS than what I was paying for AT&T’s 24mbps. It is almost 50x faster than the slow speed I had been suffering with for years.
Yeah, I wish we had fiber in my area. The xfinity offerings are still adequate for me. 50mbps used to be fine from AT&T, but I noticed that often I was only getting 1/2 of what they promised, and when you try streaming movies and doing work, everything just started becoming unbearable. Too bad AT&T didn't step up with something new. I probably would've stayed with them, but they're forcing people to buy something else.
@@petervonpanda how is it going so far? 350 down is fast.
@@petervonpanda Hopefully you can add a coax wall plate on top of the AT&T wall plate.
There is one thing which is not understandable, before you setup the router wifi, how does your smartphone app connect to the internet and setup your router ?? do you need another wifi internet connection first hand ?
Thank you!
I personally have been using Comcast for over 15 years at two locations and almost never have issues with their service. I have also found their customer service to be pretty good. Their field technicians can be hit or miss though and really depends on your area. Nowadays their infrastructure is really plug and play for the most part.
Speak for yourself.
I've had nothing but issues with them for years.
@@yosefshekelberg5433 is xfinity good
@@yosefshekelberg5433 same and even if there service weren't shit there website is and is non functional half the time

Just updated to the X1 from Xfinity/Comcast. Is it right that the fan runs continuously? It's annoying.
Oh nice Peter
Hey man i have a coax WIRE hanging out of my wall is THAT what i put into the splitter or back of modem?
Me too! That’s why I’m here! 😂
Hi there thanks for posting this video, I have a question how to connect WPS button, because when I push to button blinks, a red light only to connect wireless extended Wi-Fi thanks.
I don't have a direct answer, but I would avoid using WPS. It has known vulnerabilities. Its just best to use a strong wifi password.
Only downfall I'm going through, is blinking orange light on modem after power outage.. will not return to solid orange color
I appreciate the vid. My modem arrives tomorrow and I'm pretty nervous if the old coax cables work or not.
Did they work

@@letzgrow6153 you're one lucky dude, my coax connector is so damn old because we always used lan. I was hoping they where still operational but they aren't lol
You took off the electrical cover to find the cord? Oof ok then.
I just Xfinity myself and got myself confused as to how exactly I was going to actually get the modem working because the cord I thought I had here turned out to just be an ethernet cable sticking through the wall.
Thx very much
Can you have Xfinity and at&t internet running in the same cable or is it a different line?
Yes you can use both services, but they are 2 different types of internet connections that have nothing to do with each other. AT&T provides internet service via phone line (or fiber optic cable if available) and Comcast delivers service via coaxial cable.
2:40 - What has been providing programing-signal to your big flat-panel tv that I see?
He may have used streaming services
Comcast is absolute trash, I have been using them for the last month at my new house. A technician walked me through how to set it up bc I use my own modem. Abruptly they shut off my service last week. I called and they told me “a technician physically has to come out to turn it on” which is absolute BS, bc it’s already been working for a month! And if they can shut it off remotely, they can turn it on remotely. I’m irate right now, bc you can’t leave a review anywhere or speak to anyone higher up that actually can help you. And unfortunately it’s the only available internet in my area.
I can't believe you just switched to Comcast!
I’m surprised too. There are only a few choices in my area
@@petervonpandaHopefully you can add a coax wall plate on top of the AT&T wall plate.
If Comcast sold these routers outright, how much do you think they would/should go for?
It’s 15-25/month now and most people will pay that for years. That’s $900 after 5 years minus tax, it doesn’t seem smart at all for them to sell it outright
@@jahanbaxter that's why I'm asking how much it would actually go for.
comcast doesn’t make these routers they wouldn’t be able to
@@PlayboiCarti-ny9nz if these were on the market, I just want to know the price they would run for. So I can gage the price range I should put on a router.
@@CagedPhoenixThe1st $175-$250
Would I only have to install the black cable just for cable or have to plug it in for internet too? Because I’m only trying to get my own internet in my room and not cable
You'll need to plug in the coax cable into the Xfinity gateway box. That's how Comcast delivers internet and TV service to your home. If you're not using cable TV service, you don't need to worry about that.
@@JJFlores197 So i don't need to plug in the coaxial cable if i just want the internet?
@@SanPua-lg9cn It looks like I misread the original question. Yes you need to plug in the coax cable to the Xfinity gateway box. As I said, that's how you get internet service.
Mines only blinks yellow what do I do?
The yellow port on this router has 6 places in can fit in that you skipped where you put it
Mine just stays yello and you can find the name but no wifi is working
Just got Google fiber.
OMG I don't have to reset my Xfinity Internet like every hour.. Like I've gotten so use to...
you are extremely lucky that att didn't disconnect your coaxial connection from the node. its standard practice of every service to disconnect locations from all other ISP nodes when they do their install. It makes it harder and more costly for YOU as the customer to swap to a new ISP.
How does that work? They are 2 different companies and technologies. In my house, the Xfinity cable comes from a small underground green box/pedestal in the corner of my yard into the right side of my home. My AT&T comes in on the left side of the home.
Technologically challenged here. What is the other end of your yellow ethernet cable plugged in to?
That would go into a computer or device that you want hardwired into your router. In general, a physical connection is better for wifi, but your device has to be within reach of the cable. In most instance, connecting via wifi is good enough for most home users, but if you need the most reliable connection, you would plug your device into the cable.
So what other coax cable did you use to get it to work because that's the issue I'm having. Mines have the two females end also
Damn I wish I can help but I don’t work at xfinity but all I can say is that he used a male coax cable?
@@Dixon_LandDixon_J thanks. I ended up having to call them out to fix it for me
@@keishaj336 was it the cable?

I am buying my uncle house moving in tomorrow he is old never had internet BUT he had cable through xfinity can I use that cable cord and hook it up to the router or that's different anybody know?
Most likely yes you can use that cable.
That 'app' is my dilemma, thanks for glossing over that.
What if I don’t have a coax cable or outlet
Does your home not have any coax anywhere? If not, then you can't use Comcast internet as that is the basis for the service. You may need to call them and have a tech install a coax drop for you. I don't believe its free though.
Can I plug in set it up & then take to another room
If the other room has a coax cable, sure.
Can you get Wi-Fi with out plugging in Cable plug
Yes, but you won't have internet. Wifi and internet aren't the same thing. Xfinity is a cable internet provider so you need to plug in the coax cable into the modem in order to get internet.
Looks like you didn't get the latest Xfinity Gateway. I suggest talking to Comcast and upgrading your gateway to the latest XB8 gateway.
What's the difference? I just received this version of the gateway.
@@evilbunnies4205 xb8 is tri-band with a 2.4Ghz, a 5.0 Ghz and a 6.0 Ghz band. The third 6.0 is great if your device is capable of seeing and connecting to it because that band is less cluttered. Other than that no real difference.
@@imperialraiden8259 must devices don’t support it yet sadly
Plus it you don’t have fiber you don’t really need it
Did this dude just hit me with an anime outro LOL
Bots: “I love how he never disappoints us with his content”
People like me must see all the steps of installing it, but you didn’t show where to plug each cable from the old box into the new one 😢
After 10 years of AT&T I finally decided to change internet provider to Tmobile since I have cell service from them.
AT&T= 69.00 a month plus 10 dollars for equipment rental of modem.
Tmobile= only 50 bucks.
That's it! No equipment charge.
Results? I was very hesitant to change because I don't know how to connect modems and didn't know which modem was compatible. Little did I know, no modem to connect. Tmobile is about the size of an Alexa tower module and all connections are basically a "search and find" on the small module screen. And walla!! All connections are done via blue-tooth. So basically all you need to know is how to plug into your wall outlet.
AT&T was always buffering. T runs smoothly, giving me faster (double +) service speed than my old account. Better service, cheaper price. Go figure.
HOW ABOUT connecting their NOW BROADBAND INTERNET. IT JUST CAME OUT. Came with two cords. One goes to the cable outlet I take it. One goes to the power outlet...? And then? Well if I figure it out I guess I got to make my own post
Should be the same overall process from what I can tell.
La verdad no quedo claro donde se conecta los cables. Pensé el video era para enseñar como concetabas mis cables del modulo a la tv
Pues el video es de como instalar el servicio de internet de Xfinity, no de television.
where does the ethernet connect to?
You connect the ethernet cable to a computer, TV or game console.
Super I can hear somebody doing the dishes 😅
Where does that coax cable go???? My house does not have cable at all. I can't find one video on how to install a cable modem that's applicable to me because all they do is say "oh take your coax cable from the wall". I mean wtf?
same!!! My house is old and has no cable set up or coax or even a phone jack available... I think we would have to call a company which does home data wiring to install ? No idea.
If your house doesn't have any coax cabling, then you have to call Xfinity and request an installation tech. Xfinity delivers internet through coax cable so there's no way around not having coaxial cabling.
When I connect mine all I get is a yellow blinking light
Same you ever find out how to fix
@@ur1el554same you ever figure it out?
send that box back and buy your own modem. it will work much better
do anyone get this for gaming
I am going to be using mine for gaming when it comes in 3-5 days, It should be the same xFi gateway as what is in this video.

Pathetic upload speeds. Imagine being a coaxial user ☕️
Go get some girls nerd
Most people don’t need to much for upload speeds. So cable isn’t pathetic and you aren’t paying for upload speeds that you don’t use.
@@imperialdoggo5826 “Most people” like you 😂😂 loser. I rather have 1G symmetrical from AT&T fiber than 1.2G/40mbps from Comcast
@@leoncraftmcwell not everyone needs to be paying for useless upload speed.
@@imperialdoggo5826 The only thing useless is having excessive download speeds. It makes sense people like you don’t understand the importance of faster upload speeds since coaxial companies love to hide that info in the fine print and only boast about their download speeds. You’re probably paying for useless download speeds right now. I used to have 600mbps down/10mbps up with Comcast. We never maximize 600mbps on our daily usage. My household averages 30mbps download watching movies, gaming, and everything else. However, the upload speeds of 10 Mbps is just unacceptable and excruciatingly slow for live-streaming and video calling.
Get to the point
