Thanks Chris. I cannot wait to actually drive this thing finally. Soon hopefully...

Brad, the car's looking really good..I think you can make it...hang in there.
I'm still giving it the old college try. Thanks man!
Im looking forward to seeing it completed.
You and me both Anthony. Thanks!
It's coming along nicely.
Thanks!
Car is looking phenomenal!
Hey man I appreciate that buddy!
Dang, you have made a lot of progress.nice work
We are whittling away at it for sure. Still a bit of a daunting list, but I think I can, I think I can....
Great video. The painting looks good. The progress on the car looks really nice. Look forward to more on the '55 as the days count down. Be safe and stay well.
The days are indeed counting down. I am close, but running out of time fast. Thanks for watching!
Great job Brad, the 55 is looking great. Keep up the great work.🎉
Thanks brother!
Nice progress! Good luck making RMRW. Mob on.......
Thanks man. Much appreciated as always!
Dang it Brad, if I was better off financially, I'd come over for a week and give you a helping hand. I'd sleep on a cot and eat bologna. Lol. I sure hope you make Race Week. I watch all the video coverage every year of Race Week. Good Luck man. I'm rooting for ya
Thanks man. I'm in the same financial boat, or I'd bring you up here! We all know I could use the help. It's mostly small stuff now, except for the paint, and we all know I don't need paint... Hopefully I can buckle down and make it happen. Are you on or near the race week route? It seems like you told me before I'd be going right by you. Be cool to hook up if so.
@@MontanaGarage This years race locations do not include my home track which is Tulsa. So I'll be watching just the videos. I'm 15 minutes from Tulsa Raceway Park.
Hey Brad, nicely done , paint looks great. Hope you make the race week Brother. 🫵🏼💯🆒🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank man. I'm trying....
Dam lookin good that car comin together so nice soo pretty
Thank you Dale!
Wow! Awesome forward moving progress on the car! On my '55 Bel Air Sedan, I had put my Holley Blue in about the same spot, so you should be good. I later moved it to the outside of the framerail to get the battery cable and the fueline away from the exhaust. I did that after having a vapor lock issue at the drags. I like the switch on the clutch for the 2 step and the line lock! Great idea! I may also have a spare pair of the 90 degree inner fender well to firewall brackets. Let me know if you need them and I can get them in the mail asap! Also, I am kicking around going to the Tri-Five Nationals either as a participant or a spectator. That would be a cool plan B for the car to consider. Keep up the great work Brad and I look forward to the next one!
Thanks man. Yeah, once I got the fuel pump all mounted I was like, dang it, that's gonna be awful close to the exhaust. I figured I'd leave it for know, and se if I can just keep the exhaust away from it as much as possible, but I may end up moving it too. time will tell. Thanks for the offer on the fender well brackets. I should have some so hopefully they turn up. I may take you up on it if not. If RMRW is a bust, I'll shoot for Nats for sure.
Great progress Brad. Will try to join you tomorrow night for the live stream. Keep Mobbin'
Thanks a bunch terry. Looking forward to it!
Keep jamming on it Brad you will make the race. Everything is looking great. Have a good one and we will see you on the next one. 👍😎✌️
Thanks a ton Kevin. We are still jamming over here...
It is looking very good under the car. I hope you're using star washers on the bolts holding down the ground straps. They work better making good contact on painted surfaces.
Thanks man. I did use some star washers, but need to grab a few more as I ran out. I did grind the paint away under all the ground points as well, so hopefully they're all good.
@Montana Garage It would not hurt to put some conductive grease on the contact points, even on the light bulb sockets. It prevents corrosion over time. I have even used white lithium. It keeps the air away by protecting the surface.
Your car is really coming together and looks good.
Always paint the radiator black it helps disparates heat into the air.
That seems to be the least common stance on the "paint your radiator" question. I'm not sure if it's good or bad, all I know is it's black! Thanks Bob!
Some great progress for sure!! Awesome work Brad and although I haven’t been playing along with the whole trivia thing (great idea by the way) I pln to tune in on the 25th to support just the same. Keep up the great work and I always enjoy your videos.
Thanks a bunch Dave. Looking forward to it!
Thanks for the video l hope you 2 door the dd speedshop 57 show Dan how it's done lol 55 is really looking good decided on color yet
Thanks Dave. That's a good plan for the DDSS '57. We'll find out soon if that is it's fate. Color? Who needs color? So yeah, still haven't decided...
What a beautiful car. Really checked the rulebook on the fuel pressure regulator by the flywheel and the firewall. I don't believe it's allowed there
Thanks. I'll check the rules. I wasn't aware of anything about the fuel pressure regulator mounting.
There is specific paints for radiators.
I saw that while I was researching if and how to best paint the radiator. I saw in the SPI forum where people were painting rads with SPI, and had no issues. That is what I had on hand, and couldn't afford the time to wait for the special rad paint, so I went for it with the SPI. Fingers crossed it holds up. Thanks for watching!
Coming along nicely. Are you going to change that rubber fuel line for metal? The length of the car is a lot of rubber.
Thanks for watching Steve. The "rubber" fuel line is actually Russell braided line with an fittings. From what I understand it is completely acceptable, and NHRA approved, to run this type of line the length of the car.
Come on Bud ( U CAN DO IT) 👍🤔.
Thanks Lonnie!
What brand header are you using?
Thanks for watching!
Will he make it ??? So are you going to leave the body bare ? or just primer ? I need answers Man ! The next thing is .... can you race ? You have done this before ? Right ? Time to test ?
Thanks Scott. If I had any answers to the bare/primer/paint thing I'd let you know. Someday I'll decide... Obviously it will not be painted before RMRW, so we'll see what I decide to do for that. Stay tuned I guess... I have raced many, many moons ago, mostly on the street but once at a track, so basically I am a rookie who will definitely screw up along the way I am sure. Should make for good video at least. Hopefully I get this thing driving really soon so I have a bit of time to put some miles and hits on it, but we could be going with an untested driver and an untested car. What could go wrong?
👍👍
👊👊👊
Painting the radiator is a REALLY bad idea. Most heat is removed by conduction with the air flowing through it, and paint is an effective insulator (prevents heat transfer to the air)...
Yeah I saw that when I was researching if and how to paint it. I also so many people say they saw no difference. And yet others said it was better to actually paint it so who knows. I'm no physicist so I don't know the real answer. I decided to just paint it and hope for the best. At least it'll look cooler, even if it doesn't run cooler, and isn't looking cooler what we all want? haha Thanks for watching.
