    Us in aviation for passing cables and wires through aluminum panels, especially those connected to the engine to reduce vibration and wear on the items that they are designed to protect. Awesome you found a use for them. Keep Mobbin'

    Great work on the battery wiring. The old '55 sounds really nice. The flashbacks are good. Be safe and stay well.

      What about The potential for a short between the positive cable and that metal battery box? If there is room that fuse could be mounted inside the metal battery box To protect against such a short.

    • @MontanaGarage
      @MontanaGarage  Před 9 měsíci

      Hmm Ron I guess anything is possible, but the battery is held down tight with a bracket and the cables do go through a grommet as they pass through the box. I do need to add another grommet, etc for the smaller gauge wire, but it is ziptied to the larger cable and cannot contact the aluminum box. I need to come up with a way to fill in the slots I cut in the box as well. Thanks for watching!

    Glad I found your channel mate...Very informative as Im in the process of doing a lot of these jobs on my Barracuda... Couple of quick questions...what size fuse have you got inline in the alternator line behind the battery box? Also is your fuel pump wired to the key? Comes on when you turn the ignition on? Ive always run a separate switch but using a wiring kit this time...keep the vids coming, enjoying your content

    • @MontanaGarage
      @MontanaGarage  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching! The fuse I have inline with the battery/alternator is 175 amps. I am not sure if this is the correct amperage, this is just the mega fuse supplied with the American Autowire kit. I am not really using it as intended, but the application is similar so I figured it should work. I do have my fuel pump wired to the ignition, but through a relay. It does come on with the ignition. Again, not sure if this is correct, but it seems to be working for me. Good luck with the Barracuda, those are super cool cars.

    You are doing a very good job on your 55. What is the maker of the roll bar that you used? Did you have to buy any extra PCs to make it work? Thanks and good luck . I will be watching your progress. Albert in Dallas

    • @MontanaGarage
      @MontanaGarage  Před 4 měsíci

      The roll bar is from Chris Alston's Chassisworks, here's a link. www.cachassisworks.com/p-494-8-point-roll-bar1-34x134.aspx My only complaint was that the rear down bars were not long enough to get to the frame. I guess they are designed to mount to the trunk floor. I didn't want to do that, so I had two new bars bent locally. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project!

      DDSS '57 is sold. Sorry I have not mentioned it on the channel. My content went a little haywire with the scramble to make Race Week and I still haven't really caught up. I appreciate you still watching!
